Grand Cypress Golf Club - Links Course
Played On 10/27/2017A little slow
The turn was a little slow to get going.
We did finish in 4.5hrs mind you. Considering the area and the number of casual golfers that visit we were surprised that we got finished in less then 5 hrs. This was our 6th round of the week in the area and our slowest but the course was enjoyable and the staff did what they could to keep it going.
I personally found the course challenging with no real visual clues as to where to place the shot off the tee.
On 7 it would be nice to see some red stakes in front of the water hazard because it is difficult to see.
Shot my best round of the week so that gives this review a little bias. Friend had a great time and we enjoyed the conditions and the fact we got a decent rate on GolfNow.
Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 10/26/2017Slow due to poor shotgun plan
We were told when we arrived that there would be a shotgun start in front of us but staggered by a few holes. This was not the case. After several calls for a Marshall to come out we were told they straightened it out.
They moved us to the Panther for the second nine and everything was great after that.
The kitchen was slow. The course seemed understaffed that day.
Enjoyed the range and the second nine on the Panther.
I will recommend to others but warn them to call ahead to ensure that it won't be busy.
The other issue was the shotgun group had many carts cruising around the course with non golfers using no edicate
Hunter's Creek Golf Club
Played On 10/25/2017Potential
The course has amazing potential. The greens were phenomenal.
We were told that the last owners had neglected the course.
This was apparent in the bunkers. We played from them if we had a playable lie. The course was visually easy to pick lines for driving the ball.
It will be nice to see if the new group can get the bunkers going and this will be on my replay list for my next visit to Central Florida.
