Do you like fun? Take my word it can be had here. True greens. Fun hole layouts mixed with some real challengers. Drying out nicely from winter. 3 Course options. Aqua range. Pleasant and clean cut staff while we were there. Looks like they have a bistro down from the clubhouse and some fun local bars at the bottom of the hill. It’s my new home track.

Course is walkable with true greens. It is tree lined hence Oakbrook. However you can get out of jail fairly easily there. Course is playing long right now as it is a little damp from winter. There was one makeshift hole to protect a green from further damage. Our hot deal was $35 a player but it felt more like what you should pay for the round here given the time of year. There’s some nice weather moving in which should allow for some rapid grass growth and dryer playing conditions. I’ll play it again certainly when it dries out and see if I feel any different. Note keep your eyes open your first time, you can get a little turned around looking for holes after the 6th, BIG SIGN on tree by green for the 7th. Have fun and good luck!!

Folks! If you have ever hesitated to make a wiggle over to this course you’re missing out. 4 tee boxes plus obvious tipped out boxes create a length for all caliber of players. You’re penalized for terrible shots, the golf gods reward or punish ok shots, and good shots yield pars and birdie looks while the greens roll true and provide just enough nuance. Tee to green is the test here. Once you’re on the greens the putts roll true. Play your yardage to the middle / back and spin the ball back or stop it dead! Do not underestimate the false fronts, club up don’t be a hero. Enjoy the round!!

If you are looking for an affordable golf round on a playable golf course with good food then I do recommend stopping here. Is it Chambers Bay? Definitely not, however is the value far better here than most courses? I do believe so. You can spend more and get less at many other places. Here, you get what you paid for or maybe even more. Especially if you value the waitstaff and food quality as part of your day on the golf course. Be forewarned I think if you can walk this course then it’s best to do so. They do have carts but there’s not exactly a cart path so it’s a bumpy ride. Still worth every penny whether you decide to walk or ride. Cheers and go low!!

This is one of my favorite tracks in the country! Being from New England and playing most of my golf in California it was totally different for me. It's iconic new England golf with spectacular views of the entire region for hundreds of miles! The greens are super entertaining and the lines and conditions of the fairways are perfect. I lost an item and it was at the pro shop the next day. Montcalm Golf Course is genuinely fantastic!! I highly recommend this place. It's as good a product as I've played from Weilea to Pebble Beach. I only recommend walking if you're a strong golfer or very in shape however!

I dunno. I play a lot of golf. The greens are all messed up. We played behind a 4 some that didn't let us through. No big deal...but you can't get a beer here before 1130...no bev cart either...so if I'm going to play a 4 hour round, I'd like a beer or two. Hope the greens come back soon. I'd pay $30 max to play before 11 AM here. Really cool track though, especially if you're a strong golfer!

Course is a ton of fun! Blast your tee shots at will (except on the blind holes?!) It's warm so the ball flies a long way! The sand and bunkering was great. My only real complaint at the end of 18 was that the greens could use a rolling and/or a haircut. I'd play it again and keep closer eye on my score. It was great getting to know it!

Tilden Park is playing great. Greens are in fantastic shape. The grass has recently been manicured, AND the course isn't saturated with water! I suggest you get a round in!

This course was playing fantastically yesterday! The greens are rolling fast and true. The bunkers have great sand. The whole course was just manicured and it fits the eye great! Get a round in soon because the waters going dry in CA! Enjoy &goodluck!....ps the par 3s here are really fun in my personal opinion!

This course is completely under the radar! It is in great shape. It's a very entertaining couse to play! The par 5s are all reachable as well as a reachable par 4. The greens are awesome and roll very true. They are hard however, which helps protect the course from shooting lights out. The views have to be the best in the bay area and the membership cost is very manageable for a young professional/avid golfer. I don't regret joining one bit!

Compared to how the rest of California is playing this course was off the mark! For $100 a twosome, you can get there early in the morning to not get any food. Go out and play a course wit no drinking water in the coolers....play some fuzzy and some brown tee boxes....the greens I have to say are in good condition. I didn't play particularly well but even on great shots the reward I received was very little. The rough is overgrown to the point where if you miss the fairway (which have brown clumpy clay spots ) you lose your ball....not necessarily because of the length, but because it grows in clumps and there's nothing uniform for your eye to look at....the Ridge and Darkhorse are far better for the money. Back 9 is way more fun than front 9! I don't understand why this course has such a hi rating on Golf Advisor. I have played all over Norcal and Palm Springs. I'd put this in the Haggin Oaks/municipal course realm.

The greens roll fast and true. There's a reachable par 4 green...The clubhouse is nice. Facilities are good. Once on course, there are only Porta potties/trailer toilets and I only saw them one time in 18 holes. If you want to use a real bathroom, they are at the clubhouse. There we arborists on the course sawing, yelling, and talking on 2 teeboxes and one green. The course was/is a ton of fun however I dont feel like I got my $115 worth of a quality golf experience. I'm not sure if I'll be returning. Maybe it was just an off day there??

This course is FUN. I can't speak to the redesign. But you can step up and rip drive on every hole. Massive fairways!!! It's not super long bUT you do have some ocean air so it feels long enough. The greens seem huge but that adds to the challenge cuz once ur on you can easily 3 putt from another zipcode. Just get on. Club down and let the ball finish on the green! Pace of play was a little slow but the marshall got us back in place by speeding up groups ahead. As an NCGA member this course was affordable $90 compared to $200!! But it's all still another dollar level for the average golfer. Being an NCGA member greatly increases incentive to play this course. My favorite holes were the 10th, 9th, 5th, and 18 because the walk was over and it was time for a beer!! Foods great aND Paul the bartender was very helpful in helping us navigate the pebble /carmel /monterey area! !!

This course was awesome! It has a great eyeline. The setting is top notch with great scenery. The course plays well and to be honest you can score from just about any position. (Except if you stick a ball in a palm tree). My complaint is everything seemed a bit furry for a $100 course! I was getting no fairway roll out. The tee boxes were also furry and didn't feel level in spots, a big time no no in my book. Food was pretty $$ but that is to be expected. Overall a fun experience, I'd love playing it in a faster condition. I would bring a friend but I think this course should charge less.

Course fits the eye well. Honestly there's very little to be scared of here besides your swing! It's a straight up resort course. Grip n rip but do keep it out of the folks yard that live along the course. Greens are true but a Lil sticky!! Foods alright. The drinking fountains are scary. If I had actually putted well it woulda been a best ever round! Instead its another 88 on the card! The course finishes hard on the last 3 holes so use a little course management and you should be fine!! Enjoy this lil gem!

This course was great!! I didn't play it particularly fantastic either. You have to keep your ball on the green stuff or you are playing in the thorny bush!! I would say it is fairly demanding! Good shots are rewarded bad shots are cruel! I recommend easing into this one. It fit my eye OK. Green fairways break away into rollin brown dunes leading into the thorny bush, which raises the anxieties before shots. The greens were the best I played while I was in Palm Springs. I didn't expect that because of how jagged the course appears. My complaint is the bunkers, they could use a bit more sand and less pebbles/deadpan dirt.

I didn't know what to expect for $30. Let's just say I'm beyond impressed. A challenging and fun course! It fits the eye well and has very lush grass currently. The greens are in fantastic shape and putt fast and true! The greens are also undulating /tiered so they are very entertaining! I brought friends with me the next day because it is so affordable! Foods good too! This is the best public couse I've found dollars/sense wise!!

Forgiving, fun, and entertaining! ...Good food, great drinks, fast and friendly staff! ...Walkable, playable, and warm!
