Tour 18 Houston
Played On 10/18/2017Great course, below average staff
It was a perfect day for golf, which is fortunate because the experience wasn't as great. While the course was mostly in near perfect conditions, on hole 2, the greenside sprinklers turned on just as we were teeing off. Fortunately, they had turned off by the time we got to the green. On hole 3, we didn't have such luck. The sprinklers turned on and remained on throughout our play on the hole. One of the golfers in the group had to putt through a giant puddle on the green. After that hole, though, we had no issues with sprinklers.
The marshall is another reason I dock a star from this review. We finished the front 9 in about 2 hours and 10 minutes. We stopped to use the facilities and grab a hot dog to-go, and made our way to the 10th. Apparently, the group behind us did not stop at the turn and made their way to the 10th as well and waited for us to tee off. The marshall was coming by and saw this and assumed that we were not playing quickly enough and told us to speed it up. So we got through the hole quicker than we would've liked. A couple holes later, he comes back around and tells us that people are calling into the pro shop complaining about the pace of play. At this point, the group behind us is no longer right on our tail. We ended up finishing our round in 4 hours and 10 minutes, which is much quicker than the 4 hours and 35 minutes suggested on the scorecard. My advice - if this guy tries to speed up your game, take the time to consult the scorecard to figure out if you are right on track or if you're running behind.
Cypress Lakes Golf Club

Being the first of March, the course was in very good shape. There weren't very many people on the course so we (twosome) got through the round in about 3 and a half hours.

First off, I give 5 stars for Value For The Money because I got a deal on GolfNow and then had a promo code on top of that.
The course was in good condition and was pretty challenging. Most of the challenge came from narrow fairways, but well placed bunkers had me using my sand wedge more often than I would want.
I gave Pace of Play a poor score because the foursome in front of me were all pretty bad golfers. Someone was entertaining clients - the marshall tried asking if we could play through but the group was unwilling to do so.
Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
Played On 09/30/2015Nice, challenging course
The course poses some nice challenges with the placement of bunkers and hazards requiring you to lay up.
Unfortunately, pace of play ruined the round somewhat. I had a tee time for 11:57, but for some reason, the starter called my name about 30 minutes before. Four holes later, we arrive at the tee box and are waiting behind two other groups. For the rest of the round, we were consistently on the heels of the group in front of us and having to wait 5-10 minutes to tee off.
The greens were recently sanded, so they were pretty fast. The fringe is rather thick and was difficult to putt out of. The fast greens and the thick fringe really made it impossible to putt from the fringe.
The bunkers were in decent shape but a lot of the surfaces were pretty solid. In fact, one of the guys that I was teamed up putted out of the greenside bunkers a couple times.
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club
Played On 09/21/2015Fun course
The course was in pretty good shape although some of the greens had spots that were under repair. The fairway bunkers were also not in good shape due to heavy storms about 10 days prior. Overall, there is nice slope to the course and hazards placed along the fairway designed to make you either gamble or lay up. I think the greenside bunkers are well placed.
I do wish there were pictures of the holes either on the scorecard or as you approach the tee box. We had to rely on the cart GPS to tell us where some of the hidden hazards were. For the doglegs, you just have to hit it down the middle of the fairway and then figure out what hazards present themselves closer to the hole.
And while I indicate that pace of play was excellent, it should be noted that there was almost no one else on the course.
Faith Bridge Ranch Golf Club
Played On 05/08/2015A decent value
Let me first start off by saying that I found a deal online which is why I rated the Value for the Money at 5 stars. I would not pay full price for this course. The course isn't any special, but a nice place to play if you are a beginner-to-intermediate golfer looking to just get out and play a round of golf on the cheaper end. The fairways and greens are not anything you would expect to see on a good golf course, but they weren't so poor that it ruined my appetite. The only thing that did were the bunkers - they are pits of dirt. But, I would play again...as long as I got another deal online.
On another note, their BBQ Pork sandwiches are really good.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize about the pace of play but we are happy to hear you enjoyed our course conditions!
