Poor Greens
The course itself does have some potential, however, the current conditions are poor. Every green was covered in weeds, putting was an adventure to say the least. Several puts bounced along the green and at times bounced clear out of line. If you like mysterious greens the Bay Pointe is the place for you.
Mr Randy was awesome!!!
Course didn't open until 9am due frost on ground but Mr Randy came to the rescue and let us tee off at 9am! Greatly appreciated! Will be back because of Mr. Randy!
Stopped in Jackson, MS on our way down to New Orleans and decided to give this course a shot.
As I learned, at the time I played Bay Pointe this area of the south has been experiencing a drought… and it showed. To be fair I am not going to rate or comment on the course conditions. Instead, given the rest of my experience I am choosing to assume that with some rain the course conditions would be fantastic, and I do look forward to returning one day to find out.
Things I Liked
- The layout is excellent! Bay Pointe has a lot of doglegs which puts a premium on your tee shots.
- The second shot on #15 was a challenge I look forward to having again.
- The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Things I Did Not Like
- Bay Pointe has a lot of doglegs, which put a premium on your tee shots! :)
Thing Important to Me
- Though there are a few hills, overall the course is very walkable.
- The rates were reasonable.
- No branded ball marker. :(
Great layout. Friendly staff
Bay Pointe has a great layout- challenging and fun. The staff and golfers were all friendly. Great value.
Rain on Me
There has been no rain in this region since June. Please bring this course rain, fertilizer, lots of grass seed and a miracle, because the fairways are dead. The course greens are in fantastic shape, as they still water them. The practice range was in good shape. The staff has always been friendly.
Greens are excellent right now
This area has been in a drought for over two months, but the greens are very good!
Good luck avoiding the trees
If you want to test your skill play this course. It challenges you on many levels without threatening you with too many bunkers.
Overall nice course
Was playing the course for the first time and was pleasantly surprised the course was in decent shape even though it had taken a beating by some storms that came through a few days ago. They had about 20+ trees that were down and had done a great job getting the course back into playing shape. Some of the greens were beat up but overall, it was a decent track. Plan to play it again when I return to town in the future!
Bad greens
Greens were mostly sand. Many water hazards so bring lots of balls. Beautiful, hilly course. Very challenging.
Florida Visitor
What a fun experience. Friendly staff and very accommodating allowing me to go off the back 9 as there was a group scramble going off the front, with no issue making the turn. Challenging layout that was fun to play. Grounds crew working hard to get recovered from heavy rain. Much different than southwest Florida golf courses I am used to playing. If you want a challenge, play this course.
Bring your A golf game
Always challenging and one of my favorite area courses due to the well kept greens great course layout.
Value Golf Experience
The course is set in the woods, is very tight, and has lots of water. Besides that, it was fun to play. Course has seen lots of rounds as the tee boxes are in pretty rough shape. Good course for the cost of play. Would play again, but would not be my first choice when visiting Jackson.
For coming off a VERY wet week/weekend it played pretty well. Only got to play the back 9 b/c the front floods very easily, not the courses fault. Greens were a little hairy & patchy but more than likely due to the immense amount of rain we had throughout the week and Saturday. Fairways were in great shape per usual. Didn’t catch the guys name in the pro shop but he was great. Not the usual person I see but it has been a year since I’ve played here due to a back injury. But I can say if he is the new guy this course in all aspects will be getting an upgrade. One thing i did like that’s new to me here, is the carts have a gps on them that have yardage for the players. All in all I’d recommend playing here. Good price for a good course.
