First time playing Venetian Bay. Staff was friendly from the outset. The starter, Mike swung by the driving range to let my partner and I know that there was a large group they were trying to get out and our 10:06 tee time would be pushed back a little. . Mike found us in the putting green and got us on the first tee maybe 12 minutes late. We were paired up with another twosome who were great to golf with. Problem was the the two foursomes ahead of us from this group played like they were the only ones on the course. Two of the foursome ahead of us rarely got past the ladies tees. We would know, we were there when they hit their first and seconds. We had to wait on every shot for the first nine holes. We made the turn in 2 hours 50 minutes. The back nine was more of the same, excruciatingly waiting for them to advance shot by shot. It opened up after 14 because they must’ve had to go to the restaurant to meet up with the rest of their group. We were able to make up time after that and finished the back in just over 2 hours.
I went into the pro shop to voice my displeasure about the large group and no Marshall to keep them accountable. I gave the gentleman every opportunity to offer some compensation, but there was nothing from him except , yeah they could use a Marshall on the course. Apparently there isn’t one.

The course was very playable, except the greens were bare in spots and infested with crab grass in other spots. The putting was inconsistent in terms of speed and line because of this.

Wouldn’t mind the price we paid if the two issues hadn’t reared it’s ugly head. Most likely won’t be back.
They say you get what you pay for, but in this case, we expected more.

They keep asking for reviews.for River Bend. It closed before New Year. I’m sure conditions have deteriorated.
Don’t pay to play.

My brother in law and I decided to go play golf after watching Ground Hog Dorian on tv Saturday that sucker should be penalized for slow play.
We got to the course a little early and were allowed to tee off as we requested.
The course was in great condition, fairways, greens and tee boxes.
We cruised through the front nine. With all the cars in the lot we figured they must’ve teed off pretty early. We hadn’t seen anyone else. We started around 8:25.
We were playing faster than Dorian was moving and hit a wall on 10. 11 had three groups on it as did 13. The wind was picking up and 14’s tee shot was dead into the teeth of the wind. We were waiting for the group ahead to tee off who was waiting on the group ahead of them to hit their second. Who was waiting......You get the idea.
We had decided to play until we didn’t want to anymore and that seemed the perfect time to drive back in.
So the round stayed a pleasant memory as I had parred 6 of the 13 and was playing pretty well. Always like the course at Cypress Head. And didn’t have to grind thru the final holes that always kick my butt.

Got to the course early, we paid online so it was bags, cart, receipt and tee off

We played 18 in just over 3 hours. Other than two blow up holes for me, I birdied 14(#1 hcp home) knocked 15,17 and 18 stiff. Shoulda had 3 more birdies but didn’t oh well. It was a very good ball striking day, the wind adding to the challenge. Course was in very good shape, all of it. Great experience, but I have rarely had less than a great experience there(members not included)

I love playing the Indigo course. It has come a long way over the last several years. I didn’t realize it had closed after Irma came through. Work had been so busy post storm that I didn’t have time anyway.

I played this Saturday and while I know that Indigo doesn’t drain well, the track was exceptionally soggy fairway and rough alike. I conducted a self imposed cartpath only rule as my first 90* crossing the fairway I thought the cart was going to get stuck, not to mention the tire troughs I left behind.

The rough was a touch longer than usual and my playing partners and I “lost” more than our share of balls that disappeared into that rough even though only a yard out of the fairway. It’s ok to lose balls that you hit poorly, but the frustration of losing balls that were not bad shots was disappointing.

We strolled through our round in 3.5 hours which is always a bonus. Never pushed, never waiting. Greens were good, speed a little slow and soft to hold our approaches.

Overall a good day at the course.

We had a tee time that was threatened by the forecast. We hoped to get at least 9 in as we we prepaid and couldn't cancel unless the course closed. So we got to the course early, talked to the proshop and starter and since they had a few cancellations the first three holes were open. We got out early, had three little squalls that required a slicker to deal with and had a most enjoyable round that took three hours. Course was in great shape. as we pulled out of the parking lot, the black clouds above, we watched as the predicted rain came with a vengeance. Had we started at our tee time, we would've only gotten in 9 holes. Much thanks to the pro shop and starter.

Awesome course. Greens a tad slow, but they are coming out of aeration. Always an enjoyable round. 2 hour front. 2.5 hour back. As always rough is penal.

course was in very good shape, greens fast just a couple of browned out areas.
normal morning moisture on the fairways, but dried out quickly.
some of the fairway and greenside traps were wet and packed, one was like a sandbox, dry and my feet dropped three inches. made adjustments and found the green each time.
I enjoy the course each time I play it. and with a hotdeal of $18, cannot beat it.

When I lived out of state I would play this course whenever I'd get back to Daytona. No water and generous bailouts were appreciated as I knocked off the rust from winter in the northeast. Well now I live in Ormond Beach and took my visiting brother-in-Law to Halifax Plantation to play. We were greeted swiftly, were told the course was wide open and if we didn't need to hit a bucket, the course was ours. So we teed off about 40 minutes early. On the third hole we saw another twosome ahead but they were cruising as well. We played the loop in just over three hours and didn't have any one on our six until a single caught us on the 16th hole. Course was in great shape, the greens were just right in terms of speed and condition, had 9 one putts(sounds better than it was because I had to chip up to many of the greens!) but overall it was a wonderful day at Halifax Plantation, which I haven't been able to say about many of my rounds there. But on 5/27, it was great.

I played this course a couple of weeks after they opened in 1990. I remember it was seriously narrow and unforgiving.
On a whim I decided to enjoy a discounted rate and book a tee time. I was teamed up with three others and actually got us out early.
The course was in generally good shape, the tee boxes were a little rough but fairways were good. Greens rolled true. There seemed to be a need for more sand in the traps. Chipped out more than blast due to the thin sand.
Round was less than 4 hours. I was impressed and enjoyed the round very much. The weather, company and golf course was genuinely enjoyed.
