Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 03/21/2018Get what you pay for
I found Coyote Lakes to be a very basic golf course and was disappointed in the maintenance. The fairways and tee boxes had not been cut and greens were a little slow, though in good condition. Pace of play was unfortunate - after we passed a very slow group at the turn it was fine. Course layout is quite not really exciting. Gentlemen in the pro shop was very friendly.
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
Played On 03/19/2018Excellent Condition
The course was in excellent condition - ball sits up on the fairway all the way through the green. Greens were in great condition and not too fast. A little expensive for what you get - cart and small bag of balls. Took 4 3/4 hrs. to play so that was not fun!!
Enjoyed getting off the tee - traps to carry, traps to avoid, water to avoid - the course consistently presented a challenge getting off the tee.
Indian Springs Golf Club
Played On 12/09/2017Excellent conditon - Basic layout
Indian Springs was in excellent condition. However paying $98 and not getting range balls for a very average course was disappointing.
Rams Hill Golf Club
Played On 12/01/2017GREAT COURSE!!
Staff extremely friendly - course is in fabulous condition. No. 18 is one of the prettiest holes I have ever played. This course is a treat - wouldn't hesitate to make the 1 hr+ drive again.
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2017What a treat!!
We had a very enjoyable day at AK-Chin Southern Dunes. It was the first day after over-seeding but I rate the course in excellent condition because the greens, though slow, still rolled well and fairways were great. A very challenging course - small greens, well positioned bunkers and good length. Highly recommend this course!!
Copper Canyon Golf Club - Vista/Lake Course
Played On 11/03/2017Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 11/01/2017Good Condition
Though not a very challenging course it was in excellent condition coming off the over-seeding. If you miss these fairways it was a poor drive (had a couple). Greens are not especially imaginative - huge, flat, with very little undulation. Staff very friendly, we saw Julie, the cart girl, 5 times.
Would not recommend it for players who want a challenge.
Raven Golf Club - Phoenix
Played On 10/29/2017A Little Pricey!
My wife and I joined with two other for a good day at the Raven. Very unfair length for women - 5800yds. Course was in good shape after the over-seeding but a little too pricey for others of similar quality we have played in the Phoenix area.
Whirlwind Golf Club - The Devil's Claw Course
Played On 10/19/2017Great Deal!!
We got a great deal on Golf Now - to play a very nice course. Hard to miss the fairways - very wide open and because of the recent over-seeding greens were very slow. But still a very enjoyable day.
Juniper Golf Club
Played On 09/22/2017Treated Well!!
We arrived only to find that I had screwed up and had the wrong time. Despite a tournament going off the staff was extremely accommodating and got us out the back nine first and we were able to finish 18 holes.
Really enjoyed the course - though we didn't walk it is very walk-able. Good condition and very accommodating fairways. We will play again if we come back to the Bend area.
Widgi Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/21/2017A Nice Walk!!
Widgi Creek was enjoyable walk in among the ponderosa pines and homes. Very fair course.
River's Edge Golf Course
Played On 09/13/2017Challenging Walk!
Few people out there on the day we played so finished in 3 1/2 hrs. - nice! Unfortunately we played a week or so after the greens had been punched so they were a bit rough. Take note that it is a very hilly course; it is a challenging walk. Its not a bad course but when there so many other choices in the Bend area I would probably not go back.
Pinheiros Altos Golf Resort - Pines Course
Played On 04/26/2017Very Disappoinintg
As this was our first visit to Portugal we have been very disappointed with the customer service at the golf courses (expect one) - I guess we are spoiled North Americans but I think for the amount of money we paid we should be welcomed, have our bags put onto a cart, have tees on the cart, given instructions on where to go, given directions to the driving range and putting greens, given balls to warm up. In our experience in Portugal this is not done so don't expect it.
Amenities: The driving range looked very good but we do not know if it was available for our use as it said for 'members only'. No one in the pro shop said anything about it to us. As with all of the pro shops we visited in Portugal they had fantastic clothing for sale - however unfortunately prices are dramatically higher than in North America.
Course: They have 3 nines. On the two we played the greens were in good shape, very undulating but a bit slow. However the fairways were very poor resulting in very inconsistent lies. Short courses that I think most players would find somewhat challenging.
If you usually walk, walk this course - it is a good walk and the prices for golf carts are extremely high plus the cart path on one of the nines we played were cobble stone - nice to look at but tough to ride. No GPS, no tees, no water, on the carts.
Monte Rei Golf & Country Club - North Course
Played On 04/23/2017Very Nice!!
Monte Rei is a very special course - good design, great condition and excellent staff friendship. If money is not an object highly recommend playing here. It was the only time in 7 courses we played in Portugal where you we given a cart with GPS, towel, tees, tee gift, clubs cleaned, directed to 1st tee and welcomed in the pro shop. T
Before heading out to Monte Rei you better make sure you know where you are going because the course is very difficult to find.
Oitavos Dunes Golf Course
Played On 04/18/2017Good course - horrible service - nice views!!
We played this course as part of a package so not sure exactly what price was - a cart was included but would never pay what they charge for a cart because it is a very walk-able course and 70Euros for a cart - ouch!! No GPS, no water.
Never were told anything - just got a cart and went and played. No one told us where to go, where the driving range was, 1st tee, no guidance/instructions nothing!! Horrendous service but the course is good - very challenging greens, and you need to drive it straight. Beautiful ocean views from several holes.
Shadow Hills Golf Club - North Par-3 Course
Played On 12/02/2016Great par 3 course!!!
We really enjoyed the course despite high winds which made the course extremely challenging; long par 3's, several very undulating greens, lots of shots over water or traps (made even more challenging with wind gusts of 30+mph). Great layout that any golfer would enjoy. Course was in excellent condition; I would highly recommend this little gem!!
Club at Tower Ranch
Played On 09/30/2016Over Rated
Though it has spectacular views the course itself is overrated. No driving range, too many uphill/downhill shots, and tee shots requiring guesses on distance. It is my bias but I think golf courses should be walkable - not a chance at Tower Ranch. After the round ate in the restaurant - very average. It would be okay for a buddies trip but could not have a steady diet of this course.
Talking Rock Golf Course
Played On 08/02/2016Beautiful Views!
Talking Rock is an extremely picturesque golf course. Very forgiving off the tees though each hole is tree-lined. The elevated 17th tee has one of the most beautiful golf course views in BC so can be difficult to focus back on the green below. Great practice range and very friendly staff.
Shuswap Lake Estates Golf Club
Played On 07/19/2016Nice course!!
Played on a typical beautiful Shuswap summer day! Course was in fantastic shape; it is a challenging walk. Wide fairways collect all but the very errant drive however the tiered greens make the course challenging. Better hit a great 2nd shot into 18 or a big number is possible.
Ledgeview Golf and Country Club
Played On 06/28/2016Love Ledgeview
Ledgeview is challenging despite being a short course. Narrow, undulating, and well treed fairways make drives challenging. The greens are small with lots of contours. . Lots of up and down which adds to the difficulty. It is not surprising that Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor grew up playing on this course.
Unfortunately the clubhouse is shut down because it was destroyed by fire; the temporary facility is adequate. Very small driving range but they have two chipping/putting greens.
Thank you mmcneill for the five star review! We are happy to hear you had a great time at the course! See you again this season.
