Mystic Oak Golf Course
Played On 10/08/2016Disappointed
I have played this course 3 times in the last 2 years and I know why I have a hard time returning for another round. I can't recall a course in this poor condition besides Riverside in Fenton..yes I'm name dropping bc it's pathetic as well. But at least Riverside has an excuse, it's right by a huge river that floods a dozen times a year.
Mystic Oaks is a joke. I hate to say that because the course seems to have a bit of potential but as far as management goes right now, doesn't look like anyone knows what their doing or they just don't care.
As you get your round underway, the first thing you realize is that the tee boxes are hard as a rock. You will break a few tees just trying to get the ball teed up. Once you're out of the tee box, it's hard to determine where the fairway ends and the rough begins at times. The bunkers seem to have been poured with some quickcrete and left to dry. And if they aren't rock hard then they are filled with puddles. And once you make it thru all that, you come to a burnt up green with tons of obstacles in your way. Now I don't know about any of you but when you are trying to putt and in between your ball and the hole is an obstacle other than slope or break...come on!
Those greens are inexcusable and arent worth the entire round. Simple, when you can't hardly putt because the greens are so bad you are missing a ton of your round. Clover patches, mold, huge divers from lawnmower turning his machine on the green, I mean it's unbelievably bad. It makes you angry they let this course go like this. Big let down.
Other than having a golf day with a couple buddies, we all were pretty let down and felt almost like the money spent wasn't worth it again.
Thanks mystic oaks, word will get around.
