Not worth it

Played the mountain course. It’s target only, resort golf. Mud on every teeball (in the afternoon, it had not rained). Does not allow for varying types of shots to be played. Even bunkers are wet underneath surface. No chance of playing the course the way the designers intended with these conditions.

Brasada Canyons Golf Course

For $164/player mow the greens!

Greens were slow, they were not mown. Also the tees were not mown. It has not rained in a while so there was not a reason they should not have been.

The back tees were not set up. When I called the pro shop to ask why they said we only do that for tournaments. I played one ups only 6500 at elevation so it plays very short. Hit 2 irons off the tees.

The cart path between holes 2 and 3 was being paved. So we had to take a 30 minute cart ride detour to get to 3.

Beverage golf service was not open. No water on the course. The review from a year ago made note of no water I guess BRASADA doesn't care.

Cabins are nice. Food and drinks are $$$. $7 bud lights and $13 well drinks during happy hour.

Big disappointment. Actually huge disappointment. Came from Arizona for this. Cancelled our 2nd round here. Won't come back.

obnoxious experience

The starter from New York was so obnoxious. He told us "Cart path only on 1,14,and 15." We said "okay no problem." Then he demanded we write it down, to circle 1,14,15 on the scorecard. Next, he literally acted as if we weren't allowed to play the back tees. After drilling us on our handicaps he walked us to the 1st tee and stood a few feet away while we hit. When I hit a breakfast ball, he literally shook his head at me\us.

The course layout and pace of play were great, however, we were often hitting with maintenance staff working in the fairways and sometimes right next to greens. Literally working in the location i wanted to position my drive. We politely waited on a couple occasions for the workers to move aside, they diidnt. Waving at them did not help either.

Obviously, the course is transitioning to summer grasses but it also appears TPC wants it to play like a resort course: slow, soggy, wet and yes very green. That's unfortunate because its a nice layout that was not designed to play slow. So even if you do get to experience it without the rude starter and the distractions from the maintenance staff, it won't be what it was meant to be, a walking players course.

Felt compelled to write my first review after this experience. Arizonian 20 years.

We regret not being able to provide you with an experience equated with the TPC brand. I can only profusely apologize and ask if you can reach out to us directly by calling 480-585-4334 and request to speak to management. As much as it disappoints us to hear, we do respect and appreciate your feedback, as it will help us focus on areas for improvement. Thank you for taking the time to review.
