RedTail Golf Club
Played On 01/21/2017Difficult but not memorable
Difficult course for the average golfer, but not memorable like many high draw difficult courses. Condition was great, but not worth the drive. Wouldn't play it again.
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 07/02/2016Great value, fun course, friendly staff
Loved the layout, staff was very nice, especially the starter. Pace of play about what you'd expect around Orlando on a Saturday.
Capital City Country Club
Played On 05/25/2015Best I've ever seen it, and a great deal
Have never seen this course so good since I've lived here. Weather was perfect, so was the course. Staff was also friendly. Highly recommend.
Lakewood Golf Club
Played On 01/24/2015Looking forward to playing again in better weather
Despite the cold, soggy weather on the day we played, I enjoyed the round. Looking forward to next time on a warmer day and knowing the course better. Lost several balls to water on shots I thought weren't that bad, but not knowing the course hurt me. Staff was super friendly. Expected much better facilities for $100 but the course was well cared for. Has some holes tightly packed together so watch out for errant shots. Some pin locations were really tough, very close to edges.
Deltona Club
Played On 12/06/2014Fun course. Deceptively difficult
Loved this course. A Florida course can be fun and challenging without water everywhere.
The Island Country Club
Played On 10/24/2014Challenging course, but still fun
This course has some very narrow fairways bordered by water, OB, or both. Has several 400+ par 4s. However, it offers some shotmaking opportunities and is more playable than it initially seems.
Eagle Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/10/2014Challenging course that's still playable
First timers to this course, had a foursome with handicaps from 14 to 25+. All had a good time and were challenged accordingly without the course being too brutal. Pot bunkers and undulating greens add a lot of character to the course.
Jefferson Country Club
Played On 03/30/2014Neat, faily open layout, worth playing for the money
Older, fairly open 9 hole layout. Greens are unique. Has split tee boxes so the tee shot changes from front to "back". Dog legs on almost every hole but the par 3s. Bending fairways and split tee boxes keep things interesting. Would play it again for the money. Condition was average or better. Much better than I expected.
The Country Club at Deer Run
Played On 03/15/2014Slow play, but fun course, great lunch deal
This course was extremely busy the day we played. We waited on every tee, every shot. The round was just over 5 hours. We booked the 18 holes with lunch and a beer. For the price, it was a great deal, the sandwiches were great. Course is in pretty good shape considering how many rounds it gets. However, it is tight, tree and house lined, and has tee boxes almost on top of some greens. Not a course for beginners, high handicappers, or anyone currently spraying the golf ball.
Victoria Hills Golf Club
Played On 03/14/2014This course is tougher than it looks
Lots of holes on this course seem wide open, with big greens, and lots of landing areas. However, it's much tougher than it looks. The hilly fairways leave you with lots of odd angle lies, fairway bunkers will add a stroke to a hole if you get into them, and lots of the greens are vaulted and/or have false fronts. Very enjoyable round without being too brutal.
Alaqua Country Club
Played On 04/21/2013Great layout, slow pace and construction that I didn't know about
I'm a huge fan of this course layout. Lots of water without being too penal, lots of wildlife, greens and fairways all in good shape. Only detractors were the pace of play, we waited on every shot, tee to green, and the range and 1st holes were closed due to construction, I wish this had been on their site so I wouldn't have arrived so early.
Wildwood Country Club
Played On 02/17/2013Used to be much nicer
This course has a nice layout that I used to enjoy playing. The new management has really let it go. Dead tee boxes and greens, washed out sand traps, etc...
St. James Bay Golf Club
Played On 02/10/2013A hidden gem
This course may be a drive from most of the area, but is always in perfect condition, and is a beautiful and challenging layout. Lots of scenery and nature to see.
Twin Rivers Golf Club
Played On 1/20/2013Would be super nice if maintained and sped up
Pace of play was atrocious, 2.5+ on the front nine, almost quit after that. Bunkers are all unraked, some missing rakes. Greens had lots of unfixed ball marks. Seems most playing could care less about course condition or pace of play. Course staff needs to step up and assert some authority.
Seminole Legacy Golf Club
Played On 12/2/2012Always in top condition
Not too many hazards and big fairways, a true bomb and gouge golf course. Always in top condition, and great deals can be had at times on Golf Now.
SouthWood Golf Club
Played On 10/29/2012Great course
Course is always in incredible shape. Has a few memorable holes. Huge swings in price depending on how you book or who you talk to $32-75 I've seen. Definitely worth up to $45, not sure about $60+
The Golf Club at Summerbrooke
Played On 10/21/2012Great layout, terrible condition
I try this course about once a year because the layout of the back 9 is so different for this area, but once again, I've been let down by the poor conditions. Hardpan in fairways, sand on parts of the green. If this was cared for like Seminole or Southwood it would be a regional draw.
DeBary Golf & Country Club
Played On 3/15/1981Deceptively Challenging
The design elements that make this course difficult are easy to miss at first. The bunkers are deep but always in the right places to catch your ball. The fairways are narrow and landing areas are important. Course was in great shape, staff was super courteous.
