Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 07/15/2022Nice course
Nice course. On the easier side of play.Tee boxes and fairways were in very good condition. Greens are very slow compared to other courses; some traps had hard packed sand/little sand.
Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 07/06/2022Nice, Good Condition
Played on a weekday. Had a 4-some almost a noon tee time. Took almost 4.5 hours. Fairways & bunkers were in good condition. Greens were very slow compared to other courses I have played recently. Nice to have a drink cart going around the course on a hot day. Cart had an issue (I think #76 - at least in the #70's). Slowed to about half speed (or less) when the pedal was fully depressed. Figured out after several holes - if pressed less than to the floor it would sort of move along nicely but not consistently.
Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 07/18/2021Over played / over booked + entrance blocked!
Had a very difficult time entering the development to get to the clubhouse. Paving work on the road into S. Hampton had the entire intersection closed! They kept waiving me past the intersection and would not let me in. Finally had to stop traffic in the middle of the intersection to find out we had to enter through the next shopping center. BAD - NO DETOUR SIGNS POSTED + NO NOTICE.
When I got to the clubhouse / course I paid for my round then went to get a cart so I could unload our stuff into the cart. No carts outside and the (not) friendly guy in the cart barn told me I could NOT have a cart till 30 minutes before my tee time! They had well over 50 carts in the barn all ready to go out. When I finally waited 30 minutes and got the cart he told me the others, in the tee time group, were already here and would meet me on the first tee. HOW DID THEY. GET CARTS BEFORE THE 30 Minutes? Total BS!
Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 07/12/2021Not so good!
Rain / downpour.. Course was swamped. Could have finished 9 but pace of play was very slow - hit the ball and wait; back-up at most tee boxes. Just barely finished 7-holes before the downpour. Did get a 50% off raincheck. Greens were bad again, just sanded - same last time I played this course about 6-weeks ago. Tee boxes were worn and hard; fairways were in good condition.
Kiskiack Golf Club
Played On 11/03/2017A nice fall day!
A nice fall day! Started out at about 10 and temps were in the upper 60's warmed up from then. When we finished temp's were almost 80. Plenty of fall leaves all over the course & greens. Had a good pace of play, two groups let us play thru them - thank God! Sometimes things can back-up at this course. Saw the ranger once. A bit no frills - no tee's or towels in the cart.
Ford's Colony Country Club - Blackheath Course
Played On 10/30/2017I love this place!
I love this place - Fords Colony! They have 3, 18-hole golf courses. This (Marsh Hawk) was the standard course for guests. Pace of play was very good, invited to get around a slow 2-some, and then a 4-some. Despite the cold and wind it was a good day. A nice place to play, plenty of class, and friendly people.
Ford's Colony Country Club - Blackheath Course

Golf course of choice!
I always try to play one of the three golf courses at Fords Colony. Especially when I can get a low rate. Great place to play on any of the 3 courses. The courses are in very good condition.
The Pines Golf Course at Fort Eustis - Virginia Pines/Ponderosa Pines
Played On 11/07/2016Great value for $10 - 18 holes w/cart
Great value for $10 - 18 holes w/cart. Be aware that you are entering a US Military base and your vehicle will be checked and inspected!
They have 3, 9-hole courses. Probably a step or two up from a public course. But no frills (no: tees, towels, cart help, and rangers). The first 9-hole course was empty - I was about the only one out. The next 9-hole course was almost empty! Nothing too challenging and mostly flat. Fairways and greens were in good condition. Rough was very deep and with the leaves on the ground I lost 3-4 balls in the deep grass.
Blue Sky Golf Club
Played On 06/07/2016Nice public course!
I played with 3 other new friends. All about 100 golfers. Course was nice, in fairly good condition. Some sand and worn spots on the greens. Greens had been recently airated. Conditions were wet - we played the day after some big storms, it it was expected. Had a bit of a problem with the golf cart - would not always go, jumped, and battery faded near the end -'thought we were going to have to walk the last hole. Finished in just over 4 hours so not bad. Probably better than I anticipated -'all in all.
Williamsburg National Golf Club - Jamestown Course
Played On 05/15/2016Much better choices elsewhere and for less $
Bad, bad, bad! I would be very unhappy if I was a member of this course!
A bag of practice balls was $5 - a good deal. However, the range was so chewed up that it was difficult to get solid footing. The rental golf cart was a gas cart and it jumped ahead and then just about died - ran like my lawn mower and about the same speed but was sooooo stinky from the exhaust about made me sick.
They have 2 courses - neither course has been maintained! I started on the Jamestown course and after 9 switched to Yorktown because the pace of play was so slow. The weeds in the center of the fairway were about 6" above the fairway grass - if you could call it grass. The rough was weeds, dirt, and clover. The sand traps were hard packed and looked like they have not been raked or graded in weeks. On the front 9 (Jamestown) the pins were so loose in the cups that they all leaned over in the cup.
Not the place to go for a nice round of golf. Much better choices for less $ in and around Williamsburg VA. Wonder if this place may be going under.
The Club At Viniterra
Played On 04/11/2014Great Day!
They had just airiated and sanded the greens so putting was rough. Must be a beautiful place when the trees open and the grass is free.
Kiskiack Golf Club
Played On 6/10/2013Nice place! Very slow round.
Nice place for a round of golf. Very few water holes on this course. No homes, which some folks like. So overall not real difficult. Course was in good condition. Very friendly staff. No frills!
Had a very, very slow round. Started as a single, went around one hole to avoid a 4 some that was painfully slow, joined a two some (nice guys) and finally finished. Pace was so slow it interrupted the pace of play. Must have had some kind of outing.
Deercreek Country Club
Played On 10/9/2012Nice place for a round of golf.
Nice 18 hole course for a round of golf in Jacksonville Florida. I played on a Tuesday and not too many players were on the course - a good thing. Two ladies in front of us let me play thru on the third hole. Everyone was nice and friendly.
Course is laid out in groups of holes around single family homes. So you have several long stretches on the cart path / side of the residential street between the groups of holes (and I mean long - as it is a ride)!
Course is well maintained and some of the holes are very interesting. Water, woods/trees, and homes are common on most holes.
Ford's Colony Country Club - Blackheath Course
Played On 09/24/2012One of my favorites!
First class!
Exceptional golf!
Great place for a few rounds. Nice practice area too.
Play any or all of their three courses. My favorite is Marsh Hawk.
Suggest you request an electric cart. The gas carts are too put-put and smelly. Nice clubhouse, wish it had a better view.
