The golf course is in average condition in every aspect of it. Not a top tier golf club.
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 05/12/2017Great condition
The course condition was better than what I expected unlike many other 4-5 start courses. The fairway was lush and greens are well manicured. The off course facility was minimal, typical of a two year old course without a proper club house. The one thing they must improve immediately was the taste of the drinking water in the cooler along the course. It tasted like repurposed or reclaimed water. Specially when the temperature reaches 40c plus, if you don't have bottled water with you, then you well have to drink this awful tasting stuff.
Put some cheap purified water in the cooler!
Links at Wild Dunes Golf Links
Played On 05/07/2017God course but Too expensive
The course condition is good, both fairway and green. But if you have paid the full rack rate and expecting spectacular views then thou will be disappointed. There are some water views at the end but very average view. For me it turned out a great round. I booked a 4pm game at $75 and was able to start the game at 3pm. Finishing at 730pm, way before sunset.
Harbor at Wild Dunes Golf Links
Played On 05/06/2017Great greens and layout
As expected, from service to fairway and green conditions are in great condition. , I'm very happy with this course. Booked through phone for the 340pm at $50 rate, normally was 150. Green and fairway are very lush and well manicured as a premium course.
The only thing that I want to mention was for RV or camper golfers. Be warned they don't allow camper inside. But they do provide shuttle service thought out the resort. You just have to park at the administration office building and catch a shuttle over. I'm playing the link course today, was told it is even better, look forward to the round this afternoon.
Patriots Point Golf Links
Played On 05/05/2017Average but unique course
As my title has indicated, is a rather unique course. The course condition is average. Green is slow and fairway were vey bumpy and patchy. But it's a fun course to play. You can see some water and city view but not spectacular as some reviewers have indicated. My guess is every one's standard is different.
Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course

Good price. Reasonable condition. Greens were good and fast.
The Links at Stono Ferry

This is run of the mill kind of course. You play and forget about it in a couple of day. Nothing standout. If you have some time to kill and are looking for something close by. This might be it.
Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
Played On 05/01/2017Average course condition
We got a golf now social of $28 for 18 holes. So the value is great for our round. Green is bumpy. Fairway is in decent shape, spring grass is still growing out of the brown dead leaves. Some spots of the fairway is bare but most of them address playable. On the fairway, you will see a unique waves of green Patten, caused by the storm.
Hilton Head National Golf Club
Played On 04/30/2017Great condition
In terms of course condition, This is one of the best in the area. Green and fairway are both lush and finely manicured.
Great value as well. Its in far better condition than any other courses in the sub-$100 range I the area.
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
Played On 04/29/2017It's a two to three star course, The usual 4 star rating is way off!
After reading online four star reviews for this course, I was expecting a reasonably good course.
It was not. Fairway was brown and bare. Greens were In better shape but still rough and slow. All other approaching areas were very rough and not maintained, gave you the impression that the owner run out of money or just don't care about making it a nice course.
I wonder where the four star rating come from! It's a two for me.
Forest Hills Golf Club
Played On 04/26/2017Average course
The greens are really bumpy and brown. Fairway condition is average. Whay saved this course for us was the layout and vista. We booked on Golf Now for a special price of $29 each. So it's a good value for us. Today It is not a premium course even though a lot of history attached to it. If they can address the green and fairway, it could be a good course. It has a good bone structure so to speak.
Bartram Trail Golf Club
Played On 04/25/2017Good course to play
Travelling to Augusta after the week of Masters, I wad expecting all courses will be beat up. Not so at the Bartram trail. Fairway was In good condition and well defined. Green rolls fast even though they just micro punched and rolled. Many holes require t target shooting to place your ball in the ideal position for next shot. But at all holes, you are able to see where you are shooting, it means no blind shots.
There are some elevation changes to make the course interesting but not to a extreme degree. Good value at $49 with cart.
Customer service is very good. We are the first group to tee off and on several holes, we were waiting for the maintenance staff to change the pin placement and micro punch the green. After we phoned the proshop, they came right away and move us one hole ahead and give us half round extra at no cost even though we didn't ask for it. It was very thoughtful and we appreciated very much.
Tot Hill Farm Golf Club
Played On 04/19/2017very unique course
I was told that this course is different before I got there. Boy were they right! Much elevation changes. First of all, the driving range, you are driving into a giant pit/hill. The place was very rustic and not much services and proshop as you would expect.
As I travel through the states, I always look for the most scenic and unique golf clubs to play. This definitely qualify for the unique category. Every hole you are shooting over some hills, waters or trees. If you want to shoot a good score, then choose the right tee and focus on shot making.
I had a great round and would have played another round next day if the weather didn't turn. worth the drive from Pinehurst.
my previous review, I forgot to mention: the club should really install some exit bells for several holes. As I mentioned in last review, you are shooting over many hills, waters etc. There are many blind shots and there are no bells to tell the group behind whether the group in front is finished or out of the shooting range. In my case, I landed one shot not far away from the guys ahead on the 9th hole as I was approaching the green!
Talamore Golf Resort
Played On 04/19/2017Good course to play
After played tobacco road golf club yesterday, my expectation was not high for this course. If you haven't played the tobacco road course, then you definitely should. In my opinion it's the course to be in Pinehurst. But Talamore impress me more than I expected. Green was in great condition, the fairways were fun and interesting with elevation changes. My only complaints were the pace of the play and lack of grass in some of the fairways. As an out of towner, first time playing this course, I usually like to play with locals to get some guides on how best to play the course.
I originally booked to play with another twosome, but they reassigned my playing partner. I ended up playing by myself, waiting on every hole and virtually every shot! Five hours for the round.
Other than that I really enjoyed the course.
Good course but Too expensive
