Great Value Course

The new greens are great, and the fairways are in good condition. Most of the tee boxes were good, with just a couple not so good.

Overall this course is awesome for the money. It’s a somewhat basic layout, but for the price you cannot beat it. Early Friday morning pace of play was no problem, but I can see it getting backed up on the weekends and later in the day. Book early in the AM if you can.

Extremely disappointing

I’ve been to Egwani a handful of times, but this was definitely my last. The driving range was only open for hitting off of turf mats. We then had to wait 10 minutes for a cart, despite having a tee time. For early April, the course is in horrible shape. Greens are rough, fairways are spotty and dormant, and tee boxes are average. It took us 3 hours to play the front 9, and 5 hours to play an entire 18. The staff was extremely disrespectful when we mentioned pace of play. For less money, you can go play River Island or Avalon; both of which are a much better value and in better shape.

I appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review, and I'm happy to follow up on some of the issues you had here at our course while playing Saturday afternoon.
First, the driving range is currently mats only because the grass is still dormant coming out of the winter season. Bermuda grass doesn't start to grow until the beginning of May.
Second, if you had to wait for a golf cart that's because we had an outing finishing up from the morning. It was also a sunny, 80-degree day in the first week of April, which means we saw quite a bit of traffic this past Saturday. We had 210 golfers altogether.
I agree with you on pace of play, 5 hours for 18 is certainly slower than ideal. But due to the aforementioned flood we were cart path only this past weekend, and that can sometimes slow pace of play considerably - especially with more than 200 golfers on the course. Our weekend rounds usually run between 4:10 and 4:20.

Regarding course conditions, I'd argue that we're in excellent shape considering the 2-week shutdown in the beginning of March due to a 25-year flood. The greens are arguably in the best shape they've ever been, and that's communicated to us nearly every day by our golfers.
As for the staff, you were asked not to play as a group of six from the start. During the round you were reminded again. Finally, the staff took action and shut your carts down - at which point your group decided to play the remaining holes with the carts in reverse. In cleaning your carts after the round, we also found several bottles of liquor and an 18-pack of Natural Light - neither of which are sold at our facility.

You might not have liked what my staff had to say, and that is unfortunate. But I'd say what's incredibly disrespectful is smuggling large quantities of alcohol onto the course and disregarding repeated requests from staff members.
I apologize if your experience at Egwani Farms didn't meet your expectations, but we have to maintain certain standards to protect the interests of our other golfers. I hope you find what you're looking for at another golf course.

This was my first time out to Ruggles Ferry. The layout of the course is nothing too special, handful of par 5's that aren't too long, handful of par 3's that are very short, and mostly par 4's between 350-420 yards. The course was in very nice condition. Fairways were a little brown, but still full to play off of, not many bare spots. Greens were in excellent shape. Tee boxes were horrible, but appeared to have been recently aerated, so hopefully they turn around. We were stuck behind two foursomes who would not let us play through which was frustrating, so we actually skipped 2 holes to jump them and then didn't play behind anyone for the rest of the round. No problems with the staff. Paid $39 for a Sunday morning tee time, so definitely a pretty good course for the money you pay. Would recommend.

Course condition was less than impressive (I played 3/11/17), even for the time of year. Roughs and fairways were very patchy and difficult to play out of, greens were bumpy with some bare spots. Overall, the course is extremely short (I only hit 1 driver) which doesn't allow for the use of many clubs. It was fairly cheap, so you get what you pay for. Also, there are foot golf holes covering the entire course in the middle of fairways, tee boxes, etc. which made the layout of the course feel very scattered and all over the place. I would recommend the course for people who don't play much and are just looking to have fun. I didn't dislike the round, but I probably won't play again.

This was my second time playing this course, I was very pleased. For this time of year, these were some of the best fairways (public) that I have played. Greens and tees were average, but fairways were very good. If you are going to walk this course, walk the BACK 9. The front 9 is a very difficult walk, especially between holes. The back is a hilly walk, but not nearly as long between holes. Course layout is pretty good, but nothing overly unique. Also has a great driving range, with all grass hitting area. Staff was happy to recommend other nearby courses (I just moved here).

You're going to get what you pay for here. Course is short, so you don't get to play many irons other than an 8 or a 9. Tees and greens were in average shape, some better than others. Fairways were pretty good for this time of year. Course layout was nothing special, and it was pretty easy to walk. Pretty decent driving range, but they only have mats, no grass. Quick, pretty easy, and cheap play if that is what you are looking for.

I was pleased with this course for this time of year. Greens were pretty quick. Fairways were just turning green, but overall in pretty good condition. It was a great course for walking if you are up for it. I have walked 9 and 18 here and have enjoyed it both times. It was a really nice day, so the course was packed and pace of play was a little slow for me, but still wasn't the worst pace I've played.
