Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 04/13/2017Wonderful Layout, Recommend Highly & Worth the Drive
After golfing for 6 days straight, my buddy and I agreed that this course and the Grand Cypress New Course were the top two. That's pretty high praise because we also golfed Bay Hill.
The course layout is wonderful with lots of elevation changes. Unlike some of the other courses I have rated, the course if fairly tough, but very fair. What you see is what you get. Some beautiful elevated tees with great views hitting down onto a general fairway. We will definitely be back to golf this course. Last bit of advice: On #17 Par 5, you have to hit your second shot well right and down close to the water to clear the devilish large tree perch right in the middle of the fairway. There's a bunker in front of the water worst case if you hit it too close, you'll have a 85 yard fairway bunker shot over water, but better than being blocked out! Enjoy the course.
Pilgrim's Run Golf Club
Played On 08/09/2014Great course, like a private country club setting
Pilgrim's Run is a gem. The club house is nice, the range great and the very large putting green nice. We were one of the few players on the course and it has a country club feeling. You hardly ever see the other golfers even on a crowded day because the holes are tree lined. I recommend this gem to anyone, but it is a bit challenging, but fair and fun.
