Cool Old School Layout With Awesome Staff!

Let me start off by saying the staff was incredibly friendly, and it really was a pleasure to feel so welcomed.

I really enjoyed the layout of the course, from the back tees the par 3s are a nice challenge & you have to work it both ways off the tee or layup to the corner of the doglegs. I really had to plot my way around and only hit 2 drivers even from the back tee boxes. I think for the lower handicap with good course management skills the back tees are the way to go; they really make you think and force you to execute your shots.

The overall course condition were good. The greens are older and have some grain to them, but still rolled nice. The greens were very healthy with lots of grass on them. My ball sat nicely in the fairway & the rough was just long enough to make shots coming out a little unpredictable... just like it should be. There is trouble to be found on this course for all but overall it's very playable. For the higher handicap player you will enjoy your day, there are no forced carries. Some bits of water cut in a little around the greens but it can all be avoided without being forced to play over it.

This course has older facilities and is not a fancy modern property but I really liked the old school laid back feel. I don't need anything but a nice course with friendly people and that's what Litchfield has!. I'll be back.

A Nice Day At True Blue!

Very enjoyable at day at one of the better courses on Pawleys Island. The course was in great shape & my playing companion and I were paired up with a really nice father & son from NC.

The bag drop staff, the golf shop staff & the restaurant staff were all very friendly and gave great service. However, the starter seemed a bit grumpy and was not very welcoming. Later in the round he turned into a ranger and was wasn't any friendlier. I also noticed he spent a good amount of time hunting for balls in one of the wetlands behind us. He didn't wreck our day or anything like that but having played Caledonia the week before where the staff was just plain awesome I thought we would have the same experience across the board.

Anyway, if you are in the area this one still remains a must play & is still my third favorite on Pawleys. For the record; Caledonia is king in my book and Heritage just nips True Blue for 2nd place.

A Great Day In Paradise!

I love his course and have since the first time I played it!

I called before booking to check on the greens and overall condition of the course. The very polite and friendly staff member who I spoke with said the greens were "immaculate".. they told the truth. I have played golf for 35 years and have be very lucky to play some dream courses, the greens today were as good as anything I've putted on. The overall condition of the course was very impressive; beautifully maintained fairways (that the ball sits up on) and evenly cut rough that's just long enough to make you think about what the ball is going to do when it comes out. Every hole was a joy to play!

The staff was attentive, friendly & extremely polite. This is public access golf at it's best, and truly great golf experience!

In my opinion Pawleys Island is the best part of the 'Grand Strand', and Caledonia is the best of the bunch. If you come to town be sure to play True Blue, Heritage & Pawleys Plantation as well! Those 3 along with Caledonia will make a truly memorable golf trip!

A Beautiful Day On A Beautiful Course!

I really enjoyed my day at Heritage! My wife and I were paired with some longtime members who guided us around the course like seasoned caddies. I suspect the local knowledge saved me at least 5 shots.... and allowed me to shoot a very good score from the back tees.

The course layout is picturesque, and the condition of the course was excellent! The greens rolled very true at a very comfortable almost fast speed. Judging the mounds and levels on the greens was fairly challenging but the greens were so consistent it was pretty easy to adapt.

The staff was friendly and the (included) lunch afterwards was tasty.

I'll be back!
