Black Bear Golf Club
Played On 10/01/2019Deserves more visitors
Played many (more expensive) courses and this is the best value we played. Great hole design with tight greens this is a very nice test of golf. Tee boxes and fairways are excellent and greens recovering well from aeration though on the slow side. Had a nice beer in the friendly clubhouse to round off a great day. More golfers should take a trip out here rather than some of the overpriced tracks in Orlando.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
Played On 09/27/2019Great course
Played many courses in Orlando over the past few weeks and National course greens are the best. First rate golf facility and a beautifully presented, interesting course.
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 09/26/2019Great if you ignore the construction
Lots of construction going on through holes 3-8 and this does detract from the overall experience. However the course is presented well, good design and friendly staff.

Thus is an excellent golf facility in all respects.
Black Bear Golf Club
Played On 09/20/2019Enjoyable layout
We travelled 59 minutes to get to the course and at the price that we paid for our golf, it was worth it. The greens are still in recovery from being punched but rolled reasonably well. Everything else was excellent.
North Shore Golf Course
Played On 09/18/2019Seen better days
I'm not sure where the 5 star reviews come from. We've been vacationing in the Orlando area for two weeks playing golf at different courses each day and this was by some way the worst we've played. Greens had been punched which is fine usually but they were also covered in unsightly patches where weeds had been treated. Fairways were patchy with lots of bare patches at the sides. Staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly, simply didn't seem to care whether you were there or not.

Played On 09/08/2019Relaxing gams
We had been informed by golf now well in advance of our game that the greens had been aerated and that they would be in recovery. We chose to keep our booking and I'm very pleased that we did as the course was quiet and we had a relaxing, enjoyable game. The layout of the course is interesting and the holes are challenging but fair. Will definitely return.
Arcot Hall Golf Club
Played On 09/03/2019Nice course with good staff
The staff were very accommodating and pleasant, allowing us to start on hole 10 due to hold up at the first tee. Tee boxes were in reasonable condition. Greens rolled well. Fairways and semi were okay. The locker rooms/toilet facilities are in need of an upgrade and whilst you don't visit a golf facility for this, it gives an impression that the club has seen better days. Take some spray for midge at this time of year as the damp conditions make bites inevitable without it.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
Played On 09/09/2019Tedious attitude spoiled it.
Played as a threesome and was made to wait until exactly our starting time even though the course was very quiet and the tee box was free for 20 minutes before our time. The starter claimed it was because someone else had booked to play with us but that person never showed. Other players that had booked to play El Campeon with golfnow were experiencing the same issue even though the first tee on that course was also free. As someone who has played here many times and been fullsome in my praise for how this facility is run I found the whole experience embarrassing.
It is 60 minutes drive to this course from where we are staying and I have found much better hospitality and value for money nearer to Orlando at this time of year. Course nice but disappointing experience.
Arlington Ridge Golf Club
Played On 12/11/2018Worth a drive
We thoroughly enjoyed our round. If it were closer to where we stay we would play here often. The course is a 50 minute drive but the competitive green fees and good course conditions make it a good day out.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
Played On 11/23/2018Excellent place to golf
This venue is a shining example of how a golf experience should be. Brilliant staff with no gimmicks like valet parking, club cleaning, loading bags onto carts .... do golfers want all that? What I want is a great course prepared by staff that obviously care about the their course and that's exactly what you always get at Mission Inn. The course is challenging but fair. The greens were slower than I remember them on my last visit but that didn't detract from a great afternoon. Super golf at a fair price, who can ask for more?!
Thanks for the 5-stars and great feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed your recent round with us at Mission Inn Resort & Club. Join us again soon!
RedTail Golf Club
Played On 11/20/2018A little disappointed
The course had a heavy rain shower the day we played but nothing to explain the very wet areas on a number of fairways. we were asked to drive our cart in the rough by a pleasant ranger and that was no problem. The greens were good as were tee boxes. My only issue with the course is the number of holes that require 'target golf' by having expanses of rough running through the fairway. Not only is that unusual in golf course design it is even uncommon on most quality Orlando courses. Why do that? Unless it is to do with reducing the need for tending to expansive well manicured fairways. I like this course but I fear it is starting to go downhill on the basis of my experience.
Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 11/18/2018Overpriced for cart path only
I have played this course several times and enjoyed it. Today I had mixed feelings. Greens very good and pace of play exceptionally good. However I felt let down. Booked through golf now and no warning about over seeding and cart path only. However the information was clearly given on the golf club website so I guess it's my fault for not checking in advance. However I feel the course is over priced for players on vacation and cart path only is never a pleasant experience in warm weather, All fairways had about 2 inches of new grass growth meaning very limited roll out of drives. Hard work. Also, many tee boxes had been combined so not an accurate representation of golf game. I get the feeling that the management of OCN consider the courses to warrant high green fees whatever the conditions which is sad. Courses do need over seeding but prices should really reflect that situation. I have played other courses in the area in the past week for lower green fees and better course condition.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
Played On 11/17/2018Much improved from last year
We played the National course last year at about the same time and were disappointed. But what an improvement this year. Greens were exceptional and fairways and tee boxes beautifully presented. Staff first class, friendly and professional.
Excellent! We're thrilled that you enjoyed our course and that you've noticed the improvements in our conditions. We're also glad that our staff left a great impression on you. We can't wait to have you back again soon at ChampionsGate!
Grand Cypress - North/South
Played On 11/16/2018First class golf venue
Everything about this venue is great. The staff are friendly, professional and the course was beautifully presented. Pace of play was great even though we were a twosome following several 4 balls. Also, the course is very good value through golf now compared to several overpriced hotel courses nearby.
Oaks National Golf Club
Played On 11/09/2018A good value course
Had a good afternoon golfing at this course. Fairways and greens were good. Tee boxes have come in for some criticism in reviews but I found most to be fine. The only negative I have is the wet areas around the greens which is mentioned by most reviewers. It means that you have to hit greens otherwise have a plugged or lost ball. As most greens are slightly elevated it must be as a result of irrigation run off but it is quite unsightly. Take an extra club so you don't come up short and it will improve your scoring.
Thank you for your review! We truly appreciate any and all feedback. Yes, unfortunately, the areas around the greens do get fairly wet over the course of the summer. Our guys have been hard at work making improvements to avoid that level of wetness. Luckily, as we continue to go without rain, they are drying up and will be back to normal in no time. We hope that you will join us again soon for another round and see more improvements!
Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
Played On 11/16/2017Shame about pace of play
This is a top class golf venue. Friendly, professional staff and an excellent course. It's such a shame about the pace of play. We were a twosome so expected hold ups and maybe a 4.5 hour round but nothing could prepare us for what we experienced. Sailed around 8 holes in quick time then ground to a halt big style. Although we started at before 1pm it was 5pm getting to 14th. Terrible. No ranger!! Major problem. One player in the group ahead hit 3 shanks off the tee and appeared to lose 5 balls on one hole. Still sized up put on green. Unbelievable. Unfortunately the group would probably use the argument that 'they couldn't go anywhere because off group' in front of them. In my experience, this is ruining the game. Mission Inn is a superb golf facility but needs to address the problem of slow play. It is the third time in recent weeks I have experienced this problem and it deters me from rebooking and driving 60 mins to get there. I realise that everyone's dollar is important but to allow this situation to continue is not good for the facility.
First, we'd like to apologize for the pace of play and more importantly that you did not see a ranger. It was a very busy day for us but that is no excuse for the pace you played at. Please give us another opportunity to show that our typical pace on Las Colinas is 4 hours and 20 minutes. Thank you for your feedback.

Played On 11/07/2017Maybe just a bad time to visit
This course is more than an hour to drive from the resort areas of Orlando but, having read some of the positive reviews, we thought that we'd give it a try. The weather was perfect,, the carts are new and the course layout is interesting, bordering the lake on a few of the holes. Unfortunately, that's where the positives stopped for us. The course has clearly seen better days, fairways were patchy and the greens had many spots of crabgrass; they were very slow. Overseeding and the excessive watering that goes with it was present around the fringes of most of the greens but in fairness this was signposted at the clubhouse. We stopped after nine for a snack but could only be offered hot dogs!! Not even a sandwich was available. Apparently the chef was on holiday for two weeks but surely you don't need a chef to make a sandwich? Overall, we formed the view that this was a once excellent course and facility which is now struggling to make ends meet.

Played On 11/04/2017Excellent value golf
Although the fairways are quite dry the overall condition of the course is very good. The layout is interesting with a nice variety of holes. Staff are professional and friendly. Probably the best value game in the Orlando area.
Wonderful! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time at ChampionsGate Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you at the course soon for another 5-star experience!
