The Club at Pelican Bay - South Course
Played On 03/21/2019Where's the grass?
Almost all the greens are damaged and you have to search for grass in the fairways .
Spruce Creek Country Club

Have not found another course in area that is as in good condition as Spruce Creek. Somewhat challenging and a picturesque back nine made this one of my favorites to play.

The Mrs. and I hoped for a nice afternoon round while visiting Kennebunkport. The fog finally burned off and it turned out to be a sunny afternoon. The Starter was great and we were fortunate to have a member of the club join us for the front nine. Without his help it would have been difficult to navigate the course. The course was in good shape and the greens rolled true. We played the front nine in just over two hours, which is their posted pace of play. Unfortunately the back nine bogged down and after two hours we had only played six holes, so we called it a day. Overall it was a great day and would definitely go back and play during the week. Had a delicious lunch in the clubhouse before we started also.

Course looked a little neglected, maybe because its late in the season, but September golf in the northeast is the best time.
Greens a little more bumpy than usual. Women's tee boxes especially needed work. Love the course , but it could use a ranger to keep pace of play going or better booking. A round shouldn't take five hours, even on a weekend.

The course is easier then most, but the greens make it challenging. Wide fairways and few hazards makes play faster than normal, but you still have to aim carefully at the greens to score well. Nice scenery and good course conditions make it an enjoyable round of golf.
Bear Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/06/2015Chilly, but worth it
My wife and I played here the first week in February, before we headed back to the snow in NY, so the 50* temperature was not a deterrent. Beautiful course and super fast greens. I guess because it's off season, the course was not as groomed as we had hoped.
Canajoharie Country Club
Played On 08/19/2014Great greens
Whereas many of the greens in upstate NY suffered this past winter, these greens were in great shape. And fast.
My wife and I played 18 in less than 3 1/2 hours ! Great scenery on a beautiful day, at a great price. Only downside was due to a tournament going on, people were jumping holes and it got a little confusing.
Kingswood Golf Club

Like the way of many courses, this course is starting to suffer from neglect. The staff is competent, but seems like their there to just collect your money. The is no starter so you are on your own and just seems very disorganized. We actually ended up being joined by another twosome, that had a much later tee time. The course is in decent shape, but the greens are way too firm and in need of watering. I hope that it does not continue to slip into disrepair, because it was a nice course.
