Top 3 in OC. Bring your A game and a camera.

The course in great shape "as usual" staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Pick the right tee for an enjoyable day especially if the wind is blowing and don't just look at the yardage the large, undulating greens make two putts very difficult if you are on the wrong tier. Holes #8 and #16 worth the greens fees alone. Book it now and you will not be disappointed!

Still a must play in OC

Lighthouse is still a top 5 in OC. Where it ranked will depend on your preferences. I have it #3 behind Peninsula (private but can play with Victory Golf Pass) and Bayside. Best views by far! Most difficult, as well, if it is a windy day. Not a good place to let your ego pick your tees or it will be a long miserable day. Great staff from bag drop to Pro. The pro Scot Dailey is the most down to earth Pros you will ever meet.

The only negative is I must have followed the "let's NOT fix our ball marks" tour. I fixed at least 3 per hole. I think I might have to regrip my digit tool! Its hard to put this on the maintenance crew, it's the players. Here is a great rule of thumb for every course: for every ball mark you make you should fix two. PLEASE!

Is it pricey? yes but worth the twilight/GolfNow price all day long.

Great layout in great shape

Great layout at White Clay which is one of the best course for the money in a 60 mile radius. Choose the tees wisely, especially in the wind. You will use every club in your bag, from layup par 4's to 540 yes par 5's (which I eagled! thanks wind) Super friendly staff; from the clubhouse to the player assistant. Great practice facilities so arrive early to hone your game. I will be back!

A great challenging layout with friendly staff

A must play! A challenging layout that puts a premium on accurate tee shots. Bring lots of balls if you spay it off the tee. Be prepared to manage the wind as well.

Nice course with great views

Played while visiting son at WVU. The cheaper of the two at Lakeview. Challenging elevation changes. Good layout with only 2-3 holes that are side by side. Course knowledge will definitely help for next time, and I will be back. The rough is brutal. Lost at least 3 balls no more than 2 feet off the fairway. And if you do find your ball good luck advancing it more than 20 yards. Didn't know if that was on purpose or simply a lack of maintenance. Cart paths or rough and make you feel like you are in a Hummer in Afghanistan. I almost lost my bag on one of the bumps so be careful.

Great links course but greens were beat up.

Ball marks everywhere, I repaired at least 6 per hole!! I blame the players and the course staff. If you preach green repair people will at least try. Normally in great shape, the greens were the worst I played this week (Baywood, Bear Trap, Rum Point, and even Newport Bay)

I loved the links layout and will be back but I sure hope they start preaching repair.

Basic golf

Good 36 hole layout mostly tree lined. Very friendly staff and they do a great job with the course considering the amount play and the low cost. Great course for beginners but challenging enough from the tips for the low handicapper. .

Great greens but you need GPS

Played Newport Bay, the better of the two courses at OCGC, and was impressed. Great greens, and lets face it, that is really what you are paying for in OC. The biggest draw back is that there are no GPS units on the carts and there are too many holes that require precise layups.

Great deal on a good course

Great layout. Both nines challenging but very playable. Use every club in the bag. Front tees are great for beginners while back tees can challenger even the low handicappers.

A must play if you are within 100 miles.

We drove an hour and 45 minutes and would do it again tomorrow! Links at Gettysburg is a great course. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. It has some memorable holes, including #3 which is a downhill par 3 with a 40 ft. slate wall as the backdrop. # 7 is an awesome par 5 with an elevated tee with a landing area with water on both sides. And #8 a drivable par 4 with 20 ft. wall down the right side of the fairway, which I used as a backstop. Hey, it's not how but how many, right?. You finish the day with a great par 5 finishing hole, reachable in 2 for the big hitters. The green is surrounded by another slate wall and some water. It was another great day at the Links of Gettysburg, make the trip you will not be disappointed.

The only negative was that the carts did not have GPS but the course is well marked.

Great course, Great staff

This was my first time playing the course and was very impressed with my whole experience. The staff was extremely friendly from the starter to pro shop. Played twilight on Fathers Day and it was a bit crowded and slow but was given a discount voucher for a future round. Which they did not have to do but was appreciated, try to get that at your local municipal course. Played the white tees which were a bit short but Jack Nicklaus told us all week to "play it forward!" Great variety of holes. Some blind tee shot but nothing tricky. Greens, tee boxes, fairways were all in good shape. I will definitely be back.

A MUST PLAY within 100 miles

Golf at its finest. A must play for any serious golfer within 100 miles. Drove 1 hour and 45 minutes to play after getting ANOTHER incredible deal through GolfNow. Afterwards we agreed to return even at full price!

The course has it all. Elevation changes, mounded fairways, awesome par 3's, short drive-able 4's, long 3 shot par 5's, just a great layout. The course was is great shape. Perfect tee boxes, well maintained fairways and thick rough. The greens were great, they were receptive to well hit irons and kept their speed even in the rain. Pick the right tee boxes, whites were a little short but still challenging, probably should have played the gold. Next time!!!

Good greens but that where it ends.

Basic golf. Tee boxs and fairways are very rough but the greens are worth the $30 I paid. The entire course is tree lined. There are a couple of drivable par fours and lots of dog legs that require accurate irons off of the tee.

Bring your A game!

The most beautiful course in the area. Let me start by saying we played in 20-30 mph wind gusts, and still had a good time. We found the greens too be very fast and the rough very high. Pick the right tees or you are in for a long day. A must play if you are in the area but wait until twilight for the best deals.

Lots of Water

How much water? If you are not a straight driver, I would bring a ball retriever. Due to an injury my son could not play but he collected 52 golf balls. Don't worry it wasn't crowded and he didn't slow up play.

Bear Trap has a great layout. Although it doesn't cover a lot of acreage the dunes separate the holes nicely. You never feel like you are top of each other on the course. I played all 3 nines over Spring Break and was very impressed. As with all of the beach courses the best deals are in the afternoon. If you are in the area this is a top 5 place to play.
