Table Mountain Golf Club
Played On 10/04/2023Just an average course
The check in is always the same, the personnel are friendly and professional.
The driving range is nice.
The course is average in difficulty, but it does have a few tricky holes. During the summer, the ground is hard, but that helps for your driving distance. In the winter the ground gets soggy. This is a very flat course.
The pace of play can be slow to very slow because it is always busy - that is because there are no other golf courses in the area. It is very very slow when the old walking ladies are playing. It is very slow when the older gentlemen are drinking heavily. I played with a group of local old guys that stop at every hole, take drinks of their booze, go to the next ball to hit. When the hole is finished, they count their strokes, take another shot then move on - SLOWLY.
I've seen this one guy several times that is allowed to bring his dog along - that should be against policy rules.
I try to enjoy myself here even though it is a slow pace.
I suppose I could go to Dingerville golf course.
Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
Played On 04/11/2023Fantastic and beautiful course
My first time here and I will definitely be back.
The scenery from the minute you arrive till the time you leave is gorgeous! The course is laid out beautifully. There are several challenges and I love that about courses. I don't like simple courses.
The greens were almost perfect, the fairways were awesome!
This is a fantastic course.
Too bad it was so freaking windy for the 8 days that I was here.

Little River Inn Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 12/03/20229 hole course, fun but needs work
I play this course 3 to 4 times a year. It is a 9 hole course that you go around twice. 2 of the holes have the same tee box, but you hit 2 different greens. Number 9/18 is the funnest of those 2 holes.
The course needs maintenance, the bunkers are messy, the tee boxes are a mess.
The golf carts are ancient, my guess is that they are circa 1980, gas powered, they are hard to start in the mornings, the seats are beat up.
There is a very small and short driving range,
The course is very challenging. There is a lot of elevation change, several blind shots too.
As for the scenery and beauty around you, this is the place to play. Especially the finishing hole!
I recommend this course, and I will be back soon.

Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
Played On 04/16/2022Fantastic course.
Out of the 3 courses that I played this week, Cimarron was my favorite. I was a solo player, and I was paired up with 2 locals that helped me to navigate this course. The course was in very good condition, the greens were true and the views are awesome. The wind was blowing 35 to 45 mph, it was hard to keep the ball on the green.
The staff that welcomed me and helped me were all fantastic. The price was good, it was about $75 or $80 and well worth it.
I will definitely come back.

Chardonnay Golf Club
Played On 12/18/2020Good course, terrible staff and members
I have seen this course for many years, but haven't had a chance to play it because it is semi-private and it is a long drive.
This is my first experience with this course:
I walked in to sign in, the person behind the desk was alone and didn't even say good morning or recognize that I was there. After about 10 seconds I said good morning and he responded. (Dude, if you don't like to greet people or if you are not happy, go get another job somewhere else).
I noticed a sign that the practice range was closed. I always arrive an hour early to warm up and practice.
Next was that it was cart path only because it had rained 3 days prior to this day. This was a bummer.
After walking around in the store, I finally bought a shirt and wanted to check in, he wouldn't let me get a cart yet, but this was because my playing partner had the golf moose coupons. I guess it is his way of showing off his minimal authority. Would it really hurt to give me a cart 5 minutes early so I can get my cart set up.
Just before it was our foursome time to tee off, we notice that the 2 groups in front of us were fivesomes.
What kind of crap is that? They must have been special. Boy were they slow. They were 1-1/2 holes behind pace. (The course marshal came by at least 5 or 6 times throughout the round, but he didn't care.
The next thing I noticed was the group behind us, one of the guys had his dog with him. It was a nice friendly dog, but he allowed it to run loose. He had a tennis ball that he hit with his club so the dog would chase and retrieve the ball. WHAT kind of club allows this? Again, the course marshal let this go. Maybe next time I will bring my dog and horse.
The course has it's good looking areas and bad looking areas. Overall it is a good looking course with some good scenery. At one point, if you look hard, you can see the top of one of the towers of the Golden Gate bridge.
The greens seem large, and the are very hilly which makes for some fun putts. There are a few greens that if you are in the wrong spot, you will need to putt over the fairway and fringe.
There are a few holes with forced layups, as I recall, one of the holes does have a rock that tells you what the distance is to the hazard is.
One thing that i did notice was that some of the golfers smoke cigars and they flick their ashes on the greens and leave it there for others to work around, and I found at least a dozen cigar butts on the ground. Why can't you lazy people clean up your mess.
On the 6th hole, my electric cart started to die, I had to have the other cart in our group give me a push the rest of the way on the front nine. I went in and explained the cart died and they brought out another cart in a few minutes.
Overall I really like the course, but I dislike the staff, they ARE NOT FRIENDLY (Maybe because we were not members).
I am not likely to return any time soon.
I hope the management of this facility reads this review because you really need to fix things.

Yocha Dehe Golf Club at Cache Creek Casino Resort
Played On 01/10/2020Awesome course
This is one of my favorite courses to play. The views are incredible, the course layout is fantastic. The greens, bunkers, and fairways are always in great shape. There are a lot of elevation changes, numerous water hazards, and a few forced layups. The driving rage is interesting, you hit from fake turf on an elevated hill, you hit over grass to greens that are downhill. The distances are deceiving, what looks like and reads 150 on your range finder, feels more like 175 to 180.
There are cabinets with cold water for your drinking at every 3rd hole (I believe it's every 3rd hole).
They have very comfortable carts with GPS and a cooler with ice in them.
When finished, you are greeted by an associate who cleans your clubs and gives you warm towel to wash your face and hands, it has mango in it!.
After golf, go into the Bahtenta restaurant and bar, the food is fantastic, the views are beautiful, and the staff is wonderful!
I just wish I could afford to golf here every week.

Davis Golf Course
Played On 01/05/2020Great little course (Par 67) 18 holes
I have been playing this course wince the mid 1970's almost on a weekly basis as I belong to the Davis Golf Club. One of the best things about this course is the ground screw led by Jerry Lillidoll, he makes sure the sand traps are in awesome shape, good fluffy sand, not dirt like 90% of other courses within 100 miles of here.
The greens are in good shape 95% of the time, sometimes the winter does it's thing to the greens but they recover well.
This course is loaded with trees, several water hazards, and plenty of bunkers.
The course is flat with very little elevation change. There are some long par 3's and only 1 par 5 on the course. You need to have your accuracy swing on because of the par 3's and the bends in the fairways. Some par 4's are drivable if you are a long ball hitter.
There is a little café/grill, they make the BEST PATTY MELT this side of the Mississippi !!!!!!!
Wolf Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/27/2019Gorgeous course, great views
This is my 2nd time here, it has amazing views and scenery. The fairways are awesome, the greens are sweet, the bunkers have beautiful white sand, and there is plenty of water hazards.
I wish I could play here every week.
The course has very high elevation changes with incredible 360 degree views.

Casablanca Resort & Casino
Played On 06/26/2019Great course for the money, very scenic
I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this course is. Most fairways are wide and easy to hit, however there are a few tricky ones and a few tough par 3's. I really love the landscape of the course and the scenic views while playing.
I do have an issue though, it is the bad bunkers. It is dirt, not sand. I brought this up to the people in the club house, and they agreed. They said because they have to water son much it gets compacted. That is not true, sand is different than dirt.
Overall I really liked playing here and cannot wait to come back.

Timber Creek Golf Course - Sierra Pines
Played On 10/12/2018Beautiful course
This is a beautiful course. It has plenty of hazards, fantastic fairways, and really nice greens. I had one of my better rounds here too. I can't wait to go back.

Played On 09/23/2018Awesome course
This is a gorgeous looking course, it's very hilly and has lots of elevation changes, and I like that.
There is a lot of wildlife and the scenery is awesome.
Woodcreek Golf Club
Played On 08/31/2018Average course, bad fairways and greens
There are some rough, dry, and bald areas on most of the fairways. The fairways and rough are cut just right. There were numerous greens that were in bad conditions with a few of them cut too short by the mower.
Overall the course is nice. It is also somewhat challenging with forced layups and blind corners.
I do like this course, I just wish it was in better condition.
Graeagle Meadows Golf Course
Played On 07/27/2018Gorgeous golf course
When you walk down to sign in, you see beauty everywhere! The course is not as hilly as others in the area, but it does have some hills. There are plenty of trees, water hazards and bunkers. The layout is awesome.
You cross over the Feather river 2 times.
The fairways are in great condition, the tee boxes were darn near flawless.
There are a few blind shots and a few forced carries on this course.
The pace of place was perfect, the weather was also good.
The only thing I have against this course is the $85.00 green fee. I am used to paying $48.00 to $60.00 at other similar courses.
I will be back.
Apple Mountain Golf Resort
Played On 06/26/2018Awesome hilly course
I have heard of this course and I was warned that it is hard and to bring a lot of balls.
When you arrive you are greeted with the beauty of the Sierra foothills. It is so gorgeous here that you might forget to play golf and just look around.
The course is very hilly and several hundred feet in elevation change. It is very challenging, you need to know where to lay up and which club to use on the elevated tees. The fairways were in great shape, the greens were well manicured and VERY VERY FAST!!! I normally putt 32 to 36 times on similar courses, this time I had 41 putts. I lost 3 balls, one because I didn't know the course and hit a drive too far and OB I went. 2 others were lost in the hazard areas. i was happy with losing only 3 balls. My playing partner lost 12.
I cannot say enough how pretty this course is.
Every tee entry has a name for each hole, along with neat Totem pole yardages marked on them.
Plumas Lake Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/28/2018Average course, but it's okay, very flat
We booked our round via Golf Now, there were no warnings posted that the course punched the greens. When we arrived, we were informed that the greens had been punched.
Overall this course was good, not great, not bad, but good.
You need to have course knowledge as you can get in trouble because there are a lot of fairways with a creek running through them. There are also forced layups to know about. You must choose your clubs wisely.
The course has a lot of trees. The sand traps are not your basic sand, it is more like river bank sand, it's brown, not white, and it plays differently than the standard white sand.
The golf carts have an electronic map (Pseudo GPS), but they do not have distances on the maps. You need to bring your own range finder or GPS equipment. Some of the trees along the fairways have yardage signs on them. We found one tree that said it was 118 yards to the green, yet 2 of our GPS units said 144 yards to the green.
If you don't know the course, you can get lost. They could use more signs pointing you to the next tee. There are some signs but not enough, we got turned around a few times.
Overall the course is hard, but not too hard.
The grounds crew needs to mow the rough, we lost several balls that were still in the fairway but in the first cut and we couldn't find our balls.
There is Driving range and putting green.
I wouldn't eat on the patio, too many smokers, it ruins your food.
The staff here was friendly
I will come back in about 4 weeks after the greens have come back to life.,
Rancho Solano Golf Course
Played On 03/01/2018I am bummed about my favorite course
I love this golf course!! It is a gorgeous course, it has some of the best fairways and greens from Vallejo to Auburn. I first started playing here right after they first opened, hen I didn't play here for about 20 years. The course has gotten better with age.
Not for the sad news: I probably won't be playing here for a long time because they raised their green fees to an unreasonable amount. We used to book our Friday mornings on Golf Now for $42.00 which included a cart. The course now charge $77.00 green fees with a cart for these same days. That is ridiculous!
To the management of both Rancho Solano and Paradise Valley, Thank you for ruining a good thing!! I am really heart broken and bummed.
Rancho Solano, I have a tee time booked for Friday morning at 8:20 a.m. I believe it was $49.00, This is more reasonable to me.
Eagle Vines Golf Club
Played On 01/05/2018Nice course
We played this course on Jan 05,2018, it was on and off light rain. The course was in good shape for it being winter and raining. I love the elevation changes and challenges. The course has many bunkers and water hazards but very few if any trees. There are vineyards around the course and if you ball goes in them, you must not enter them, you are to take a penalty drop where the ball went in.
The normal cost to play this course is more than I would expect as compared to other courses similar in size and difficulty. The normal price for Friday play is either $85.00 or $95.00. Since the weather was rainy and we played as a foursome, we got the rate at $42.00 which is more along the lines of cost compared to similar courses like it in the area.
I would like to play this course in the spring to see if the grass is greener.
I like the course a lot.
The personnel are awesome.
The one thing that I would like to see is a GPS and map on the carts. You would think that at an expensive course as this, this would be one of the amenities that they would have.
Whitney Oaks Golf Club
Played On 11/17/2017Good course, bad bar and grill
I've played this course twice and enjoy the layout of the course. I love all of the elevation changes, hazards, and challenges. For me it is a hard course to play, but I enjoy it. I give the course 4+ stars.
My opinion of the bar and grill is less than good. Both times that I have been here, the place is under-staffed. It takes a long time for someone to take our drink order and it seems that the wait staff is more interested in helping the locals and more frequent visitors than us once in a while folk. I was very disappointed in that aspect. I happened to order a burger on my first visit and it was very generic and tasteless. On my second visit I ordered the french dip sandwich, it too was tasteless and the roll was so hard that I couldn't bite it, it almost broke my teeth. The cook in this place needs learn how to use seasonings and spices, and FRESH bread. You would think that if you are paying $13 for a burger or french dip sandwich, it would taste good. I think they rely on the rich locals to support this bar and grill.
The next time I play golf here, I WILL NOT eat at this establishment, even if it was for free. I give the bar and grill - 2 stars.
Wolf Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/24/2017Gorgeous course and views
Upon arrival, the views are incredible.
We paid our fees and went to the driving range, they DO NOT ALLOW drivers, they ONLY allow irons on the range.
Today was cart path rules only as they did and "over-seed" here too. This is not a course that you can walk. We were worn out at days end! This is by far the most gorgeous course I have ever seen. It is very hilly and very challenging. You are paying for the scenery, not the round of golf.
One thing about the rate that you pay ($125.00), you would think that this nice of a course and at these rates, the carts would have GPS on them
I can't wait to come back and play again, hopefully I can ride the fairways instead of walking. Yes, I am aware of the 90 degree role, but there are still a lot of hills to navigate from cart to ball and back to cart. I bet I walked 8 miles today.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had an issue with the color at the hosel of one of my clubs, I asked if someone had some tools to help me fix it, so he went to the shop and brought out some pliers for me to use. THANK YOU!!!
There are no food/drink carts on the course, however there is a snack bar that you can stop at 2 times.
There was a young lady at 18 that asked if we needed our clubs washed. That is a nice idea. Please tip her well.
I really look forward to coming back.
Coral Canyon Golf Course
Played On 09/23/2017Coral Canyon- Very nice course
This must be the time of year for "Over-Seed", this is the 3rd course that we have played that did this, this means we had to use the cart path and walk a lot.
This course is very hilly and long.
The views are incredible though.
The pace was very slow, as in 6+ stinking hours!!! We called the pro shop and asked them to send out one of the marshals to ask the guys in front of us to speed up, they said okay (There was 1 open hole in front of the foursome playing in front of us, we had to wait at every tee box as they lost and searched for their balls constantly).. But the marshals NEVER showed up. It took an hour just to play the first 2 holes. The next issue is that a group near us had a boom box in their cart and was blasting music. We again called for the marshal and asked them to get these guys to turn off their music, it didn't happen. Then when we were finished, I went into the pro shop and said they shouldn't allow stereos or music at all on this course. The guy behind the desk didn't seem to care about my opinion, he just shrugged me off. Those golfers must have been friends of his.
To the manager of this course, I hope you are reading this!!!: Your employees need to understand the players' concerns and abide by golf etiquette! A round of golf should never take 6 hours even in slow play, and we should not ever hear someone else's music blasting all around the entire course.
I heard that this was a nice course, so I flew in from Sacramento California to play here and it was one of my worst experiences ever on a golf course. If you look at my Profile, I play quite a bit of golf and always give good and honest reviews.
My review of your course is negative and I do not like posting negative reviews. For this reason, I am posting NO, I do not recommend this course.
You may reply to me.
Thank you for leaving a review of our golf course. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the slow pace of play and the behavior of some players. We appreciate your feedback and hope you can still enjoy your time at our course.
