Move along to better options

Played here four years ago, and really enjoyed the layout and conditions. Returned this week, and was saddened to see how the mighty has fallen. I understand that there's a drought, but greens fees have greatly increased while conditions have substantially deteriorated. Even though the people are friendly, I can't recommend playing here until they make significant improvements to the grass. On the positive side, the flowers look pretty.

solid bargain in Lehigh Acres

Today was 2nd round here in last ten days. Mirror Lakes offers good challenge for all skill levels with a broad selection of tees, tipping out at 7100 yards. Manageable par fours with challenging par threes and fives. Houses don't encroach on the course (mostly). Just enough water to keep you on your toes. Course seems to be bouncing back nicely after hurricane. Yes there are many blown down/leaning over trees, and yes the Bermuda rough is low, and yes there's some poa in the greens, but overall very solid for the price. Definitely consider playing it for $50, jump at the chance for less than that. I'll be back, for sure.

Thank you for a most informative review of Mirror Lakes G. C. My friend and I have been considering playing here but had heard the greens were not of acceptable standard for price. Your review has allowed us to decide to make the trip to MLGC.

very nice people running value priced course

Gilbertsville has three 9s, which presents nice variety. A little rough around the edges: cart paths; carts. Those don't matter to how the course plays though. Tees are flat and covered with grass, fairways are well kept with very little clover, rough is even and lush though with more dandelions than they'd want, and the bunkers have the red clay indigenous to the area. The strength of Gville is the greens: manicured; smooth; subtly contoured; receptive.
The people running the place are also terrific: accommodating; helpful; really make you feel welcome.
In truth there are more challenging courses in the immediate area, but Gville is well positioned as a nice place to play at a reasonable price, making it a great spot for beginners as well as for your pack of friends looking for a good time at a good price.
