Arrogant staff - dishonest offer

There is no friendly welcome at this course. Today I was told they shouldn't really check us in. When I asked why he said we were too early and they didn't allow carts out more than 45 minutes before the tee time. There were probably 30 carts outside AND we were exactly 45 minutes before our tee time. Pure arrogance!

On top of that two par 5's were shortened to 100 yard par 3's. The tempory tee box looked like they had been used for some time without any adjustment. Most courses put a notice on Golfnow when there is unusual situations like airation. Not Saddlebrook Ranch., they didn't even mention it at checkin.

We like the course but it is a last resort choice.

Nice Course

It is a nice course albeit a little flat. Wide open and forgiving for hitters who tend to miss the fairway. It can get windy but that helps keeps the course cooler than in town. I like playing it.

While the course is worth playing the pro-shop does not seem to like Golf Now players or at least I hope that is the situation and they don't treat members the same way. Indifferent is how I would characterize their attitude although others have called it rude.

Very SLOW pace of play

In 50+ years of playing golf I can't say I have played a round of golf I didn't enjoy. Well, there is a first time for everything.

When we were due to tee off there was not enough carts and we had wait. Once on the course the pace of play was terrible. From the time we were supposed to tee off too the time we finished was right at FIVE hours and in the dark. Like many players I find it hard to get into a rhythm with so much starting and stopping.

What makes it so irritating is that we did not see a single member of the staff on the course trying to deal with the pace. They just get every cart they have out on the course and leave the golfers to suffer.

They course has an interesting layout although the greens are overly hard.

I will not return.
