Steamboat Golf Club
Played On 10/20/2023Poor late season greens
I don’t think they’ve cut the greens since aerating and top dressing. Almost unputtable, very unpleasant.
Also, green fees are way too high for quality of course - should be $20 for 9holes max, no comparison to Haymaker.
Steamboat Golf Club
Played On 10/02/2022Way overpriced
This used to be a nice little 9 hole round, now they want $38 for 9 holes, incredibly overpriced. The pro shop guy thinks they’re in haymaker’s league- more than a bit funny. Course is worth $20 for 9 holes at most.
Ranch Golf Course at Pole Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/04/2022Beautiful views as usual, great layout, greens slow
Greens bumpy and slow- I expect more from pole creek

Played On 10/08/2021Old Hickory Country Club
Played On 07/18/2021Great place
Very interesting challenging layout, hilly, fairways, Tees and greens in good shape- very enjoyable, not crowded, beautiful day and very attentive cart girl.
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks
Played On 09/02/2020Great layout, greens poor
Greens bumpy and slow, bunkers overgrown and lacking sand, very surprised at conditions for a very expensive course.
Executive at Mick Riley Golf Course
Played On 07/31/2018Nice Layout, Slow Greens, No Drinking Water
Nice layout for an old 9 hole muni.
Fairways and tees in pretty good shape.
Greens very slow- slowest I've played this year.
Lots of trees hang over the fairways- they need some pruning, looks like pruning is about 10 years overdue.
Also, cannot believe with the hot, hot weather in SLC, there was no drinking water or coolers on this course.
Grand Elk Golf Course
Played On 07/09/2018dry, hardpan and brown
Unfortunately watering restrictions have turned Grand Elk into a brown, hard unpleasing course.
-fairways and tees are >50% hard and brown.
-greens are still OK, but not soft and not holding shots.
-watch out for daily afternoon winds that howl.
-with all the wind, mounds, slopes and tall grass lining every hole, balls bound into the tall grass never to be found way too often.
This is the first time I've ever thought about asking for my money back.
Wait to play here until the area gets a lot of rain or they cut greens fees 50%.
Its too bad because its a nice links style course (not a tree on the whole 18) and not crowded, but now is not fun.
Rapid City Elks Golf Course
Played On 06/09/2017Nice small town course
Front 9 is nice layout, lots of room, wide fairways, tricky par 3s. #8 is a world class hole- reachable par 5 but not worth the risk as green area is very tight with water.
First 4-5 holes on back 9 routes thru houses and are pretty mundane. Final 4 are top notch tough holes.
Greens break more than you think, course needs more yardage markers
Todd Creek Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2016What's with the greens?
Typical links type layout in the prairie east of Denver.
only a few memorable holes.
slow play 2 hr.s 40 minutes for front nine- gave up playing the back 9 and just played the front 9 again as we were going to run of of light.
ISSUE is really the greens- hard, hard, hard, not much grass growing, any decent approach bounces over the back. I started trying to hit short and balls still bounce like you're on cement. many dead spots- some kind of disease on these greens.
Have they not aerated in years? turned irrigation off a month ago?? what is the story??
tees and fairways still in great shape so they're getting water.
Awesome practice facility- range, chipping/pitching greens!
Southglenn Country Club
Played On 07/10/2016very nice par 3 course
some good longer par 3 holes, two are over 200 yards.
plays longer as 4 holes are pretty uphill
smallest greens are in good shape, putt true, but are hard, they don't really hold approach shots well.
plays fast, uncrowded
enjoyable, will play there again
Grand Lake Golf Course
Played On 07/03/2016Great Experience
Yes, its a muni course and greens are slow, but it is a very nice layout (back 9 in particular) with 3 of the most memorable holes around (10, 11, and 18). 8 and 9 are the best holes on the front.
Course has the most uphill approaches to greens I've seen in a long time and some drainage problems (#9 fairway).
Long grass areas are brutal- keep it in the fairway, hit 3 woods off the tee, course is not long and it won't hurt you.
Greens have a lot of space around them so missing them on your approach allows for recovery chips and pars.
I don't miss the trees due to pine beetle.
A nice touch is the scorecard with a short description and advice for every hole.
Very enjoyable place- will be back.
Golf Granby Ranch
Played On 07/02/2016Excellent, but where is everyone?
Right, I'm questioning why there were only about 4 groups out on the whole course on 4th of July weekend afternoon- with the putting green being torn out and no visible sign of replacement and nothing being done for years about building a real clubhouse- is this place financially on the rocks? I hope not, since it is a real gem.
As others have said- great conditions (greens were a bit slow, but true) great views, great layout (back 9 especially). Grass on tees and fairways were a bit long. Mowing around greens was strange- seemed like they purposefully left a longer 10 ft strip right next to greens.
Driving range pricing is a bit strange- $10 for an hour per person- can't I get 25 warm-up balls for $4-$5?.
But, really enjoyed having such a great course to ourselves for a cheap Golf Now rate......go enjoy this place and give them some business.
Emerald Greens Golf Club
Played On 11/06/2014not worth it
don't bother unless you're 90 years old and hit the ball barely out of your shadow. slowest pace of play ever, all twosomes who don't pair up or let you play through. extremely boring course, an exercise in frustration waiting on tees longer than playing the holes. I walked in after 5 holes I was so frustrated with this place.
Twin Peaks Golf Course
Played On 07/17/2014Good Shape, Average Course
pretty boring, straight ahead course without much rough or much trouble. good for medium to high handicapper.
nice practice range and putting green.
not crowded, good pace of play
all greens have a kind of gully running around them that collects balls and is hard to chip out of- strange design.
