Challenging 9 hole track
Sally Creek will test every part of you game as at times target golf with the odd opportunity to grip and rip. Situated in a beautiful creek valley where the creek comes into play several times. Worth the trip.
Sally Creek Golf Club
A challenging track I've been meaning to play for some time. I was not disappointed. Water comes into play on almost every hole and the greens roll flat and true and are well bunkered.
Upper Thames Brewery has taken over the Bistro, so there's lots of local beer selections available on the course and in the restaurant - after your round.
Pleasant Surprise !
This course is as well maintained as any of the private clubs in south western Ontario. Better hit em straight..
A quality 9 hole course. Not an executive course!
This course offers a picturesque & challenging 9 holes of good variety. It's tight enough that it demands that you manage your game. If you don't control your ball you'll be digging in the bag a lot.
A fairly easy walk for most people. Perhaps not ideal for seniors but most who accept walking as part of the game will have little trouble here.
Always enjoyable playing here!!
Quaint
Sally Creek is a quaint golf course close to the city of Woodstock. There is no pro shop to confirm your t time, other than a desk inside the Bistro. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The course itself was well maintained and offers 4 T-boxes for different levels of players, bunkers, doglegs, water hazards, bogs, elevations and narrow fairways; all tucked into 9 holes. I booked a 4 some through GOLF NOW for 18 holes but was told, upon arrival, that we could only play 9 due to a company function. I did not know this at the time of the booking. We were given 2 carts for free and allowed to rebook the other 9 holes at a later date. Well worth the green fees. GOLF NOW needs to confirm these bookings before allowing the transaction. .
I love the layout
Great value, ill recommend this course to my friends
Nice course!
Very fun course to play. An average player should plan on bringing a lot of extra balls.
Excellent value
We are moving to Woodstock and were quite anxious to play this course. We were not disappointed, The course was in excellent shape and challenging enough to make our first round very interesting. We will be playing this course a lot after we move.
Good value, great course.
This was our first time playing. We are moving to the Sally Creek area so we thought we would try it out. We really enjoyed the course and will definitely be back.
nice course, but only for 9 hole play
Found the course to be in good condition, but pace of play wasn't good.
The front nine was slow until we got around the singleton we let go before us. On our second time round it was extremely slow. The twosome ahead of us were continually searching for their lost balls. It took 45 minutes to play 2 holes. Very long second nine!!! Somewhat frustrating to say the least
Perhaps a marshall would help here. Would recommend it, but only for 9 hole play
Where was the ranger
My wife and I enjoyed the first nine, enjoyed the challenge, moved along nicely in under two hours walking. The second time around the same nine holes was as frustrating as it could be thanks to the twosome in a cart ahead of us. At over an hour to play 3 holes, any rhythm we had disappeared quickly. Probably will play again, but never an 18 hole round
Friendly staff & great value
We had a great day. It started with a friendly staff member at the pro shop. We walked the course twice for our 18 holes, and played at our speed. We let a single and a two on a cart play through. Overall for this time of year the course was in great shape and the greens were good.
It is a great and challenging course.
This golf course is a hidden gem. It is a challenging course. Especially, they manage greens very well and I like it.
Great course
This is a regulation 9 hole course. It has some obstacles which makes for some challenging holes. The course is very well kept. There are rolling streams that are pleasant to look at as well as pose some challenges when golfing. There are lush trees with lots of natural vegetation. A pleasure to golf.
Challenging course but beautiful landscape.
I only golf once a week if that so it was quite challenging for me- Also walking it was long at times between holes but glad I did it!
Very windy that day so even made for more of a challenge- Staff was working on the greens which held us up some.
great new course
This course although a little short, but it was in excellent condition. shot making needed to be accurate with many hazzards and the greens were challenging with no flat lies anywhere - great afternoon
A New Favourite
This was our first time at Sally Creek. The course was in great shape and we were very impressed with the course layout. Club selection is critical as missing the landing area will likely mean a lost ball! We will definitely be back to Sally Creek.
Pleasant Surprise
Been thinking about playing here for some time. Finally done and glad I did. The course is really nice, set along the creek with lovely scenery and topography changes. Green's are quite large with lots of contours and quick. Nice challenge. Lots of water and hazards, but you can still play the course and score well. We walked the first nine in 1:30, took a cart for the second round and pace was slower at 2:30. Had a drink at the Bistro and would look forward to returning for more golf and this time a meal.
A wonderful experience
My wife is a 30 handicap... I'm a 3... and both found the course challenging.
Because of the layout of the holes, landing area, one should play it twice 2 x 9... we played only 9 holes.
Bistro after golf was great, perfect food at great prices.
