This was my first time to play and it was an outstanding layout. A few up hill and down hill tee shots and blind shots that added some excitement to this gem of a design. Due to the current Covid situation, I did not have much interaction with the staff but those I did were very nice and welcoming. Outstanding job. No. 15 was my favorite of the day.

The whole enter property is amazing and so many trees and foliage all over the place. That was really amazing and the greens and fairways are in tip top shape. My only gripe is the sand traps, but I also believe there was moisture in them. Means I should have brought a heavier wedge... All in all this is a fantastic place and I will definitely be back. I encourage and suggest that you play these wonderful courses .....

The only bright spot are most of the people working here, The range and course are never in good condition. If Arnold was alive he would not be happy having his great name tarnished with this place.... Have had issues in the past with grumpy and rude starters and of course, never a marshalll to be found which makes for longer rounds.... So much more offered in the area but it is upsetting to know that this is a part of my community and I have NO desire to do anything here ..... Side note, which is not a reflection on the course... rude people on the range need to respect others when trying to practice who really cares you scored under par !!!! not me ....

I have to say this is the first time I have played since the greens were redone. The only issue was hard tee boxes but I suspect that is more of a weather issue vs. maintenance. The greens ran fast and true and hardly a divot to be found. Asides from the hot weather, with wind and the conditions it felt more like how this course is to be played. As well as being more like Scotland .... Go play and enjoy your round on an amazing replica course !!!!!!!

Love this place and it has been some time since I last played. It was overall in fantastic condition. My only issue is that the pace of play is something the staff needs to review and work on. I hope they read this because I understand it gets busy but it's simple common courtesy to think of others. Back to the course however. It is greening up nicely and I will definitely be back. Also the sand traps are in need of some raking but that is on the players being lazy... and they are definitely very well placed. You have been warned !! : )

Let me start off and mention I am a resident close by and used to love this course.

However it seems that a touch of arrogance has crept into their attitude lately. I was put into a group as a walk on single. The starter was not in a good mood and was not that pleasant to talk too. As we made our way to no. 7, there was the starter, now marshal waiting for our group. It seems that a player in my group was just inside the carts only area. The marshal threatened to remove him from the course for this mistake then as we proceeded playing no. 11. Another guy, probably a course super was with the same marshal and he got onto the same player in my group. The story this time was stay on the path on pars 3's but we all did this. I am baffled at what the issue was this time..

Considering the conditions of the sand traps I where in, this is the least of their worries. Definitely had not been raked in a long time and was insane trying to play from them.

My tee time was last Friday, shortly after 12 noon if it matters. However I am unsure if staff even looks at the reviews... I am finished here and with many others to choose from, not an issue what so ever...

Not that I should be viewed as as different but I am in Allen and a portion of my taxes each year, I am certain go to this city owned course. Just one more thing to consider.

Just have to say I was amazed at how beautiful this course is. Very difficult but in such great shape. The people who work there are top notch as well.

What I loved the most is the gravel cart path vs. concrete. Definitely gave it that Old feel. I will definitely be back and I strongly suggest playing here, you will not be disappointed.

I have played here off and on for a while and it is just down the street from my home. However after this last time I will not be playing here again. The tee boxes were hard as rocks and the traps were also difficult to hit from. For the money you have to spend you would think they would be able to keep the course in good shape. Especially since this summer has been milder than normal. Also wish they would use a netting system down both sides of the driving range. It would be safer and less range balls would be lost.

The staff there is very nice but that is not enough to make me spend the money charged until they treat a classic Palmer design with the respect it deserves.

I was happy with the course conditions but will say that the starter must have been in a really bad mood. He did not greet me, simply asked time and name. Now I was there about 10 minutes prior to my tee time and he told us to head down now and made me feel he was mad that we were late. What I have found is that the new company took over, improvements were made but only to the course. A lot of the same people who almost ran this place into the ground are still there. That is unacceptable to me.

I filled out a survey and now over a week has past and no one has answered me. So if you like good course conditions and do not mind being talked to like a child or someone not important, then this course is for you. However for me, there are too many other choices out there so I am finished with this place.

The rain we had was quite a bit in a short amount of time. That being said, the course was in great shape considering all the weather. Obviously a few holes had issues but that is very understandable and also most bunkers are going to be redone since most washed out with flood waters.

It was fun as always and the cart assistance and girl who was at the 18th that cleans your clubs were very friendly and what you expect at a facility of this caliber. I just wish the people in the pro shop were nicer. I just like to made welcome at a golf course and this was the only sore spot for me since they made me feel like they were uninterested in my round before or after.

Still make it a point to add this to your list unless you already have done so. It is a spectacular course and once they are completely recovered from the floods, it will totally be a course on my rotation.

I have not played in quite some time here. However I decided to give it a go. I was glad that I did since the course, for the most part, is in good shape. The greens were really nice since there were virtually NO divots to fix. Everyone who worked there was very cordial and a pleasure to talk to.

Even though the holes are short on the scorecard. Do not let that deceive you into thinking there are no hard challenges and choices to make in your round. Be ready and play smart and you will be happier with your score.

I love the links style and unfortunately in this area, there are few to choose from. I will be back soon and will make this a part of my regular rotation for weekend golf. Also, there is something to be said about a course near water and being on the first tee box as the sun is rising. Very awesome...

The course is turning around but being a previous member and seeing some of the same faces working there that should be told to go, did not make me happy. Also the online tee time system did not work so I tried to call and it gave me a message stating we are on with other callers, please call back then hung up on me. My concern is that the service should match the changes being noticed in the course and it is not. So I will probably never come back. Also have sent an email asking about services and never received a reply, probably about a month ago.

So until the moral of the workers changes or is replaced. The course coming around will not matter to me one bit.
