What Happened?

I used to absolutely enjoy playing Tour 18, however it is so rundown. The greens are in terrible shape. We invoked a no worse than 2 putt rule they were so bad. The course needs a lot of maintenance from the cart paths, greens, to the the club house. When this course was in proper condition, I had no issues paying $100 to $125 a round, however $60 was way too high for the conditions of this course. How disappointing. It was the same last year when I played, however I had expectations that it would be better. It was not. I will not be back unless I hear that it is the proper condition. Sad.

New Green Fast/Pace of Play Not So Much

The Tribute is my favorite course to play. I love the experience of the playing the replica open holes. The new green (replaced last golf season) we extremely fast and did not have much bite, and I hit the ball high. This might be purposeful to mimic the open courses, however that is a change from the previous greens. The pace of play was slow due to the short interval between tee times and the grouping (ie 4some, 3some, 2 some, 2some etc) However, I really enjoy the course so the longer pace is acceptable to me. Have fun, land short on the green, and eat a sammy as you wait. Lastly, the green rolled really nice for putting!

Great Experience: Watch out for older female Marshall!

The course layout is great... plenty of challenge for a level of golfers. One key thing, look at the yardage of the tees that you want to play as the yardage is shorter than typical courses, ie the white tee boxes are shorter than at other DFW courses. I typically play white, but moved back to blue since the white distance was short. Before our round, we ate at the grill and the bartender that served us was extremely friendly. She provided great service. The Pro-Shop and starter experience was great. Very friendly and helpful in getting the round kicked off. We were paired with two women golfers from New York! That was a first for me and they made the round fun. I initially thought they were in early for the LPGA event being held next week and when one of the bombed a tee shot (from the whites BTW) I was sure of it! Around hole ten, our playing partners had a run in with the Female Marshall. The ladies were off the cart path by about ten feet on a hole where it was cart path only, clearly a violation of etiquette. The Marshall stated rudely to "really obey the cart path polices"... our new New York friend apologized several time and said it was the first time they have played the course. We rolled up afterward, and I jokingly said, "they are not with us". They reply I got was "well teach them right!" The play on the back was slower as we caught the group in front of us. When the Marshall caught up to us on 16, she stated that we needed to pick up play because we were a hole and a half behind. I thought we must had time warped because we literally had to wait before hitting our shots. When we got to the 17th tee box, we had to wait for the group in front to hit their second shots before we could tee. I was impressed with our ability to make up so much ground in a short period of time! Overall, it was about a 4 hour round including a stop for eats/relief after nine. With the exception of the Marshall events, it was a great day at a great course. I will return again.

Tough but Fair - Enjoyable

The course is in really good shape. Even though it was crowded, the pace of play was good... we were not waiting on the foursome in front of us nor was the foursome behind us waiting on us. Deep rough around the green will penalize you if you find yourself in it (and I did - several times). Greens were in nice shape and rolled fast, but true. Not enough yardage makers nor GPS so I suggest you bring your own, otherwise you will have to estimate based on the stone 150 maker and some of the cartpaths had the blue/white/red lines. Great day of golf on what is a tougher track for my skill set. Look forward to the next round there

Enjoyable Round

First time I have played this course since it was Chase Oaks. I really enjoyed the layout and the condition of the course was great. The trees continue to mature and with some of the changes, holes ranged from straight forward to challenging. The greens were in nice condition and rolled true. While the clubhouse looks the same as it did way back when, it is nice, clean, and comfortable. All staff members were friendly and accommodating. Definitely will play this again.

Disappointing

Had my brother in town from California and one of his buddies from Waco came up to play. Neither had played a Tour 18 elsewhere and wanted to have the experience of doing so. Normally the course is in great condition, but not when we played. They lost many of the greens and appeared to be trying to save them, including having temporary greens. While I understand that, there should be more notice of that and discount the round far better than what they sold for. Yes, we could have chosen elsewhere and would have if we would have known the greens were so poor. Not sure how the greens are now a month later, but $39 would be the value for the course in that condition.

Awesome course, but unforgiving

For an average golfer like me, the course is too tough in some areas. You have to be straight off the tee, slightly off the fairway is punative in the desert. Condition of the course was lush, greens in excellent shape and fast, but true. Overall, if you are looking for a desert resort type course that is fun to play and challenging, this may not be your course. If you are looking for an intermidiate challenge, then you will find ample opportunities here

Cool Track

The concept of 6 psr 5s, 4s, and 3s (par 72) was unique. Overall the course is in good shape fir beginning of February. Good challenges for any level of golfer. They were completely booked, but was happy with the pace of play. I will definitely play this course again.

Fun track good time

Enjoyable track with nice greens! Pace of play was great with no one being held up in front or behind our group Course was a little wet after the rain, but drained well. Good balance of challenges with trees, water, and sand, however fair tee boxes made it enjoyable for the different skill sets in our group.

Resort Course - great value

The course is what you imaging a resort course in Palm Springs to be.. great views, fair and challenging holes, and well manicured. Some of the greens were patchy in spots and it was noticeable that they are trying to recover those areas.
