WestRidge Golf Course
Played On 03/10/2019It’s such a shame...
This course has potential but the conditions are horrible. The greens were the worst I’ve played n the DFW area in quite some time. They were like a battlefield. It’s sad because I really enjoy the course layout especially the 6-6-6 format. I doubt if I visit the course any time soon.
Tour 18 Dallas
Played On 10/09/2017Course has improved
I had played Tour 18 twice before this round. The greens and general condition was iffy both times. It was much improved this time. The bunkers were better but still need quite a bit of work. The greens were pretty good. They seemed fairly smooth and rolled at a slightly above average pace. You could actually see the potential that this course has. It still has a ways to go and may never get back to its old glory but it's a lot better than it has been the past couple of years.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2016Fun course, conditions were good
I've been waiting for people to confirm the course conditions were improving before I played this course for the first time. After reading the most recent reviews I decided to give it a shot. I wasn't disappointed. The greens were in good shape, above average speed and smooth. The front 9 was in great shape. The back 9 was in good shape too but you could see where the water had gotten out of the banks of the creeks. It didn't affect anything unless you got close to the creeks. I enjoyed the course layout. It has a good mix of doglegs, some elevation changes and some challenging holes. I will definitely be playing there again.
The Bridges Golf Club
Played On 07/14/2016Not sure what to think of course (3.5 stars)
I really wanted to like this course. I'm not really sure what I think of though. My expectations may have been higher than they should have been and that could have led to me not being overly impressed with the course.
I'll start off by saying it's out in the middle of nowhere. The course was in normal shape for this time of the year. The greens were hard (you could barely dent the greens). The were average speed to me. They were in pretty good shape too. There is a lot of undulation to them. I thought that was somewhat unique. There are a lot of bunkers and many elevation changes but not severe ones. There were many blind shots off the tee and I don't feel the scorecard did a very good job of helping you pick the correct line. I was burnt by that more than once. The holes began to feel all the same to me. This could be due to the fact that they all look and feel the same for the most part. There are very few trees as is to be expected on a links style course. I enjoyed the par 5 finishing hole. That could be a really tough hole especially into the wind.
Overall I had fun but I doubt if I ever play it again. It was about an hour drive for me from Dallas. I'd play it again if it was closer.
Hi "brock125" We appreciate your honest feedback, and hope that you will give us another try in the near future.
Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club
Played On 06/14/2016Excellent conditions
This is the second time I've played Heritage Range and it didn't disappoint. The course was in outstanding shape and was mostly dry considering all the rain we've had in the past month. The greens were perfect and were quick. The pace of play was good (just under 4 hours for 3 of us). This is now one of my favorite courses in the DFW area.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 05/18/2016One of my new favorites...
This was my first time playing Frisco Lakes and it didn't disappoint. The weather wasn't very good for this time of year (60's, windy and overcast) so that made the course play a little tougher. It was a fun and enjoyable layout. It has a nice mix of holes (on the water, through the trees, over water, doglegs, etc). I really enjoyed #7 (drivable par 4 over water). I also like the par 5 finishing holes on each side. The greens were quick but still had a little sand (and maybe fertilizer) on them, I assume it was some kind of topdressing. I'll definitely go back but it's quite a drive from Richardson.
The Courses at Watters Creek - Traditions Course
Played On 05/09/2016Excellent bang for your buck
The Courses at Waters Creek didn't disappoint. The greens were smooth and fast. The fairways were in good condition. The only issue we encountered were two temporary greens on 16 and 17. I'll give them credit though because the temporary greens were better than any temporary greens I've seen. It's a fun course with a few challenging holes.
Bridges - The Masters at Firewheel Golf of Garland
Played On 06/12/2015Great Value
This is one of the best bang for your buck courses I've ever played. It was very well maintained considering it was under water a couple of weeks ago. The flooding washed most of the sand away from the bunkers and they had already refilled them with the nice white sand. The greens were in great shape and fairly soft for this area. The fairways and tee boxes were nice. I enjoyed the layout and would definitely play it again.
