Blind leading the blind

First with the good part. Golf staff very friendly. The course itself was in generally good condition, but the green had lots of discolored areas and they were slow and bumpy. There are many shots that are essentially blind with undulating fairways that make it difficult to know where to aim and hit your ball. This being a first time look made a course that is quite challenging even more difficult. Make sure you're playing really good if you decide to tackle this course!

Great golf course, but they need new carts!

We have played this course several times in the last year and it almost always is in great shape. Today our play was hampered by the weather, and the fact that the greens had recently been aerated.
The real problem with the course is that the golf carts are in horrendous condition!! They are old. I was told they are 12yrs. and were bought used. They are slow, and the brakes are nearly nonexistent. The owner does a fantastic job of making the course a treat and pleasure to play. I would hate to see someone get hurt with the carts, because they are bordering on being dangerous. To the management and owner: please get new carts. Try the lease programs!!

Our carts, as is our course, are maintained at the highest standards demanded by our owner. We take pride in our outstanding maintenance department, with a great staff, scheduled regular maintenance as well as maintenance logs on all equipment. We apologize for any bad experience you may have had with our cart. We are well aware of new cart options, but choose to spend our budget on the course experience. As always thank you for your input it makes Juliette Falls a better course for all!

A good course that needs some help

Played on a Sunday morning with a very nice pace as there were not many people playing. The staff was friendly and laid back since it was slow. No starter on Sunday and we followed two ladies. The range is horrible!! No grass, small area! No worth paying $4 for a bucket of balls.
The golf course itself is a very nice layout with enough challenges make things interesting. A mix of longer and shorter holes. Part of the course has no houses. The course is tired and needs a lot of TLC, Many of the greens are lost, and areas off the fairways are bare, with bumps and holes. This could be a really nice course, but I suppose they management/owners are financially unable to give the care it needs. Unfortunate.

A great course once!

I have been an owner at Orange Lake since this course opened in 1998. When it was built, the great Arnold Palmer put his touch and created a layout that was signature Arnie. Unfortunately, those left to tend to his vision have either chosen to disgrace Mr Palmer, or were and are incompetent to bring it back to its pristine beginnings. I bought at Orange Lake to specifically have the chance to play this course, but over the last 10+ years I refused to even try. As one person noted, there are people playing the course without shirts and have probably never touched a golf club. A course that should require a $100+ green fee can be had for $20 these days. Don't waste your money! There are many better courses in Orlando@

Very disappointed!

We had played this course a few years ago and enjoyed the time. While the bag drop guys were very nice, and and the pro shop check-in was friendly, we discovered we paid way too much to play this course under the conditions. While we know it's summer and hot in Arizona, the Palmer course should have been in better condition. Many fairway edges were just plain bare with little or no grass. Areas in fairways and around greens were soaked with irrigation water, and we had many mud balls. In 105 degree weather!
Overall, the layout is good, and the course is challenging but the condition was a huge disappointment!!

Course in Disrepair

My wife played this course on a golf package while staying at the Mission Inn resort. First, I'll say that nearly all of the staff at the resort is extremely friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate any request. The day we played this course the cart attendant must have been on drugs as he was useless, and the range was full of golf school people. We had to pick up our own range balls to warm up!!
This course is in terrible condition. It was apparently redesigned in 2007, and you could see many holes that were abandoned to create other holes. The course is very fair and has some nice challenges, but most of the holes are very far apart and takes a lot of driving to get to each tee from the previous green. Many holes had cart paths in total dis-repair with ropes diverting traffic along wooded areas with roots, branches, etc. to navigate. The greens were in good shape but very, very slow and shaggy.
We came to the resort based on good reviews from this web site, but this course was simply awful and I would not recommend playing here with so many good courses around Orlando.

Unfortunate timing of day to play

First, I'll start with the good. This course is a beautiful and challenging course in fabulous condition, that is in keeping with the Troon Golf experience. I would love the opportunity to play this course again.
However, the day we played we were behind a group outing that included people who apparently had never touched a golf club. Also, we were behind a 3some of guys who hit into us twice, and were right on top of us, until we had a marshall talked to them.
So, the overall experience was not much fun for us, and we were really disappointed with such a great golf course. Be sure to make sure to play on a less busy day to really enjoy the course!

Interesting and challenging course

The Crossings is a very nice golf course that offers great vistas and challenging tee shots, which makes for an enjoyable overall round. Holes play steep downhill and uphill, with wind a factor virtually every shot on the day we played. Playing with someone who knows the course is very helpful, which we had.
The greens were less than desirable, as they had been sanded recently, and were quite bumpy. The really detracted from the experience. Also, the course is right under a local airport that has planes right overhead constantly.
Overall, this is a good course, but I would not pay the rack rate!

Tough, Beautiful Course

This is a wonderful golf course primarily because of it's beauty. Also, that is was built in the 1950s by RTJ Sr. Very challenging for someone who does not play mountain style courses very often. Virtually every hole is worthy of a picture. The whole place is very laid back and easy going, with a reminder of times past. Of course, the price of the golf is steep, but it's worth it for at least once!

Great golf course, wonderful staff!

Obviously, one would think something associated with Waldorf-Astoria would be first class, and this golf facility is no exception. Great staff from valet parking to starter. The course is very good, and has some challenging holes. Excellent condition even in early October. Definitely worth spending a bit more to play a quality golf course.

Needs some work.

We were recommended this course, along with Hilton Head National, by a pro in the area. Crescent Pointe has many features of an Arnold Palmer design, but it seem an older course with less than impeccable maintenance. Many baked out areas in the fairways, roughs, and greens. The greens were slow and grainy and bumpy (We are used to playing 11-11.5 stimp greens). The best part of the course is the design of the holes, some quite fair, some quite challenging, with only a few forced carries. Also, several long drives between holes made for a longer time to play the course. Overall, it should be better than it is.

Great layout, excellent condition

Hilton Head National is a very nice golf course, that's in great condition. The best part of the course is that there are no houses/building around the course. Just nature and golfers. We played in the afternoon, and all you could hear was the chirp of birds and the "crack" of the tee shots! This will be one of our favorites every trip to Hilton Head!

Good course with some challenging holes

Enjoyable golf experience on a well maintained course. While not pristine, it was in good shape. The greens, however, were painfully slow and grainy. Some holes over wetland areas provided for target golf, but many holes were straight forward. They charge for range balls, but we talked the pro into comp-ing ours. Upper-end course should never, ever charge for range balls when paying the green fees! Overall, a decent experience.

Wet day, great course

Unfortunately, the course was cart path only due to heavy rain the night before. The course is a beautiful, well maintained track that one would expect from the Ritz-Carlton. I would definitely want to play this course again in drier conditions.

Not as good as hyped!

I this course to be just ok. It was presented as a high quality/high end course with multiple accolades. First, there is no range for warm-up. There is only a net with a few rotten practice balls scattered about. The course itself was in decent, but not great, shape and had enough challenges to make it interesting. The staff was friendly, but not effusive. While we played "out-of-season", this course should charge 25-50% less for their fees.
