First of all I will just say that I love this track. Always have. The conditions are good on the fairways and on the greens. Some of the outlying areas are overgrown and could be cleaned up. I joined the threesome and Teed off at 7:50 AM On a Sunday morning. We waited on every shot for the foursome in front of us that had multiple holes Open in front of them. There was no one there to tell them to speed it up. We didn’t finish until well after 1 o’clock. Was also disappointed to see that the snack bar had closed. It was just open a couple months ago. What happened?

This is such a great track. Really nothing else compares in the IE. It’s too bad they have let the conditions go so far in the wrong direction. If they can grow grass around the greens they can grow it in the fairways and on the tees. Shame on management for not overseeding. At least they are starting to get sand back in the bunkers and the snack bar is back open. Time to spend some of that money you have made during the pandemic when golf boomed. Please also clean up the spaces in between the geeens and the next tees. Disgraceful to see so many weeds and gophers taking over.

This course will not be coming back from the dead. Half of the greens are like putting on broccoli. All but 4 of the tee boxes were tilted, uneven and hard as a rock. Fairways were either thin or had little tufts the size of a quarter so the ball could nestle down in between. No sand in the bunkers. Nine of the holes have always been quirky. 5 greens had just been aerated on Friday with no warning from the staff or usual discount provided by other courses. With all of the money this place is making this course should be pristine. When you don’t pay for upkeep or a knowledgeable greeens keeper this is what happens. Was charged $95 for absolute garbage conditions. So many better options in the IE for way less $.

Proshop and snack bar are in trailers. Why? Just rehab the old clubhouse. It’s an eyesore. Fairways and grass around the greens were awful. The sand in the bunkers is good. Ever heard of aerating and overseeding? For those that loved this place 30 yrs ago the driving range is gone and #9 on Mountain is a par three. The design was always quite special here but I would rather play a traditional layout in good condition. Words just can’t express the how disappointed I was considering the fix is so easy.

Played here 4 weeks ago and the wind was blowing 30mph. Had to quit after 9. So watch weather forecasts. Teed off early bcuz of heat. Played in 2:15 as a single. 2 beautiful par 3 holes on the back. Really like all the par 5’s. Some bare patches in the fairway and traps were wet. Other than that the course is in great shape. Greens were slow but rolled true. Easy to chip from the nice light rough. I’ll be back soon.

This really is a terrific design. The problem is they just don’t water or maintain the tees, fairways or hazards. It just needs a top notch superintendent to bring this back to its glory days. So sad to see a greatt track in this poor condition. Just no grass to hit off of in the fairways. The only positive things are the greens which I would give 4 stars. The greens were extremely hard with even short irons running out 10 yards. They did roll true for putting but were slow.

The back nine is really great on this course. Tight from the tee because of the trees but visually stunning. Greens small and undulating. All the makings of a top course... Except for all the 'brown'. This place is DRIED OUT. Very few patches of grass in the fairways. Only 2 or 3 greens were decent. Why don't they water this place? Could be a solid four star course if it got some water.

This great track is in serious need of maintenance. Aeration... Water... Leveling of some of the tees. It was more than just winter golf in SoCal. Overall rating of average because the track is so good and there was still the opportunity to bump the ball on to a decent lie. That's the good news.

Bad news is that the pace of play has also deteriorated. There was one junior team(4 players walking and their non-playing coach who was riding) that I played thru on 6. They were obviously only playing 9. The problem was that they had started at 12:30. It was now 2:30 and they were only thru 6. Got stuck behind a larger group(12 players in 3 groups) that had started at 11 and were not done at 5:30 !! I didn't even play the last two holes as it was getting dark. No Marshall anywhere. If you go later in the day be sure to ask about any high school groups that may be on the course. They are not getting trained properly if they are not being taught to play fast.

This is my favorite course and a must play if you love golf. Yesterday was uncommonly cold and play was difficult. Maybe that lent to the abnormally slow play. I don't mind the lack of grass in the fairway but the greens are so hard and fast that it is close to unplayable. Water and warmth would help.

Lack of rain notwithstanding this course needs a slight face lift. I wish they would put some money into upkeep as It is too good a design to let it go like they have.

It had just rained the night before but not hard enough for the course to be THAT muddy. Greens were good, as usual, but the lies on the rest of the course we're poor. No sand in the bunkers. The tee boxes on the par 3's were terrible. Not level, gouged up with divots. The new clubhouse is very nice. Why did it take so long to get that built? Food was below average in quality and freshness. The staff was hot and cold. One was very nice and accommodating the other gal was a bit snippy. Front nine moved fairly well. On 10 we ran into two fivesomes ahead of us that we're very slow. Why would someone walk that slowly off the green on every hole? They don't walk that slowly down the street? Maybe they were zombie golfers. That's how slowly they walked. No Marshall or roving beverage cart here. You are on your own.
