Bear Creek Golf Complex - Cub Course
Played On 11/04/2015Great executive course for a beginner to intermediate player.
I really enjoyed my first visit to the cub course. I have played the Bear, in the middle of the grueling summer. The day I played at the Cub course was colol with some light rain on the first 5-6 holes. A shaky start, I birdied by the sixth hole. The grass is very lush and well-kept. The water hazard at the 18th hole offers the most challenge. Overall, a very fun course for a leisure day of practice.I plan to return.
Coronado Golf Course
Played On 08/30/2015A fun 9 hole for some short game practice.
It was a pleasurable afternoon. The course is fun with only a few minor challenges. The pace was great; no golfers behind me and I had the opportunity to play multiple balls. The hazards weren't so bewildering; I was able to recover errant balls from the bushes and water. Overall it was fun and I will return for more much needed par 3 practice.
Superstition Springs Golf Club
Played On 08/22/2015One of my favorite courses in the Valley.
I love this course. The fairways and roughs are very well kept. The landscaping, trees, creeks, ponds make the course extremely attractive and an enjoyment to play. The bunkers have perfect grain sand. The GPS on the cart is a very useful tool. The staff are very friendly. Overall, I would rate Superstition Springs to be one the best in the area.
Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
Played On 08/16/2015One of my Local Favorites
I always enjoy Rolling Hills. It is a good course for the weekend hobbyist. The pace of play is usually quick and the holes are somewhat challenging for the amateur weekend golfer.
Foothills Golf Club
Played On 07/26/2015Very nice course
The course itself was fun and challenging. The main facilities were closed, with only the barest amenities available. The ball washers were dry. The fairways were very well kept and neatly groomed. I found the roughs and first cut off the green to be extremely frustrating; when it grabs on the ball it's like Venus FlyTrap. The bunkers were scary; very steep and hard to get out of on one stroke.
Ahwatukee Country Club
Played On 07/18/2015Nice design, needs better grass.
I liked the design of the course. Good points were the length of the holes, placement of water hazards and bunkers. The main irritation was the quality of the turf and fairways. There was a lot clumpy type rough and many patches of bare earth on the fairways. The day I went had few golfers, so I was pleased with the quick pace of play. I like links-type courses that meander through the suburbs. Overall a decent experience, but needs some reseeding.
And we cant wait for you to return! Next time, we hope you grab a birdie on the very first hole! See you at the Cub Course soon!
