Not Nice People
The worst treatment by a golf course I have ever received. Made our reservation, and after friends and I drove over an hour, found out they were having a tournament. No one tried to contact us, no apologies, no offer of any type of compensation...
Great layout, ok conditions
Greens were in good shape and rolled true. Fairways are plush in some areas but they really get bare on the edges! Your either in fairway or dirt. No rough to save you from these type of areas. The layout has great potential and could really be a gem of course conditions were better. I will play this course again but gonna wait till it has time for changes. Avoid bunkers you will destroy your wedge with small rocks!
Greens were still recovering from aeration a couple weeks ago. They were still a bit bumpy but overall were in good shape. Some greens however did have bare spots. The rest of the course was in very good shape. Definitely worth a round.
Course
the course was challenging. Brush up on your uneven lies. Green had crabgrass, need to be reseeded. Tight fairways, you better hit it straight and take plenty golf balls. I would play this course again when the crabgrass is gone. Staff very friendly.
Beware, greens in bad shape.
I called a friend of mine last week that just played Asheboro Country Club. He was very upset because of the price they paid considering the course conditions. They played on a Friday morning so he paid weekend rates. I thought I would check out the conditions for myself so I played on Wednesday September 28 ,4pm the Twilight hours for $19. I have played here many times and usually the course is in decent shape. There are very bad spots on most of the greens with very little smooth / putting surface. Right now this course is only good for a quick practice round for 1 or 2 golfers after 4pm. You will pay $33 or more on the weekend and you will be very disappointed with the pace of play and/or the course conditions .The fairways were decent but the greens were pitiful especially for this time of the year. If you're visiting from out of town read this first then find another course.
true rolled greens!
played 18 holes and was impressed with the greens very fast and true, played other courses and these fairways are 2 weeks ahead of other courses! must play if you like quick rolling greens and nice fairways!
Great Value
My father and I arrived at the course early. Staff was friendly and let us go earlier than our tee time. What a surprise to first find carts are now equipped with GPS. Starting holes had changed. Could tell that a good deal of work is being put into the course. Fairways were in good condition. Greens were great and FAST.
There were a couple areas still needing work but that is true of most public or semi private courses. Found aa group on that allowed us to play for $19 including cart. We were very pleased and will be back. I would highly recommend this course to my friends.
Pace of play
This is a great layout in good condition. However, there were several people on the course, namely the foursome in front of our twosome, who apperaed to not understand or maybe just ignore golf etiquette. We constantly caught up to them, and were not even asked if we wanted to play through. Our back nine took an hour longer than our front because of this. Without a ranger on the course, we had mo recourse but to be stuck behind these apparently rude or ignorant players. On a busy day, please have some marshals on the course.
Is this a golf course or a flea market?
Had an 1108 tee time. At 1100, 12 carts pull up to the tee. 24 people teeing off......unreal!
Fun challenging day
The course is in great shape and the greens are slick. It was a challenge for me, and I didn't score well. We played 36 holes we liked it so much. I enjoyed the day none the less, and had an opportunity to snap a picture from thr #15 tee box overlooking the lake. The staff accommodating and friendly. I plan to play here again as soon as possible.
Challenging
Extremely hilly course especially the back nine. Played for the tips. The yardage says just under 6,500 yards. However, it play much longer than this. Greens are in great shape. The fastest greens I have played this year. Tee boxes need mowing. I thought the grass was to tall. This course is extremely challenging and demanding. Bring you "A" game!
We Won't Be Back
Had some friends come in from out of town and we decided to play ACC because it looked liked a good course and I hadn't played it before. I TOTALLY regret my decision, and my buddies were less than impressed. We had a 4-some booked early Saturday morning, checked in about 25 min before our tee-time. We get up to the 1st tee box only to see 4 entire groups, including a 6-some!!!!! It absolutely blew my mind, they had "overbooked" so bad we didnt tee off until almost 30 min later. Played at a snails pace for the rest of the day.
This course has come a long way in the last year.
This used to be the premier course in the area in it's hey day. However fell on hard times and had a major decline in the condition on the course. But now she is back. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in great shape, except for just a few spots here and there. And around the cart paths in a few places the ground is a little worn. But all in all I am looking forward to playing there again real soon.
ACC has made improvements
The front nine was in very good condition. Some of the back nine had fairways that were not in good condition. Work was being done to clear trees which should open up some of the holes. The greens were in great shape and very fast.
Fairways in bad shape
The fairways were bald in some areas and a lot of trees being cut down. Greens were ok and rate of play was great. Not a goat pasture but not far above it
Not their finest hour
I was not informed that the greens were aerated the day before my round. I was also not told that there was ongoing renovation i.e., ground clearing, fairway landscaping, and tree removal all while I played! The 19th hole and most of the club facilities were unopened or inaccessible all day. It was hands down one of the most unpleasant rounds of golf I've ever subjected myself to.
I drove an hour and a half to get there so I tried to make the best of it by taking the round despite my reservations upon arriving and hearing about the greens, but I was not prepared for the lousy condition of the course as a whole and really wish I'd saved the money and time.
Thank you for playing our course and taking the time to comment. The course has suffered over the last few weeks because we have had a very long and hot summer. We have bentgrass greens, which do not do well when it is as hot as it has been. Many courses have completely lost their bent greens in the region, so we are not the only ones. Please try our course again when it cools down and you will find that the greens are back to normal. You said yourself that usually the course is in decent shape, so why leave us a bad review over one time out? We hope to see you soon. -RS Warrior Golf
