I love Starr Pass a gem of Southwest Tucson. Wonderful course layout, takes advantage of natural landscape, and had freshly reseeded winter rye.

It was very disappointing to experience the course. The fairways were dry, no grass, some kind of paint in it, minimal grass around the greens, greens were bumpy. Worse I’ve seen it ever.

I love this course, this time they had half of the tee boxes under repair or seeding, and several parts of the course that were not in top shape. I think the boxes being closed and affecting in some of the holes the distance significantly lessened the experience and should be notified as an alert to the Golf Now customers who are looking to make a reservation.

Starr Pass doesn't disappoint. One of my favorite local courses, well maintained, excellent amenities, friendly staff. The beverage carts were moving at great speed :-)
The only negative was that it was car path only given the recent over-seeding with winter rye grass. There was a lot of wildlife, we say deer and a bobcat.

I belong to another club and had not play here in a couple of years. The course is in great shape now., it's a very good deal, fairways, greens, bunkers, boxes all in top shape

I have played 49ers before when it was in great shape, then they let it go to waste until it was bought and repaired. I played last fall and it was very nice.
This time the greens were terrible, the fairways were really bad, even the tee boxes were in bad shape.
This course has really nice potential if they took care of it.

What started like a potential disappointment, turned out to be a great experience. Two groups with the same last name were scheduled back to back, the staff called the other foursome contact and decided to cancel one of the tee times (mine). The staff were very gracious, were able to get us in later that morning, offered us a round of drinks in the course, offered us lunch after playing, and a complementary foursome for later this season. Most importantly, the course is in fantastic shape and the staff took care of us like celebrities! We saw lots of wildlife also...
El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course
Played On 05/31/2014Did not warn us of terrible shape due to aeration!
I have played the two courses at El Conquistador and have enjoyed them in the past. This time, they had aerated the greens and the overall condition of the course was a bad as I have ever seen this course or any others for that matter.
We got a good deal in GolfNow.com as we often do but did not learn about the condition of the course. I would have definitely not have picked that course if I had known the aeration had just happened, but it was not only aeration that was the issue, the course was muddy, appeared unfinished, not ready for play.

The course was in great shape, the design is really nice and is well kept. Nice restaurant and friendly staff.
