The Tattersall Youth Development Center at The First Tee Chesterfield Golf Course
Played On 03/11/2021Early in the season in Richmond
I have played this course numerous times and the current conditions are consistent with the emergence from winter and recent ice storms. At current the tee boxes, fairways and greens are various shades of brown and tan. It will begin to green up with the continued coming of spring. I will be back.
The Tattersall Youth Development Center at The First Tee Chesterfield Golf Course
Played On 06/01/2020A great short course
With the phased opening the course adheres to masks indoors, no need to remove the pin and the cup set up allows easy ball retrieval using a pool noodle. Course conditions are more than acceptable. It is evident the course is being cared for.
The Club At Viniterra
Played On 06/15/2018Excellent course
This is a very well cared for course nestled among the wine vineyards of New Kent -East of Richmond. Sand trap placement can offer excellent challenges and water will get you if you let your guard down. Multiple tee box option to accommodate both big hitter, low and high handicap players. Outstanding practice facilities and they just recieved a new fleet of golf carts equipped for charging smartphones. I look forward to returning.
Dogwood Trace Golf Course
Played On 06/07/2018Great course
This beautiful gem is nestled in the historic Petersburg area. One of the best municipal golf courses I have played. Outstanding conditions. You will use every club in your bag. The new practice faculty is excellent. There is also a new onsite restaurant that makes great lunches, or you can restocks on your beverages.
Dogwood Trace Golf Course
Played On 03/06/2017Gem of Petersburg
The town itself is going through some hard times and the area is a little socioeconomically depressed, however, you would never know it when you are on the course. This is a gem of a course in southern Virginia. I have played here multiple times at various times of the year. It is very well maintained and they have recently completed construction of a new clubhouse. There is also a restaurant within the clubhouse you can refresh with both adult beverages and softdrinks. Also completed recently is practice are to include sand traps and chip shots from the rough. If you are in the are, do not miss out on theis gem of a course.
Cimarrone Golf Club
Played On 03/01/2017Would play again
While attending a business conference at Sawgrass I found this course on golf now. The course is well groomed and very easy to navigate. The pace of play was very nice and the staff very laid back. I enjoyed my first round so much that I returned prior to my conference ending. I found the water hazards to be more prevalent on this course than any other I have played (maybe because I was in the water more than the fairways).
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 11/28/2016Floating islands
My first visit to the course and what do I hear from the staff at the check in desk....floating islands at the driving range? I had never seen or experienced this and it was so cool. You get very into trying to land that range ball on the island. The course itself is very professional looking in terms of its upkeep. I noticed a great many water hazards during the round accompanied by an equal number of sand traps. The pro shop was very well laid out and if you go at the right time of year, you find some really great deals. The replay option is nice if you have more than one day to spend.
Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run
Played On 06/02/2016Needs a bit of work
This was my first outing at Golden Bear and I was profoundly disappointed in the course conditions. The greens fees were overpriced given the condition during my round. To be fair, there was a hurricane level storm that had passed through Hilton Head a few days prior to my round, however that does not explain the rough greens. There was more sand in the grass than I had seen at any other course making putting very difficult. Lots of gators in the water so be warned. Fairways were not as bad as the greens, but are fairly open and playable. I may take one more chance at a round on this course but if the green are in the same condition I will not return. The staff was very friendly and accommodating from arrival to departure, however there was no discount or warning about the rough shape of the greens.
Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort
Played On 06/01/2016Will be back
This was the 2nd consecutive year playing this course with co-workers. Loved the experience. Well kept in all respects. The fairways were not spotty and all noticeable divots were under repair. The rough is exactly as it sounds....rough. Greens were excellent and I can say they were one shade if the green color rather than the green with spotty brown patches. The sand traps were suitable for beach chair and the signature hole is worth a picture. I found the staff to be very friendly (despite the heat) and I can't wait for my next round on this memorable course. The only thing to be careful of is every water hazard probably has some alligators in it - leave the ball and take the drop.
Glendale Golf Course
Played On 08/30/2015Great golf
This municipal course was a real treat. There are not many cart paths so be careful where you ride. The course was in very excellent shape in terms of greens and fairways. Some water hazards and sufficient sand traps to catch the unwary golfer. I was able to enjoy this course twice during my visit to Salt Lake City and would re-visit it again when I am in the area.
Able to get 18 holes in walking on nice sunny day. The wind can be hard to adjust to as is the strategically located sand traps that I found made me focus well. Played better in back nine(learned to adjust). Not a lot iof shade may suggest cart , pack water, and have a blast-great value!
Thank you for your review! We apologize that you did not fully enjoy your experience at our course, but we're glad that our staff was friendly and accommodating. Our greens are above par now and we hope to see you back soon for another round at Golden Bear!
