I will play this course again.
Good golf course with lots of undulation and a few holes you will play better the 2nd time around. The north end of the course slopes rather severely to the north and these are the holes you will learn where not to hit it. That being said, bunkers and greens were excellent. Port Angeles has had a dry summer so the fairways were a little brown in spots, but the grass seemed healthy and you get a lot of roll with these conditions. REALLY nice people in the pro shop, restaurant and on the course. PLUS Port Angeles is located near the Straits of Juan De Fuca and the gorgeous Olympic Mountains so there is lots to do in Port Angeles.
Top of the line course don't miss it
While traveling to Olympic national Park I got a chance to play this amazing course. Excellent greens, manicure fairway and the beauty of the NW you just can not miss. The staff was so helpful it was such a great time.
If you are close by or coming on vacation bring your clubs and do not miss this gem.
Peninsula play
A little gem in Port Angeles. A friend recommended awhile back but never got opportunity to try until recently. Played the tips and I enjoyed the test. Most of course is played on the side of hills. Par 5''s are all pretty much reachable in two w/ good drive and 2nd shot. Good variety of par 4's with some being in the neighborhood of 400+ yds. Par 3's were challenging. Greens were aerated about 1month ago so a tad bit slow for my liking. However they rolled smoothly...will try again when they get green speeds back up. Their greens had some nice slope to them and my guess is this is where the course can challenge players and protect itself from long hitters.
Pro shop was most helpful for my 1st time play and provided me w/a yardage guide.and some course info. If this is your 1st time playing...it can be confusing figuring where to go from hole to hole. I had to look a scorecard or ask where to go in a few instances. Will be back to break 70 next time. Great price on GolfNow.
Weekend getaway
The views are spectacular and the course was in good shape. The greens had been punched about 2 weeks ago and a little bumpy yet. The price of this semi/private course was great. However we rented a cart. $15.00 per person, which we thought was a bit high and did not have a gps. They gave us a course lay out book that helped greatly. The hole markings were a bit confusing. Found out the original course was 9 holes built in 1927 and the other 9 in 1977. It was not very busy, finished in 3 1/2 hours!,,
A Good Test of Skils
A challenging hillside course with great views of the Puget Sound. The greens and bunkers were in excellent condition. The fairways were dry and hard due to the current drought conditions in the NW.
Pace of play was slow - mainly due to a fivesome in
front of us.
The majority of fairways call for accurate tee shots.
And many of the greens are raised and surrounded by severe drop offs and bunkers!
This course is a good test of your skill and patient level.
A parting tip - all puts break towards the Puget Sound.
A pleasant surprise
Some of the best greens I've ever putted on and the views are awesome. Challenging in that there are no flat lies on the course except for the tee boxes which were like putting surfaces. A little hilly for walking, but okay if you're in shape.
Quite a challenge
Course was in great condition, some holes are very challenging. Loved the layout.
wdt and sunny
The greens we're
Hard and the fairways we're pretty wet
great course
Had fun, this was my 10th time playing. It's usually pretty spendy to play here, got a hot deal this time. Course was under construction on a couple holes. Also carts were restricted to paths, " if you weren't a member " ... Weird. Overall great place to golf for all experience levels. Very hard to lose a ball on this course.
Challenging course
Great course and friendly staff! Winter conditions has greens and fairways saturated with water. I do recommend this course to others.
Winter Play but a nice round
I was pushing it thinking the temp was just warm enough to thaw out the frozen course (at 1100 am it was 39). Overall the course was slightly frosted but played fairly true. The further down the hill (lower elevation) the better the course got. I could get the tee to go into the ground on those holes. I'll play it again for sure, when the temp is a little warmer. Great crew, always friendly and welcoming.
Hidden gem!
This is a hidden gem on the Olympic Peninsula. The sweeping views of both the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Olympic mountain range only enhance the experience. The undulating terrain makes for some creative holes. It is challenging without being the slightest bit frustrating. The course is very well maintaned, the cost is very reasonable, and staff is the kindest I've ever encountered. Two thumbs up!
