The Club at Eaglebrooke
Played On 03/11/2017Really Nice, Great Value
It's rare but I can't really fault the course for anything. The course was in great condition. The greens were a good speed and no issues. We had perfect weather with only a slight breeze. Bunkers had the perfect amount of sand.
We met a very large gator and a medium-sized one on the back nine which was neat to see. We didn't see any gators in Orlando although we did a few years ago when we went down.
Back to the course review - no complaints and worth every penny.
Ranch at Black Diamond Ranch Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/08/2017Wow!
We had the opportunity to play Black Diamond Ranch without having to stay there, so we chose to make the 1.5hr drive from Orlando to play. Of course, we chose to play Quarry course for the famous 5 holes. A bit pricey, especially with the USD/CAD exchange rate right now.
It was a bit breezy, so it made a challenging course a little more difficult, especially the long par 3s. The left waste bunker on the 2nd hole had a pool of water, so some grading required to get rid of that water. The other bunkers we experienced had a thin layer of fluffy sand and then dense sand only about an inch below. We don't know when it rained last.
The rest of the course was in amazing conditions. Fast greens, rolled true, great!
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 03/06/2017Good for first round of the season
My husband and I chose this course based on the great reviews, location and cost from our resort in Kissimmee. This was our first round since October so we didn't want to go to a difficult course and we didn't want to spend too much money and this met our needs.
It started off terrible but nothing to do with the course or golfing. We were on a toll road and the exit for this course shows SunPass only. GET OFF THE ROAD ANYWAYS!!! We ended up missing the next exit/U-turn because it was on the left side instead of the right and ended up driving an extra 60 miles to Yeehaw Junction. We ended up getting to the course only half an hour after our tee time and the guys in the proshop were really nice but unfortunately, we had only 5 minutes to warm up.
The course was decent. It was a fairly breezy day which is always fun... All the long grass had been cut down so not really a difficult course. Rough was non-existent. Yes, there's a lot of water on the white course but it didn't seem to affect anyone in our group. The greens were very slow.
