West Pines Golf Club

A foursome lagged behind the pace by a couple of holes, spending a lot of time on each green and staying green-side in their carts after each hole,. Our shots came close once when they stayed by a hole after leaving the green, and out of sight from the fairway, They complained to the rangers who told our group to play slower for safety, rather than speed up the pace of that foursome. They lagged for the rest of the round, stacking up all the groups behind them, making a nice day a very poor golfing experience.
Heritage Golf Links - Legacy Nine
Played On 07/21/2014Monday special
The course is a good value on any day, but the Monday special rate makes it a great deal. Having the extra 9 holes (27 hole course) provides the option of avoiding slow players by selecting which back 9 you wish to play. The greens are challenging with all the ridges and there are many long holes, so it is best for the above average golfer.
Wolf Creek Golf Course
Played On 8/10/2013Get your driver ready!
This is a great course to test out your driver and fairway woods, with the long par 5s. It also has some fun par3s and challenges around each of the well-maintained greens. The course marshals handled the pace of play quite well for a great weather, busy day.
Chateau Elan Golf Club - Chateau Course
Played On 12/27/2012Beautiful course, well laid out holes, each with a different challenge leading to fast greens.
Chateau Elan is a bit of California in North Georgia, with the vineyards, holiday resort and beautiful houses tucked along the Chateau course. The course layout is in a links style with plenty of room for each hole and optimal use of the terrain and water. We enjoyed the wide open fairways, high quality sand that we occasionally found, and the greens that made you want to hit your approach shot to the right level. It is a great place for a day of golf, even at the end of December.
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/8/2012Crystal Lake is a real pleasure to play, easy to get to and high value for the fee.
We enjoyed the experience, all the way from warming up on the range right by the pro shop though our post-round lunch in the club house. The friendly starter provide helpful tips at the first tee. We flew through the 18 holes, with a different challenge facing us at each tee, including well-placed bunkers with very playable sand and undulating greens well protected by those bunkers. The lake and creeks frame the course nicely, but their location doesn't get in the way of the game. It was a 40 minute drive from town, and well worth the value to play such a good course.
Smoke Rise Country Club
Played On 11/10/2012Smoke Rise is a beautiful, hilly, challenging course with PGA-style greens in pristine shape.
Smoke Rise gives you a member's-only experience on a course that is as challenging as East Lake, but perhaps even prettier and more hilly. The new greens are wonderful, even though a downhill putt could just keep on going if you miss it. It definitely rewards accuracy with the driver, and has a number of doglegs that require two good long hits to make the green in regulation. It's a great golf venue for anyone who enjoys the game.
