Great morning of golf
My wife and I booked a Hot Deal at The Pines for an 8:36am tee off. Everyone we met was extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. The course was in very good condition and very open. This played well into my slice which sometimes shows it ugly head.
We were able to tee off before the regulars so our round only took us 3 hours 45 minutes. Never played up on another group which we had to wait for.
Fairways were lush and most greens were in great shape. Some greens had some sand but the pins were placed in areas of grass. Perhaps they had recently been aerated.
We would definitely play again if we were staying in the area.
Course amenities
Excellent golfers lunch special! Prob what makes me go back and play this course other than friendly staff.
The pines a hidden gem
The gentleman in the pro shop was great
The course is open, water and sand bunkers everywhere swing easy and keep your head down and you'll stay out of them.
Take the time to play there you'll enjoy it.
Getting a face lift
The Pines is seeing some new features starting with the addition of yardage stakes and some new fairway bunkers. They are also working on existing bunkers and bulkheads. The course challenges you to play smart golf just gripping it and ripping it will put you in some difficult positions or cost you some strokes. The greens are firm and small so accurate approach shots are a must Looking forward to warmer weather that will stimulate the grass growing.

Coming Back!
Played the Pines for the first time in a long time after leaving there during the YMCA days. My son practiced there this fall with the Camden school team & it still had a ways to go. But they have put a ton of work into the place the last few months and oh my goodness what a difference!! Greens were rolling on par with the higher end courses in the area and the bunkers they are keeping were playable & very decent. I won’t be renewing my membership at the Carolina Club/The Pointe this year but going to join the Pines and keep my money here in this area, the Beach courses don’t need it.
Elizabeth City needs Golf & The Pines!

Good course to play
Enjoyed playing this course again. Greens need work but the staff has done good job getting it back now that it has re-opened. Will definitely play it again.
Nice course to play
Have played this quite a few times and it is a fun place to play. The greens still need some work since they reopened. The staff has done a great job cleaning it up and keeping it looking good. I will definitely play it again.
Great first time!
Staff was exceedingly nice and accommodating, and the course layout was difficult but beautiful. Some of the greens were a little rough but most were fantastic. I recommend high viz balls as white balls get lost in the pine needles, but highly recommend this course
Terrible course, Poor management
The pines used to be a very well maintained course. Since reopening, The course is terrible, the course has now been re opened for over a year and there has been no change. the lazy grounds crew would rather shoot roman candles at the geese and fish the ponds instead of cutting the grass, the tee boxes and fairways are always very long, it takes a whole hour to clean a bunker out yet every bunker on the course is basically grass and as hard a cement, they have edged the sidewalks on the whole course but didn’t clean up the overhang. the old people there think they own the course. the pines needs help.
Wow! We are so happy you enjoyed your round! We look forward to seeing you again soon at The Pines at Elizabeth City.
