UNC Finley Golf Course

The course was in excellent shape and is very fair. A couple of the holes are pretty hard but if you can keep it in play, it is a great course to play. We played cart path only so it was a little slower and wetter than normal but it was in great shape. The greens were very soft so you did not get much roll after it hit. The last few holes are very tough. I played on a Saturday morning at 8:30 and the grill was closed before the round. I was hoping to get a snack before hand. It was hot but they had plenty of drinking water on course. Very spoiled to have this quality of a course within driving distance.

Early April conditions were as expected. Sandy grrens. Cart path only. But a great layout and a nice practice facility.

First time playing since they reopened after a greens Renovation and a course redesign. The greens were great considering they’ve only be open 6 months. They are very firm still so be prepared for ball not to spin/stop quickly. Green complexes have more severe slopes than before redesign making for some interesting putts.

UNC Finley is a well manicured course. Much thought and pride is visible throughout the course. The moment you drive into the parking lot, there is a sense of a common sense flow . The proshop is well lit and stocked with all possible needs. The green fees include use of the driving range, which has many stalls and a well marked distances, the chipping and putting greens can accommodate many golfers. The comfortable electric carts have a display with course layout and distance information. I look forward to golfing there again. If you haven't played a round at UNC Finley, you will wonder why you didn't go sooner.

Just a great experience overall. The putting and short game area is prestige the range has plenty of space.

Only bad thing is that they are still working on their food and beverage space. So make sure you bring your own drinks and snacks.

A little weird starting off on a par 3 but I kind of like it after playing here a couple times. New greens are awesome? Very fun and challenging layout!

Very nice course, redesigned so GPS did not work on the course. They need to get this updated.

First time playing Finley since the remodel and I really, really wanted to like it but just couldn't get behind some of the changes. Starting with a par 3 feels odd and having 3 out of the first 6 holes as par 3 really takes any kind of thr natural flow put of the course. Multiple tee boxes are stacked right next to greens making for very cramped feel. The 6th green is a stones throw away from the par 5 8th green making for an unsettling feeling while around the green on the 6th. If someone pushes their approach into 8, it could lead to a serious problem for anyone on the 6th green. I also think the course would greatly benefit from flipping the nines. Some of the new green designs are a bit silly with huge mounds in the center but they are in great shape. With all that being said, it's still a fun course in pretty good condition considering time of year and weather. The staff is great as always and the practice facilities are top notch. I really wish I could get behind the redesign more but sadly I just can't.

The course reopened after an extensive redesign last fall (I never played it before). The course is a nice variety of holes with the front 9 having three par 3’s and one par 5, and the back having a more traditional two 3’s and two 5’s. The green complex’s are the main defense for the course as there’s a lot of movement on the greens. The course will only continue to get better as the greens settle and receive shots better. Overall a very enjoyable course to play.

Let's start off with the best....the new Bermuda greens are great! The redesign has some interesting contours on the greens. Sand in the traps is very nice. As others have said, it's funky starting off with a par 3 (I think they should flip the 9's it would flow better). I hope this won't be the case for long but there are no yardage markers anywhere on the course....tee box, sprinkler heads, cart paths. If you don't have a Scope you have an issue.
Overall, a good course, needs some summer heat to kick in the Bermuda in the fairways. Pricey greens fees....unless you luck into a Hot Deal. I'll probably walk it next time, which is very doable.

Course in excellent condition. Beautiful day, so very crowded. As a result, it would have helped to marshal the Course for pace of play.

They say it is a soft rollout but not explained anywhere on the website what that means. That means NO food, NO drinks, NO water, NOTHING...the Turn is NOT open, there is no on course CART service, That means no water or ice in the golf cart...NO amenities. Wait 6 months or a year, then maybe the experience will be worth the price.

They apparently improved drainage with the recent redesign, but that absolutely did not seem like it was the case when we played. 95% of the course was water logged. Everywhere you stepped, water would seep through the ground around your feet. There is immense potential with the redesign and I will likely give the course another shot in the summer, but was a bit disappointed in the condition.
