We threw the course a curveball when we showed up with our own foursome after reserving tee times for 3 people. That sent the clerk into a tizzy and he made it known how difficult it was going to be because they had already added a single to our group. We had a 9:36 start. The only thing he had to do was move us to 9:44 AM and include the single with whom ever was in the 944 group that was now going to tee off eight minutes earlier. There were no others scheduled after us as it was a hot day and the course was recently aerated (two days earlier). I asked whether or not the greens were going to be OK and was told that there was going to be sand on them. That was true but we still found them to be reasonably smooth on those slow.. The starter had told us that it should not be any kind of a problem but the clerk who had to now I just are method of payment was still peevish and grumpy. if he had been decent about it, instead of making us feel as though we should exclude a family member, he would have received a tip for having to make adjustments. Instead, we left without purchasing anything in the pro shop. Later, though; my grandsons did find a golf ball sale that they could not pass up. When we finished there was no one to unload the cart. So, for an undiscounted rate, we were put off a little by the staffs unfriendliness. On the other hand the course was very interesting and challenged our skill level .

We were very disappointed in this course. It was supposedly transitioning after aieration from ryegrass to Bermuda and the greens were thick with sand and impossible to putt t. My grandsons and I were very disappointed in the course conditions.

Last minute booking for a great price. While the fairways were very wide, there are many wash areas and every hole has water, bunkers or both. I took a fair share of penalty strokes but could only blame myself. The fairways were still manicured well. The grass cutters shut down when golfers approach and the greens were in good shape for this time of year. There are four teeing grounds to accommodate all levels of play. Arnold Palmer designed and while difficult, I loved it.

It was a Friday evening when we finished our around and could not even get a cold ice tea as the restaurant bar, etc Was closed. Additionally, there was no beverage service or water available anywhere on the course. They are operating with a skeleton crew and it shows.

I love the course. It's a little inconvenient and off island but well worth getting in your car and going 20 minutes west on 278.
