Cabo San Lucas Country Club
Played On 08/21/2023Good value course, wide nice fairways
Both my wife and I would play this again. Price was half some of high end courses. Back nine had been redone recently and was especially fun to play as driver friendly. The greens were just punched so putting was a challenge. There was a few rough spots but not hindering play. A solid 4 star course.
Ridge Top Golf Course
Played On 07/19/2021Good condition. Fun course
This was a great course for mid to high handicappers and good for low folks too. I thought the layout was was challenging but not too hard. Course conditions throughout were excellent though it has rained a lot lately
Cypress Lakes Golf Club
Played On 07/30/2018Excellent public course, nice greens.
This was the first time I played this course and I was impressed. The fairways were nice and greens were the best I have played at a Houston public course. They have a nice driving range and putting green. The course layout may not challenge the low handicappers but for most of us, the layout has just enough water and bunkers to make it fun and challenging.
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club

Greens were in nice shape. Course has some interesting doglegs to make you think about club selection. Will definitely play here again.

Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club
Played On 04/29/2018Great Sunday, rough challenging
I read a negative review on 4/20 but I think the person must have been playing somewhere else. For a public course, the pace of play was excellent as well as the greens and fairways.
I teed-off on a Sunday at 12:30 in perfect weather with a twosome behind a foursome. For a few holes we waited but then pace really picked up. We finished in 3:45 minutes.
The greens were were good and fairways excellent. If you miss, you are either in the trees or in some deep rough. If you hit into the rough, good luck finding your ball. The bunkers had plenty of sand but the brown packed type.
Meadowbrook is a little pricey but I thought it was worth it. The starters and staff were all friendly. Putting greens and chipping areas are good. For a medium price course, it was well worth it.
BlackHorse Golf Club - North Course
Played On 04/26/2018Great public course
I played the North course on a perfect spring day for Houston. The front 9 make you think about club selection and the back 9 is more wide open. Both front and back have plenty of bunkers to keep it interesting. Fairways and greens were exceptional for a public course. We had to wait some but finished in 4 1/2 hours. The rourse is not walkable as there are some long distances between some holes.
The grill was nice with very helpful staff but it was really echoey loud. I would have liked to have a craft beer or two on tap but they had a good assortment of can beer if draft bud/miller is not your cup of tea.
Superstition Springs Golf Club
Played On 09/14/2017Enjoyable round
We tied off at 11am on a very hot day but the was a nice breeze. The course had a fair amount of elevation changes with greens protect by large bunkers. There were a number of pot bunkers which my wife always found. The greens were fairly hard and fast which is expected for late summer. My only complaint was on 9 which you hit across a dry lake. I played to the right but found the driving range was just over the hill and there many range balls laying around making it difficult to find my ball.
I would definitely return. Nice course for the money.
