Great course, just a cold day.

The course was in great shape, a little wind blown debris. Pace was great as we played in about 3.5 hours, the day was just a cold day in Tampa at 50 degrees. Greens were quick.

Quick round, got to be first off.

I had the first tee time, though the regulars there seem to think if they get to the tee box first they can just go(more of a course attitude), the starter told them I was going first which worked out well, I just wanted to get in a quick round(I think and 1:50 minutes qualifies). For the time of year the course is in good shape, had a few rainy and windy days in the last few weeks so some holes were affected while the course in general is cleaned up from downed branches and debris. Greens run pretty true, though some hole locations could have been more fair. Normal golf complaint, LOL.

Windy and cold

Nice course with a good layout, Windy day with gusts in the 50-60 mph range so made a cold day colder. Pace of play was good also. Tee times early don't seem to matter much as nobody seems to know when their time actually was(sorry I'm a stickler for this) said pro shop said just go. Why bother with a tee time?

Love this course, hated the weather!

This course has the views of Little Traverse Bay and all the challenge you can handle, throw in the weather that didn't cooperate from 65 degrees down to 45 and rainy back up to 70(nice) but windy and the day was a challenge. Course was in great shape though, my game just couldn't handle all the other stuff.

After we got around the slow group we could play quickly.

We had a little room on the front before we caught up with a group of ladies, that we thought would let us through, after waiting for them to hit numerous balls and shots of those balls on three holes, we realized they weren't going to let us through. A little frustrating we finally went up and asked to let us play through(if there would have been a course attendant) we wouldn't have had to do this.
So no player assistant(actually there was, he was busy looking for balls and repairing divots), course was in okay shape, not bad, not as good as it has been in the past.
No beverage cart, what? It's 85 degrees out and can't get something to drink except water except at the bar at the turn. BS BS BS. Was told it's the pro's decision (dumb, dumb).
No need to go back.

Maybe when it dries out and grows some grass!

I played this course for the first time as I also just joined the men's club, will have to rethink that! It was wet which wasn't that big a deal as we need the rain and hopefully with the rain this course will grow some grass on the fairways, that was the issue, between gopher holes, every kind of wild plant imaginable, even the driving range they tout you will hit off real grass always(maybe if you can find some) doesn't anybody know how to hit on a range anymore? I digress, it also has a foot golf course interspersed which play doesn't start on until 2 pm thankfully. Back to the course info, the pictures you see with nice green grass mowed perfectly up and down(show me that and I'll be back) couldn't find, as I said it was wet which I don't knock the course for mud but there just wasn't enough grass to hold the water.
On a good note, the starter was good at calling tee times and groups and keeping things moving, pace was good, the rest of the things we didn't use, no beverage cart out on holiday Mondays? I guess.(missed opportunities)
I'll have to go play again at some point as I did join the men's club there, it won't be until the sun shines for a few weeks in a row though, even for the price!

Fun, Resort course

I was able to make an early tee time but was delayed due to frost so went a little later(almost an hour) not my call, starter was having a tough time. Course was very manageable though many holes paralleled each other so had a few delays from errant shots from another fairway.
Course was in really good condition, the greens had been treated and rolled and were true to form. It felt like a slow round as we waited on every hole and usually every shot but time wise we made the turn in 2:11 and finished in 4: 28(just my belief with this course should be played in under 4:00 pretty easily) and yes we were a 4some also. The 4 in front of us were a hole behind after 3 holes and just got slower. No on course attendant to help move anybody. Played with enjoyable people on a beautiful day.

Fun round, beautiful day!

Great day to be playing golf, we breezed through the front nine in 2 hours without a hitch, caught a group on the back nine that slowed us tremendously with no one in front of them, course attendants not to be found, still played the back in 2 hr, 45 min.. Course was in really good condition.

Not worth it, won't play again

I'll stick to the golf review, mentioned the slow pace of play to the pro shop as that has been the review on this course, it's slower than that. 7 minute tee times don't help, especially on a shorter course, leaves no time for any group to spread out and now course attendant to move anyone along. We went off at 3 and wanted more drinks at the turn and snack shack was closed and no beverage cart on the course either, so don't know what time she closed before 545 for sure, did I mention slow play. Greens were in decent shape it's hitting the patches of grass in the fairway that was troubling. I know we are in drought conditions but I don't think they water maybe once a month and still needed to cut the grass even. Fairways little grass, a lot of bare spots, greens overplayed(doesn't anybody repair divots anymore) tee boxes so torn up even using the 2 club length rule to find flat with grass was tough. Just way too many negatives to go back. The rumor is the course has been sold so the owner is just maximizing what he can get, $200 for all you can play, lots of tournaments, crowded and slow. It seemed to be a locals course and they can have it, even as affordable as it was $27, not worth it.

Didn't take the opportunity to play, Pro please do your job!

I didn't take to opportunity to play as I got there and carts weren't available so my comments will only direct to the Golf Pro/Manager. Your update of info on sites like Golfnow are easy to do and expected. I know you can't control weather or dampness but you should know the condition of your course and if it will be deemed walking only for a few extra days put it in there and if carts are available for those that show to play then a bonus for us. I've had both knees replaced and an ankle tendon repaired and expecting to ride is premium when I book tee times. Cart path only also works. It looks like a nice course.

Great course for fun!

I took my nephew to play this course and he doesn't play that much. This course didn't disappoint at all. We had a great time the greens were in great shape and the fairways were too. I played Salt Creek two days before and what a difference. Comparing the two, McCormick Ranch would win going away.
We played the Pine course, it is in better shape than Palm in my opinion.

Wish it wasn't windy!

Course was in good shape, the greens were really hard, couldn't dent them let alone hold them. Many were so fast few in my group could keep a putt on the surface. Service staff was excellent. For the price I would expect gps.

Interesting layout with lots of up and down

Knowing the course had been punched the week before I still wanted to get on and give it a try. Windy, windy day to start off so finding the fairway was premium, without the course book would have been even tougher, cart gps could give so much more info about which side to favor or what might be in front, only a few blurbs on a few holes. Pace of play was good for the most part after we got around a group that had to be out of position, never saw a course attendant to even ask, at least the beverage cart was on the course. Player's Club is probably the way to go to get the best value.

Finally in really, really good shape

We had stopped playing this course because the course conditions weren't that great throughout late spring and summer. Happy to say that has changed, course was pristine and just getting better. Pace of play was outstanding after a slow start. Get on it now! Go Play!

just punched greens

Oaks north is a nice executive course with something for everyone. We played the south course in very goodtime. The greens had been punched a week or so before so they were a little bumpy and shaggy. It is a nice course to take family time on.

Most greenside bunkers played as water hazards

Hunter's Creek could be such a great course, still needs some TLC. Rain has inundated the course so many, many bunkers are filled with water and have been long enough for the tadpole population to explode. Any low area on the course had standing water, but enough about the conditions, they will improve as the course dries out!
This course is a great challenge, moderately narrow fairways and forced carries to risk or reward makes Hunter's Creek a fun course to play. Four sets of tees can let you play from 5500 yds. up to 7400 yds. As new management group looks at improvements I hope they make this course the jewel it once was.

Disney course with history

I played here for a practice round before an upcoming tournament. The course is in relatively good shape, it is all Bermuda(fairways and greens), take that for what it is. Nice layout, trouble is easy to see and find, LOL. Pace was slow with the group in front not playing ready golf and looking for balls that probably couldn't be found. All hazards play as lateral, so drop and go on, you don't want to go in there anyway (swamp, thick ferns, snakes, etc)
Had a great time with the group I got paired with, could use mobile refreshment cart, on this day it was stationary between front and back nines, there are water stations on the course but load up with other beverages is a better idea!

Another fun day

Another great but rainy day at Celebration Golf, the course played well but the pace was a little slow. Probably due to the weather. Greens are picking up speed again though with the rain again a little slow. Value was excellent for golf, range and lunch for $35.00. Great place to play, many holes will challenge you when you think this looks pretty straight forward. LOL.
Lunch was awesome and never disappoints, try the Cowboy or Hula Burger, or can't go wrong with a quesadilla.

Great little course

Had a great time playing the Navy Destroyer course for the first time. nice layout with some thinking involved on how to play the holes with trees and water coming into play on numerous holes. Fun times. Got paired up which was to be expected on a Friday so pace of play was good throughout.

Lot of water, but easy to get around

Hawks Landing is a really good course to test your thinking golf skills, this was my first time playing it and had a steady wind 10-15mph all day, if you want to bomb it you better play it once or twice to know where to hit it as water is everywhere but doesn't have to come into play unless you just go for everything in sight. Played from the green tees which are just one forward of the blacks and they were a good distance, now that I've played once will probably play from the tips next time!!
