Excellent Makeover

What used to be the Weed is now Blossoming into a fine local muni. It's not long, but it's not a cakewalk either. The greens are terrific as are the general course conditions. The pace of play is as expected for a muni.
Resident rate is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the food and bev are above average. The only ding is the lack of driving range, so be ready to putt and go!

Slow Play and Rangers Gone Wrong

Our group reconsidered PM despite the farther drive due to it's great course conditions and good pace. Oh were we wrong. We teed off at 10am on Sunday and walked off 18 at 2:40. The starter insisted that all groups were making the turn at 2 hours. At the 3 hour mark on 13 we called in as the group ahead was crazy pokey. The ranger insisted that we were on pace and that it may have seemed slower for a Saturday (yea, we played on a Sunday). I guess he expected us to play 6 holes in just over an hour, which didn't compute. The ranger at 18 advised, "we asked that group in front to speed up 4 times". Even with a 10 minute cushion, I was late to an afternoon function after giving so many props to this course for pace of play. The cavalier ranger attitude and misinformation take this course off of our list.

Overrated

Given the buzz from big break FL, and the greens fee, I expected much better course conditions. The fairways were brown and and not in very good shape at all-- there were leaves everywhere. The greens were in very good condition though. The course overall reminded me of a muni that was waaaay past it's prime. The best holes were 16-18 IMHO. Very good service and driving range/ chipping putting area. For $120, a poor value-- no gps on carts either. I wouldn't play it again.

Worth it if you have 5 hours

I can't ignore a decent muni that's 10 min from my house, but buyer beware--- Ive never finished a round here in under 4.5 hrs and have walked off after an almost 3 hour front 9!

No ranger to be found and there's 5 somes everywhere with apparently big bucks hanging on each shot. Low etiquette crowd. Too bad because the #1 track is a classic.
