Aguila Nine Golf Course
Played On 12/05/2019Spray painted greens
Great 9 hole executive course. For the last 3-4 years, they have stopped over seeding and just spray paint the greens. As a result, they do not roll true and are like putting on concrete....slick. No grass, crazy roll. It’s is a shame that the city is too cheap to have real growing turf on the greens.
Willowcreek Golf Course
Played On 11/26/2019Poorest greens in towm
About 25% of every green had no grass as a result of overseeding failure. Greens were no puttable. Stay away from this course until the summer.
Riverview Golf Course
Played On 09/11/2019Great Greenskeeper
Very well maintained despite summer season stress. Best bang for your buck in the Phoenix metro area.
Rancho Manana Golf Club
Played On 07/31/2019Beautiful views
Great layout, beautiful views, however , fairways and greens were in fair to average condition. There were a lot of dead spots in fairway and greens varied as far as condition. If you pay under $20, it is worth the trip. Course condition does not warrant paying over this amount. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 07/22/2019Ain’t what she used to be
Played the Pine Course 12 years ago. Since then, has it gone downhill. Carts as old as the hills. Clubhouse and facilitiies in desperate need for updating and course in so so condition. Greens were acceptable, but fairways had tons of burn out spots. No better than many of the much lower price level Sun City Courses. For such a great in town location, these McCormick Ranch courses need new management and better greens keepers.
The Legacy Golf Club
Played On 07/12/2019Greens worse than sand traps
They just arerated and sanded greens...nothing but sand. Fairways were in very good condition and course layout is excellent for the typical golfer. Customer service was below par, no pun intended. Pro shop staff: very good. Bag attendant was half dead and did not offer to help me unload or load my clubs. Gal in restaurant made me wait for 10 minutes for some ice water and fresh ice for my cooler at the turn and ..never said she was sorry for the wait even there were only two groups in the restaurant. The ice chest on the cart was empty. For such a classy golf course, they drop the ball for the summer players. Don’t play this course until the greens have recovered.
Cave Creek Golf Course
Played On 02/01/2019Overpriced muni
Overpriced for a mediocre muni. A lot of dead spots in fairways. Course not worth over 35 bucks a round. There are so many snow birds this year that rates are excessively high all over the :Phoenix area.
Riverview Golf Course

VERY SLOW PLAY. IF YOU TEE OFF AFTER 12 PM, YOU WILL NEVER FIINISH.
Sun City South Golf Course
Played On 09/20/2018Nice condition/no support facilities
For summer time , this course is in excellent condition compared to 90% of valley courses which are not maintained properly in the summer. However, their clubhouse was demolished recently in order to build a new clubshouse. As a result, food/beverage and a place to relax after your golf is non existant. Also, parking is minimal. If you just want to golf and go home, this is a nice place to play. Great staff.
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/05/2018Unfriendly to Golf Now Golfers
Pro shop made me feel guilty for booking through Golf Now. The pro in shop told me that Golf Now greens fees are at a giveaway type price. I felt like telling him, did Golf Now force you to contract with them so you lose money when guys like me book a round thru your course. For an average course with an empty parking lot , he should have never complained about Golf Now people taking advantage of them. I will think twice before booking thru this course again. When I play the other Sun City Courses , they are more than happy to have me there (North, South, Riverview, and Willow Creek).
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/30/2018Well Run Coarse
Greens were average (recently aerated). Fairways were overall good with only a few bad spots here and there. Pro Shop and other staff were very courteous and helpful. They even put your name on an assigned cart when you get there. Nice time to place this course since snow birds have flown the coup and pace of play is excellent.
Starfire Golf Club - The King Course
Played On 06/25/2018Muddy Duddy and Duddy Cart Guy
Fairways had many dead spots and were very muddy. I have played this course on and off for over 10 years and it normally is in pretty decent shape year round including June. Greens were recently aerated, which is normal for June. The starter gave me a cart with a defective brake lock and after the ranger confirmed it was malfunctioning, I returned it and the starter who tried to convince me that I did not know how to use a brake lock on a golf cart after I have golfed for over 54 years. He said the brake locks are adjusted for old people so you have to push them down very softly to make them lock...wrong . He also said there is not danger since their carts will not roll backwards on a slope when in forward....wrong. This one rolled back in forward on steep slopes since brake lock was defective and was a potential safety issue. He insulted my intelligence and made me feel like I was inept and showed no concern for the cart’s safety. The pro shop apologized for his behavior , but this tells me that their staff are not trained properly when dealing with customers. Spend your money on many other courses in better shape and with knowledgeable staff.
Thank you for your feedback both after your round and as a review. You can be reassured that this behavior by one of Starfire’s staff members is completely unacceptable and was dealt with immediately.
Please feel free to contact me personally if you would like to discuss this further, and thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Rancho Manana Golf Club
Played On 06/15/2018Sandbox greens
The Golf Now website gave no warning alerts for greens condition. According to the staff , the greens were aerated four days earlier. If I knew this I would have not booke the round . Golf Now gave me a credit for this proble. . Per Golf Now, Rancho Manana failed to notify Golf Now of this condition. Greens were so sandy, they were nearly unplayable.
Quarry Pines Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2018Interesting course
Great layout, nice elevation changes, very unique holes. Enjoyed the tight fairways. This is a course for accuracy and not for the big sluggers....the way golf used to be and should be today to attract more golfers. Few of us can smash it 250 yards.
Thank you for your 4 star review. We strive to create the best possible golfing experience for our guests. We hope to see you again soon.
Sun City South Golf Course
Played On 04/20/2018Old folks course
Good course for old folks. They allow fivsomes, which is unusual. Fairways need to be a bit longer. Very nice staff people. Probably the nicest staff of all of the Sun City Courses.
North Golf Course at Sun City
Played On 04/03/2018Disorganized Pro Shop
When I checked in, they had no record of the Golf Now booking and refused to contact Golf Now to clarify the problem. I had to call Golf Now. Also, the other two folks in our threesome who I just met that day said that they had similar experiences at Sun City North with lack of prepaid booking verifiication and found the pro shop attendants to be very unhelpful and apathetic to the situation. The manager needs to have a talk with his staff and stress to them the importance of outside booking services to their bottom line.
Coronado Golf Course
Played On 04/02/2018Primitive golf course
Poorly maintained golf course in the heart of Scottsdale...what a shame. Fairways were mostly dirt, minimal grass, fair greens and no protection from errant driving range balls on 9th hole. Cannot believe no one has seriously been hurt on the 9th hole with only partial netting. Be very careful when playing the last hole.. The owners of course are just begging for a lawsuit.
I have met the owners a few times, they have been trying for over a year to redo the netting, but the neighbors and the city haven't been letting them. Don't jump to conclusions. The course provides a niche. Not every course fits every person.
Sun City Lakes Golf Club - West Course
Played On 03/26/2018Nice course for old folks
Fives ones allowed is my only complaint. This is a course for the 65 and older crowd. It is a good course for senior ladies.
Sun City South Golf Course
Played On 03/05/2018Ridiculous pin placements
They put several of the pins on severe down slopes so if you missed the hole by just a little bit, in many cases it almost rolled off the green....very frustrating. Also, the fairways were cut a bit short so thin lies were very common. The balance of course was acceptable.
North Golf Course at Sun City
Played On 01/06/2018Nice course for retirees
Great course for old folks like me. Loved seeing lots of lady golfers out there...nice course for both men and women.
