Nice Course and Well Kept

Played around 10am on a friday at the Gold Course. First time playing. The course is well maintained and the grass was so green. The rough on the course is not very thick and easy to navigate. There are some well placed bunkers all over the course that make it interesting. One issue with the bunkers, there was very little to no sand in a green side bunker which caused my club to completely bottom out and duff a ball. It appeared to be only the one bunker because later in the round I was in another bunker or two and the sand was perfect. Another knock on the course was the price. Even though the range balls were included, I would have at least expected to have a range finder in the golf cart for what we paid. Greens were quick and you need to be precise where you miss on this course. If you leave it in the wrong area off the green, you could be in for some very difficult shots. Since it is a Parkland course, you can get away with some errors off the tee box as compared to the desert courses. Overall a nice course. Unfortunately this is west of Phoenix so you don't get the views of other courses.

Good Experience

Played around 10am during the week and the course was pretty packed. We got breakfast burrito's from the restaurant and it was delicious. Range and facilities were nice. Course had a Taylormade demo day so prior to my round I was able to test out some drivers that I had been looking at. That was a huge bonus!!! Pace of play was good considering they were booked til the late afternoon. Course was in good shape and fun. We got paired up with a few guys that had played the course so he was able to give us some tips. The starter "Tito" I believe, was extremely nice and helpful. Would play her again because of the excellent views and nice course conditions. Only issue that day was with the rangers. Yes, it was packed that day but they were slightly rude and need to respect the golfers better. One example I will share, included a ranger that told me to drop a ball as I was looking for mine because I was not going to find it. I was looking around a bunker that merged into a waste area. I had not been looking long and the golfers in my group were still hitting their second shots. We were maintaining pace of play well so it was not his place to step in. Had a few other run-ins with the Rangers but it did not deter our experience. Overall, a fun and enjoying day on the course.

Great Experience

This was my first time playing at this course and my first time playing in AZ. I would definitely go back considering the course conditions and the scenery. The range and practice facilities were also nice. They had a Taylormade demo day which gave me the opportunity to try out some drivers I was interested in, so that was a plus. The starter was very friendly and provided some good course insight. The course was slammed that day and the place of play was very good. We ordered breakfast from the restaurant and it was delicious.

The one knock on this course was the course rangers. On the front nine, I felt the rangers were watching our every move. I hit a ball in the waste area (not far off the fairway) and was looking for it while the other golfers in my 4-some hit their balls. I had not been looking for the ball for very long when I hear the ranger tell me to drop a ball because I wasn't going to find it. Then on the next hole the other cart in our group drove on the waste area (no cacti or rocks in sight) and yet again the ranger came up and said something to them. Finally, we were teeing off on the back nine (hole 10) when the ranger stood right behind each one of us as we teed off. Then he followed us and was sitting behind one of our golfers while he was hitting his second shot. We had to ask him not sit behind us as we were hitting because it was a distraction. After that, we did not see the Ranger again and had not issues.

Overall, great experience, great weather and great conditions. The rangers could chill out a little and respect the golfers a little better. Still a very nice course and challenging. I would go back to play here again.
