Rocky Gap Casino Resort
Played On 07/28/2019Fun Course
Tee boxes could of used a cut and maybe two or three or the greens were cut to close to allow some burn. But overall this course was fun to play. Greens rolled true, fairways were immaculate, I would recommend this course to anyone.
The Golf Club at Eagle Creek
Played On 08/24/2016Temporary Greens
As title states they had temporary greens on all the holes. It made for an interesting round. The course isn't a bad course at all. They are making a lot of improvements. It's just a place to go and really practice what you want to try. I'll definitely go again but after the original greens are repaired of course lol
Honey Bee Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2016Peak conditions
All the rain we have gotten and the past few weeks of warm weather have really brought this course in. A few of the bunkers need to be redone as its like hitting out of a parking lot it's so hard. The fairways were plush, tee boxes are just fine, the greens were a little grainy but held the line more times than not. DEFINITLY a must if you haven't golfed here before. It's a rather short course but its unique in the shot you are faced with. All in all, it's a pretty fun course to shoot every now and then.
Virginia Beach National Golf Club
Played On 04/02/2015One of the best in the area!!!
Course is always in good shape from tee to green. Always upkeep in process, well designed also. Course is somewhat forgiving on errant tee shots. Green can be very deceiving pending your leave. Green putt true, course has always been in my golf rotation.
Heron Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/25/2015One of my favorites.
The course goes in and out of that US Open and British Open type feel. A lot of wide open fairways where the wind can grab you and then you have some tree lines holes. Wide fairways, true greens, well protected greens at that also. Look for the Eagle behind the 3rd green if it's still there. Favorite holes is and will always be the par 5 13th. If you can catch that slope off the tee look for a mid to scoring iron to the green.
Timber Banks Golf Club & Marina
Played On 08/29/2014Best course in Central NY
This course is in pristine condition. I read the reviews before hand and was a little intimidated about all the comments on the greens being so hard. The greens are fine. Living in Virginia Beach we have these types of greens at all the courses. Yes the greens are challenging but definitely not unfair. If you leave yourself below the hole, you have a very good chance of getting par or better. The rest of the course from the tee boxes to the fairways was excellent. I would love to play this course again as going on here for the first time, I would definitely play some holes differently. Course is highly recommended!!!!
Hell's Point Golf Club
Played On 07/18/2014That time of year
Its that time of year where the courses start to see signs of wear down that way. Heron Ridge, Red Wing, Va Beach National, and of course Hells Point. Although this course has made a tremendous rebound from previous years, it showed signs wear from the wave of tourists. It happens every year around here. The courses mentioned above are a few of the main attractions that tourists hit. The greens were spiked up, a lot of the cups were torn up from idiots not watching what they are doing. As always the courses usually bounce back nearing the end of August and beginning of September. If only the hacker tourists would tear up our golf courses along with running around the town thinking they own it. I guess im not being far let me re-phrase this....."SOME" tourists, there that way im being PC.
Now for the course... the fairways are in decent condition. The greens were fine but with the occasional spike mark that even Michael Jackson would of been proud of. For the love of god....WATCH THE CUP WHEN PUTTING THE FLAG BACK!!!! Others have to putt !!! The greens putt true and are in great condition with the exception of the above mentioned. It is a challenging course somewhat. Be careful if it rains as this course is in the middle of wetlands so even a drop of rain and this course is soaked.
Great course for the money though.
Cypress Point Country Club
Played On 06/30/2014Great Course
This is a fun course to play. Has a few challenging holes but not extremely difficult. Course was in excellent shape. A few tee boxes were worn but who cares the whole point of a tee box is to TEE OFF lol.
The fairways and greens are pristine. The greens putt true, a little grainy but great shape. This will be a staple in my rotations for years to come.
