Amazing Greens
Overall it's a pretty solid course. Individual hole layouts are great. Each holes hazards and layouts offer a unique challange. Overall layout is a bit congested at some areas where tee boxes and greens are within 10-15 yrds of each other. This makes it so a slightly offline shot in these spots could be heading for another group or into another groups line of play. Greens are immaculate some of the best in the area. Bunkers also in great shape. Fairways could be tended to a bit more in terms of cut, not terrible though. The only real issue has been pace of play. I usually get out early, tee off between 7 and 8. Heavy traffic on weekends and other golfers skill have had me waiting at times 15 mins between shots. I usually play solo but end up grouping up with people ahead or behind me that don't have full groups to combat the waiting. Overall I would give 7 out of 10 on this course.
Great public facility
Had a great time playing this course for the first time. Fantastic practice area, and was surprised by staff who gave me some range balls to get myself ready for the game. Course layout is very innovative. More innovative is the fact that they give guidelines to help you choose the right tee to play so as to get the most fun out of the game. Will be back.
Conditions improving
I played the course 10 days previous and it was pretty dry then as we had been in a drought. Since then we've had about 6 inches of rain prior to yesterday's round. The greens were receptive and the fairways are recovering. Our foursome played in under 4 hours, a very good pace.
Braemar
This course is quite long from the back tee. I moved up on several holes, but it still played almost 6800 yards. The layout is both interesting and challenging. My biggest complaint is that the greens are just too slow. I had too many putts that were right on line, but stopped short of the hole.
Braemar
I played mostly the blue tees, but moved up to white on a few holes. Overall, about 6,750 yards. Course was a little dried out. Greens were a bit hairy and slow, but I still enjoyed the round.
They wouldn't honor the 18 holes I made arrangements for
They wouldn't honor the 18 holes I made arrangements for. If you can't accommodate me then take your listing off golf now... very disappointing
Terrible
Well, and I admit its partly my fault for not checking, but since when does someone go to golfnow to pay the same or worse more than they would pay at the course. I chose this course because I was taking my wife and teenager with me. I get to the course and they tell me I have to pay for the cart, which was unexpected and odd. He says well this is what we charge here. Again, not expected because I would pay that price to play this course. My family members who dont golf much noticed how terrible this course is. The conditions were terrible, after a heavy rainfall this course was STILL bonedry which is amazing to me. I would not recommend nor will I be going back to this course
Great greens
Challenging layout. The grass outside the fairway is not difficult to get out of. I found the greens fast but meticulous. It’s a good course overall. Tee boxes for all levels. The cost is ridiculously low and golf now makes it even cheaper. I’m a satisfied golfer
Good value
There are some greens that need some more love but overall the condition of the course overall seems to be improving. If you’re someone like me that looks for cheaper prices to get out as often as possible and continue to try and improve your game then this is a great course to play on a hot deal. If you’re someone that’s looking for the most pristine course around then you’re better off looking elsewhere. I will play here again and hopefully the upward trend will continue. It is evident that the staff here is trying to work the course back into better shape. Pace today was fine. I walked 18 and was done In about 3:45.
Braemar outing
The course is very average on the whole.I do like the front layout much more than the back 9.The grass is pretty sparse.
Cost effective!
Not a well kept course but inexpensive and great for a high handicapper.
Worse Conditions Imagineable
Do Not Go Here to Play Golf!!
If you do, bring you Goat, he'll enjoy it, Crabgrass everywhere!!!
Worst course played in a while. Not worth the cheap price
To start with, when I arrived I was told that I had to pay an additional fee due to paying with a credit card. Who does that anymore? Annoying!
Next, went through 4 carts before finding a cart that was not filthy and was running well.
Had trouble finding hole one. No signage.
At 9a, the irrigation was still on and had to be played as a hazard. Again annoying.
Tees needed cutting and were very weedy.
Fairways were lacking a lot of grass and were like hitting the ball off of concrete. My partner and I topped a lot of balls because you had to hit perfectly in order to hit off rock hard fairways.
Greens were not bad. Some missing grass and disease, but overall they played fast.
I will not be playing here again.
“Drought” conditions
Since the last time I played the course, a couple weeks ago, it has dried out dramatically. There are spots on some fairways that have no grass and a handful of greens have lost some grass. They must’ve watered a lot this morning as there were puddles around some of the greens. The tees required mowing as they were quite shaggy and also wet from heavy watering. At 1 o’clock in the afternoon one of the grounds crew was out raking the traps. He followed me on a couple holes and never shut his machine off until I looked at him to give him the hint that it was annoying.
