The course was preparing for overseed so the fairways were cut low... Overall a nice layout with a few interesting holes like a
250 yard par 4 with water on 3 sides. Nice wide fairways and some very large greens to hit to. All in all a nice experience.

The Palms course at McCormick ranch offers a challenging but fair experience... First, their are TREES that get in the way, a bit unusual for most of the valley courses. Secondly, WATER also comes into play on many holes and, at times you must take a close look as the water creeps across the fairway to intercept your shots from the fairway.
The course was in pretty good shape for summer golf with the greens being excellent and running true. Overall, the course offers some scenic views of Camelback mountain and is a good value for your money.

Devils Claw at whirlwind offers a challenging round of golf in a beautiful desert setting. The fairways were in great shape and the surrounding desert often leaves one with a playable lie. The greens were firm and true despite small marks left by golfers apparently too lazy to fix their ball marks. The surrounding mountains offer a beautiful backdrop.
Just don't expect anything quicker than a four hour round during the busy winter months.
