The Norman Course has fully recovered from the "green killing" last year. Course was in fantastic shape...challenging but fair.

One of my favorite courses in La Quinta...tough and usually in good shape. Staff is friendly and keeps things moving. 5 sets of tees...gold were great for me as a 6 index, as well as others of different skill levels. Need to make shots to score well. Saw mountain goats and red tail hawks on back nine. Great views of mountains.

As always, this is a real test for even the best golfers. The weather was cloudy and there was some breeze late in the round. Facility has been rumored to be up for sale and in poor condition. I was informed by the staff, that it did sell in 2013/14 and owner has made investments in upgrading facility and building lodging. It was in excellent shape. The only criticism is that they need to do something with the cart paths. Rutted trails when there is a trail, sometimes difficult to figure out where you are supposed to go.

Played here four times and keep forgetting that you need to give this course it's due respect. Wind kicked up in afternoon, making the back tough. Lots of weddings in the summer so a lot of nongolfers made it slow. Course was in decent shape during the summer and in a drought. Some dirt spots outside of normal landing areas but if you can play decently you will not encounter. Greens were good, rolled true. For $45 it's a great value..Solvang is a great weekend retreat.

Not a bad layout. A little flat and could use some mounding, but overall a great value for $25. Would definitely play there again.
