Hunters Ridge Golf Course
Played On 09/01/2023Great layout, great condition
First time playing here. Was first off at 7:30am, so things were a little wet the first couple holes. Truly beautiful course, challenging greens. Pretty open and forgiving off the tee. Wish I lived closer so I could play it more often, but would definitely drive the 40 miles to play it again.

Played On 05/20/2021Great course
First time playing here and I will definitely return. The gentleman in the pro shop was very friendly and gave me some tips that helped. Early tee time so the pace was perfect. Course is in very good condition. Tee boxes may have been the worst part, but they are not bad at all. The greens are firm but not unfair. They were undulating and quick, and they rolled true. Playing it a couple more times would be nice because a couple false fronts got me. I used almost every club in the bag, with a couple fairway woods and long irons off the tee. I highly recommend this course!
Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
Played On 04/10/2021Pretty good
Fun course, interesting layout. Worst parts about it were the bridges and cart paths. Greens were tough and in pretty good condition for the most part. Not a long course - driver isn’t necessary for many of the holes. Overall it was a nice round.

I’ve heard for a while that it’s a nice course, but never played it until today. Played the back 9 before a league, so no one was in front of me. Fun layout and beautiful scenery, big and tough greens. It’s the type of course that I’d like to play over and over for years to come.

Course was in very good condition. Only a couple burnt out areas throughout the whole course, and those areas were barely in play. Greens rolled true and were soft enough to park some approach shots. For a Hot Deal, hard to pass up. Fun layout. Finished in 4 hours in a threesome and with a couple groups ahead of us.

Played On 07/08/2020Great back 9
Played the back 9 this morning. Course is in very good condition. Fantastic greens and fairways. Greens aren’t too fast like many courses right now. They’re putting a lot of work into the course and it shows. Interesting layouts which makes for thoughtful tee shots. Some tough approach shots with many greenside bunkers. Will be back again. Friendly staff.

I’ve played this course many times. It’s not in the worst shape I’ve seen it. Many dry and hard fairways, rough, and greens. Weather has been incredibly dry, and I know they are watering the course, but it’s tough to get anything to stick on or around the greens. I like the layout, and I don’t mind playing a course that’s a bit beat up for the right price. Just needs some TLC. Foursomes were stacked up but still finished in a little under 4 hours.
Indian Springs Metropark Golf Course
Played On 06/27/2020Great course, a bit long to walk
Walked 18 a couple weeks ago. I will definitely not be walking the whole thing again - much too hot in the summer heat for me. Walking 9 would have been perfect. Course is in very good condition, as the metro park courses normally are. Well-maintained greens and tee boxes, too. I’ll be back. Free pull cart was nice.

Lakes and Meadows today. Lakes was very wet - some flooded small patches of fairway. Not horrible, but worth mentioning. Greens were nice besides some dead patches on a couple holes - they rolled true and were not slow. I’ve seen the course in better condition than today, but I’ve also heard from friends that a couple years ago the course was looking pretty rough. Meadows was a bit drier. Enjoyable and challenging 18 holes. Beautiful views. Pace was good. Finished in just about 4 hours. Will be back.

Front 9 is pretty tricky. Some doglegs and tough shots. Back 9 is classic links. They’ve always taken very good care of this course, and this time was no different. Fantastic fairways and (not easy) greens. I’m excited to play here more this summer. Finding good deals on golfnow make Brentwood a can’t-miss. I’ve been playing here every so often for 5-6 years, and I just love it. Especially the back 9 when it really opens up, it’s beautiful!

I paid $15 for 18 and a cart..hard to beat that. It rained a lot the day before, and off and on the day of, but I had a great time playing Lakes and Meadows. Lakes had some long holes with water on most of them. A few great elevated tee shots over water. Very pretty views. First time playing Meadows, and I loved it. A lot of fun hole designs that require some thought before making shots. A few fairways had flooded sections, but considering the circumstances, it wasn’t bad at all. Can’t wait to play it this summer when it’s dry. It’s normally $45+, and I think that’s pretty outrageous, but I’ll pay $20--30 to play this course any day of the week. They take pretty darn good care of it, but there are greens with dead/no grass on the outskirts, and if you’re not very careful some of those cart paths are incredibly bumpy. Otherwise, the greens are great. Some of the other views talk about rude staff, but a young man helped me check in, and he was plenty friendly and courteous. When I finished, a staff member let me know I can take the cart to my car and wished me a good day. This is only my second time playing this course but it’s probably one of my favorites. There’s also no longer a fee to enter Camp Dearborn to play golf, so that’s a bonus.

Hard to beat $10 to walk 9 that will take you about 80-90 minutes maximum. Course is in okay condition. Tee boxes never seem to be cut when I play here. Easy greens. Worth a try if you have a limited time and want to hit a lot of 8/9 irons and wedges.

Played On 09/26/2017Great round
I've played this course a handful of times, and it's always a lot of fun. The course was probably in the best condition I've seen it in. Very well cut and green fairways. Bunkers were in good shape, too. The greens were recently aerated, but they weren't too bad and putts still rolled true for the most part. First few holes are very manageable and can give you some birdie butts. The pace of play was kind of slow, but I could have finished 18 if I really wanted to. Teed off at 5:30PM and finished 9 by about 7-7:15PM. Hoping to make it out again once or twice before the end of the season. Love playing this course.

First impression: no one in the pro shop. Staff person was schmoozing with people on their back patio. Not a friendly man, and not professional. Apparently didn't know how GolfNow worked. It was quite the ordeal explaining that my tee time was for 9 holes, walking, and yes, believe it or not, only $6. The course itself was fine, nothing to write home about. Very easy. If you can hit the ball somewhat straight, you should have no problem scoring well. It was in good shape; doesn't look like it gets much action. Finished 9 holes in the evening in just over an hour. Probably won't play again, but for $6 it's a good way to practice your tee shot accuracy and short game.
Beech Woods Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2017Good value
Definitely worth checking out for a hot deal. Nice layout and a fun, quick 9 holes. Downpoured yesterday, so no carts, but it was very nice walking and the course held up very well. Some pretty narrow fairways, and a couple tough approach shots, but most greens are huge and easy to hit. Strategic, short course
Hilltop Golf Course
Played On 08/30/2017Underwhelming
Pace of play was atrocious. Weekday, late morning tee time. 4 hours in, I had to skip the last 2 holes to get to work on time. Ranger was not seen after leaving for the first tee. Course itself was alright, some nice holes, maintained pretty well. Elevated tee shots are fun, and there are many here. Might play here again if the price is right (<$20 hot deal), hopefully they figure out their pace of play issues. Guy I ended up joining up with around the 10th-11th hole said this is the norm: rack em and stack em.
Downing Farms Golf Course
Played On 08/28/2017Old reliable
Cheap, quick, and fun round. Scenery and upkeep isn't going to blow you away, but there's plenty of good things about this course. Interesting layouts, tough greens, and did I mention its cheap and a 2-2.5 hour round?
Downing Farms Golf Course
Played On 05/17/2017Not the worst
Not the worst course I've played, but it's kind of a dump and nothing to write home about. Pretty easy to hit most fairways and reach the greens in regulation. Good luck once you're on the green or if you find a "bunker". Really strangely difficult and sloping greens, which could have used a lot of attention. Leaves and debris from surrounding trees on every green. With all that being said, if you're in the mood for a fairly easy or cheap round, and none of your preferred courses have a tee time, this might be a course to think about.
Thanks for the 2-star review djfarmer. Your feedback about course conditions are helpful in guiding our improvement process and we are making progress. The bunker project to move 30% of our bunkers from sand to grass is in regrow mode. We'll keep trying to get better for you. Thanks for playing and we hope you return soon.

This is a perfect "old reliable" course. Nothing flashy or out of the ordinary, but it's always enjoyable. A lot of wide open fairways and big greens. Very pretty scenery in the Fall. Plenty of fun holes. Great value! Friendly staff and friendly regulars make this a wonderful place to get away from the rat race and have a relaxing round.
East at Warren Valley Golf Course
Played On 04/23/2017Love the layout
I played a few days after a big rainfall.. The course was still pretty wet so it wasn't in its best form. The fairways and tee boxes were not able to be cut, which was understandable. I can't wait to play this course mid-summer, when it's all dried out. Not too challenging of a layout, but it still requires some good shot-making. Small greens rolled true. All in all, a very good experience. Will definitely be back! Employees were friendly and knowledgeable.
djfarmer, thank you for your kind words! The team has worked very hard to get where we are, and we appreciate golfers like you taking notice. We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Hunters Ridge Golf Course
