Waterlefe Golf & River Club
Played On 08/19/2017Beautiful course, TONS of water.
Really nice. Really fun. Lots of water.
Played here for just $40 because greens had recently been worked on. They were still in pretty great shape, so it was a huge bargain.
Played from the "Eagle" tees (essentially the blue's). Length was rarely an issue. If you can control your driver you can really go low here. There is as much water here as you'll find on any course. Water hazards on just about every hole. Be sure to check the layout before each hole, as here is some water you wont see behind some hills from the tee box.
While there is a lot of water to avoid off the tee box, it rarely came into play on approach shots. Rough around the greens is very playable. Greens didont have a ton of slop, and they played pretty slow for us.
Summary: Hit your driver straight. Attack the flag on approach, theres room to spare.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - International
Played On 08/15/2017Beautiful course, VERY tough.
Champions Gate is a really amazing facility. Courses are always in incredible condition and the staff is great. Personally, I'm really not a big fan of the International course. On 4, 6, 7 and 10 you either have to be dead on with driver, or you have to lay up. It was tough getting into much of a rhythm. The course to me seems like a mix and match of 18 holes they didn't include on the National or Country Club courses. With that being said, the course was still in impeccable shape and the staff was great, as always. I highly recommend Champions Gate, but I feel that the International course is the lesser of the 3 options.
