Chisel Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/07/2018I'm gonna need a longer drive
Got thru the first 3 holes just fine, then all heck broke loose on the 4th tee. Partner put drive into the woods on the right, seeing this i yanked my drive left almost but not quite carrying the water. we did this 3 more times, and it got worst as the round proceeded. But enough about me back to the course, It seems the place is on it;s last legs, hope I am wrong but one only has to gander at the traps to see something is in the air. On some of the longer par 4's and 5's it was hard to zero in off the tee because it was difficult to recognize where the fairways were. That being said I do think playing here helped my game and I intend to return soon,. after I go purchase another 2 dozen golf balls.
Frog Rock Country Club
Played On 05/05/2018not for the golf snob
Where else can you play on a weekend morning in your pajamas! I absolutely appreciate the role this course plays in the era of the country club golf for a day gig.I played on a recent weekend alone without a tee time, hardly any money, ripped bag, old clubs, stayed in my Converses, and a big smile. It would be easy to knock this course but I for one feel very fortunate that these kind of establishments still exist. Great for working on golf and tan.
Hanover Country Club
Played On 05/03/2018better Hanover or else
Course was in good shape. It's been awhile since we last played and it seemed much improved. A good variety of holes, long par 4''s, some shorter par 4's with ponds, creeks or doglegs to consider.Throw in a couple of good par 3's and 5's and soon you're playing a viable golf course. The day we played some of the white tees seemed a little forward then usual making the round a little less challenging, that's not a complaint just an observation.. Anticipating playing here again soon to see if conditions keep improving.
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
Played On 03/05/2018excellent!
First time that we played it and It will not be the last time either. Pretty special course that has a resort feel to it without the resort price. Don't even think about walking as the course seems to take up half of Delawares land mast. Thank goodness for good signage and smooth as silk cart paths. If you can get any kind of deal I believe this is a must play course.

Even though the course looked busy we got out on time and finished in 4 hrs; Seemed like everyone was keeping up with the group ahead of them making pace of play a non issue. As for the course, the layout is solid, the conditions were fine, except for maybe some traps, no big deal I just decided to avoid them along with huge green fees. Not a bad way to spend a nice Saturday afternoon in January, Looking forward to playing here in February, March, etc.

The course was in pretty good shape. thank goodness the bar was open, I stopped after nine as my hands were freezing and my gloves were basically useless. A bar patron who didn't know me gave me hand warmers for the back which I played after having a couple of cold ones.Ironically I did the hot deal from golf now! I guess it was worth it , I'm still thawing out. I'll be back soon but I don't know if playing golf will be included in the next visit. Thanks again.
Pitman Golf Course
Played On 12/07/2017I'm a sucker for a good bar with a decent golf course
Absolutely no leaf problem here! As a matter of fact, there were no leaves on the ground or on any of the trees. I can't quite figure out how they achieved this but I really appreciate not having to go trudging through leaves hoping to find my ball. The course was in great shape and for once not at all crowded. It's nice to play a course in less then 4 hrs. that doesn't beat your brains out. Not counting the 9th and 11th holes. I will hopefully return soon.
White Oaks Country Club
Played On 12/05/2017maybe the last great golf day for awhile
If you used your imagination a little, you could have thought you were standing on the first tee on a Myrtle Beach course on this fine December day. Even I know it's better driving 25 miles to a quality golf course then 550 miles to play one. It must cost this place a mint to clear the leaves off the fairways and greens. On the back nine I seen a tractor deep in the woods unloading leaves. On the 18th I seen a guy in some contraption just plowing piles of leaves deeper into the woods. I was waiting for him to smack into a hidden tree trunk and go head over heels and maybe land on the green a few hundred yards away. My hats off to these guys as I was woke to just how many leaves had to be moved to allow the us to play this stupid game. As for the course, it's a fun and always an interesting round and I will return very soon.
Twisted Dune Golf Club
Played On 11/28/2017Eat my dust
Can't really add anything to their own description of the course. It's everything that it is cracked up to be. Flat tee boxes, nice wide fairways, and really true greens. Each hole stands alone from the others which means you'll by driving a good distance from green to tee on a dirt or sandy trail which are wide enough for one cart for most of the time. This allows a twosome to yap about what just transpired on the previous hole before teeing up. It's a nice way to decompress from a rough hole if needed. It is also a chance for the other two people in the foursome to eat your dust all day if you play it right. In the end, it is like what an old Piney once said "You don't have to be a millionaire to live like one" I'll be back
Loch Nairn Golf Course
Played On 11/07/2017wet behind the ears and every other part of the body
Great day to get used to the up coming winter weather. It was absolutely pretty miserable out but we still had a lot of fun playing a quality golf course. Thank goodness the kid came out to us on the 15th hole and asked us to bring the carts in @ 4:30. We persevered thru the 16th and used the excuse that the cart needed to get returned and skipped the last 2 holes and headed right for the bar, knowing we will return when the monsoon season is over which should be next week.

I thought the course was in great shape. They cleared out a lot of underbrush lining some of the holes which gave them a much more open feel. We play here once or twice a year and this was the best experience of all the visits. Yea the layout at times can seem a little tight and the traps a tad wet but for the money this is a pretty good choice. The par 5's are fun, the 4's challenging and the 3's very playable (no need for a carry over anything). Pace was excellent on the course and on routes 76 and 422. I'll be back
The Links Golf Club
Played On 10/31/2017I hear the links calling me
Played after day of rain which made the course play soft ( in my case, long). If you can get any kind of deal at all I would recommend playing a round here. I'm a sucker for a layout that has the holes mostly situated by themselves, Check in was a breeze, the pace of play was outstanding and the conditions were better then I deserved for the amount money that I paid. Looking forward to playing it again soon. This may be my winter go to course since all the holes seem to be amply tree lined which hopefully will help block the wind. Just saying.
Beckett Golf Club
Played On 10/22/2017Wreak it at Beckett
Played on recent Sunday afternoon and had the place pretty much to ourselves. Tees are level, fairways were cut, some bare spots but i don't mind rolling the ball onto some nearby grass,. small price to pay for a quick round of golf on a perfect fall weekend day. The greens were fine and the rough and fringe were playable. If you are looking for a place to work on your game or to introduce someone to golf, that is a decent price, this place is not bad. If you don't need the country club for the day treatment then this is a viable round of golf. at least for this time of year. I would hesitate to recommend if your free time is valuable and you require a higher quality course, not for the golf snob or the gambler who must play it where it lies. Almost forgot, where else can you play nineteen different holes of golf? I'll be back.
Avalon Golf Club
Played On 10/12/2017Gone with the wind
Played on Columbus Day and if he had the wind blowing on his journey across the Atlantic that we had on Thursday he would have made it in half the time. The course was in great shape, tee boxes, fairways, greens and sand traps all were fine. Check in was a breeze or on this day should we say a stiff breeze. Even though it was cart paths only that day we still finished in less then 4 hours and enjoyed the course a lot. Good layout with mid length par 4's, slight dog legs par 5's and challenging par 3's. A very pleasant experience from start to finish. We did the hot deal and will return soon hopefully when their is not 29 mile per hour wind gust.

Played on a recent Sunday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. Go Birds! Anyways, the course was in fine shape, tee boxes level, fairways cut and the rough was manageable with the greens rolling true. I've been able to play up here at least once or twice year now for the last 10 years and I enjoy the course a little more each time I play it. ....One note of caution, this is not a knock but an observation, if I'm a lefthander with a tendency to slice I may just want to skip the front nine and play the back twice as 8 of the first nine holes have woods or out of bounds down the left side. Me being a righty with a fade "slice" it' a fun course to play. Did the hot deal and was treated like a VIP!
Green Tree Golf Course
Played On 09/24/2017It' better then watching the NFL
Played on recent Sunday afternoon and zipped around the course. For the most part the greens were in good shape, tee boxes passable the fairways were ok with a few rough spots but if nobody is looking just roll the ball onto some grass. I've been playing here for years and there are a handful of holes that i never pared, but there is always next Sunday. What time do the Birds play?

If your having a bad morning, take the afternoon off and spend it with some nice people. While you are here, might as well play a little golf. As far as the course goes, I couldn't find anything wrong with it, but then again I was in too good of mood to look hard. We did the golf now hot deal but nobody cared as were treated as VIP's from start to finish. Note to management, I asked one of the employees what they were majoring in and with a bright smile responded " I'm not sure, I think it"s art. I'll be back! and give that person a raise please.
Inniscrone Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2017Talk about deflategate ...No, not football, my ego!
I was quite impressed with the course, shame the course was:t impressed by me. Unless you hit it a ton fairly straight you:ll be better off from the green tees. Notice to the lost and found department, lost 1 of each, noodle (4th hole) Wilson & Nike (12th), 2 Titleist (15th ), Srixon and Callalway (17th), and 2 each Topflites, Maxflies , tayormade and 3 range balls on the 18th and that is just on the tee.Oh, and my self esteem somewhere on the back nine. But I:m putting it in my rotation and I'll be back and maybe I'll be walking as my bag is a lot lighter now. Note, don't even think about walking it. Great course for the price. Have at it and have fun looking for your "golf"balls.
Pilgrim's Oak Golf Course
Played On 04/17/2017Well Pilgrim....are you going to 3 putt every hole
I just made my annual pilgrimage to this course and for the life of me I don't know why I don't make the trip more often..Last year I promised myself I would play here more but then the thieves in Trenton increased the gasoline tax by 165% and that took care of that. But back to the course, it is just a pleasure to play. tees are level, fairways are plush, the rough is well...rough and the greens are true and sometimes pretty difficult. There are a couple holes that I'm not a big fan of but that is true of all courses.Lastly, and this is not a knock but a observation, If you are planning to take an elderly Dad or your Uncle Louie with the bad knees you may want to pick another course as a lot of the greens are in a bowl or semi bowl with the cart paths on the top rim which means you are walking down to them and then walking up from them, Also the cart paths are a ways from most greens so plan on walking a fair bit even when having a cart..
The Architects Golf Club
Played On 04/05/2017What bunker did it go in?
Because of recent rains it was cart paths only, which renders the question "did you walk" a little misleading, yea I had a cart but I did my share of walking, believe me! The tees were flat, the fairways were wide, the sand was abundant and the greens were fine. The course played long in part because it was wet but I think even if it was bone dry it would be a very good test of your golf game. Even tough it's a bit of a hike for me i'm looking forward to playing it again real soon.
