Golfers standing on the Ranch’s first tee might feel, for a second, that they’re on a links course. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The seventh green. This hole is typical of the par-4’s here: fairly long and definitely challenging. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The ninth, par-5, 540. “Glacier,” as this hole is dubbed, plays straight downhill. And a bad drive may lead to a “meltdown.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Sixteen, par-5, 618. Another dramatic downhiller named “Ski Hill,” which certainly suggests the thrill of playing it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The 18th: par-4, 438. A fitting closer, but also a hole that captures the beauty of New England golf at its finest. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

I’m New Play Through
Greeted like a VIP, course is beautiful, and the staff were more than kind to me!
The Ranch
Course is great condition considering the rainy spring. Still., one of the best courses in New England.
Ranch is the Best
Well we LOVE the RANCH like most everyone that plays there , unfortunately the greens are just not filling in from aeration and are extremely bumpy still, other than that we had another great day at the course!
One of my favorites
Would love to give this a 5 star review but the pace of play this last round was absolutely miserable! 5 hours for a round in April is crazy!
A true gem
The Ranch is one of my favorite courses in New England. Pristine and challenging, it has many of the amenities of a top-end resort course but without the pretentiousness. Much of the course's challenges lie with the elevation changes, which also provide stellar views. Good shots are rewarded, off-course shots are punished, and the course is scorable without being repetitive. I'll make this course an annual trek and look forward to that tee time every fall.
Humbling Experiance
This course was a wonderful track. Hitting the fairways was vital to a good score. If you drifted too far off, the fescue made it difficult to find your ball.
The layout was challenging with some very picturesque holes.
I will definately return!
Love the layout and challenge.
Everything but the pace of play was excellent. Love the course. One of my favorites in New England. This was a rare occurrence.
Great conditions, great year for THE RANCH!
Yesterday was my fifth time playing the ranch this year, and it did not disappoint. Greens were the fastest they’ve been all year, and the overall conditions were fabulous. I’m widely considered to be a total golf snob so when I tell you the course in the conditions were terrific, you can bet on it. I belong to (2) TPC’s & if I play a public course, it better be a good one, The Ranch is worth the drive.
I love the layout of this course I think the par fives are awesome to play! The views are beautiful and then another month they will be exceptional.
They are getting all new carts next year, which is needed badly, if they could just put a little money into the parking lot, a few of the common-areas between holes, and the bathroom facilities at the clubhouse, I would say this would be the a number one course in northern Connecticut southern Mass.
Return
Always enjoy playing the course. Couldn't believe carts were allowed on course given all the rain the area has gotten, obviously great drainage.
Wonderful Round of Golf
Beautiful course in exceptional condition. Lots of elevation, lots of trees, lots of sand. You need to consider where all of the hills are before deciding on the break of your putt. No two holes are alike. Very enjoyable day!
